Rate this book
This is Book #2 of The Parker Harris Series. (Cascades of Moonlight Book #1) Parker Harris desires a normal life, but it's just not in the cards for her. Parker is a werewolf. She has been for three years now. It’s the summer after she graduated high school and she is preparing for college. If only grades and college classes were her only worries. Parker and Jackie are trying to mend their fractured friendship from her betrayal. Jackie and Mitchell are working on their relationship, fighting jealousy and trust issues of their own. Quinn, a vampire, is the love of Parker’s life. He begins to look into his family’s past and what he finds is not pretty. In fact, it could mean the end for his relationship with Parker. A mistake from Parker's past is revealed and proves to be more enormous than she realized. Dreams—Parker is having dreams and visions of Will. She can’t decipher real from illusion it seems. Spells—Charisma, a new friend to the group, brings magic into the fold. Moonlit Tales—it seems that the full moon is not only a time for Parker to feel the pain of shifting. It’s also a time for unexplained occurrences and secrets being revealed. Can Parker and Quinn's love survive the obstacles they encounter? Is Jackie trustworthy? Are Parker’s feelings for Mitchell becoming too strong for her to ignore? Dreams, Spells, and Moonlit Tales summarize the events of Parker's life in this book.

I got this book from the author, free of cost, in exchange of an honest review from my side.
Firstly I would like to thank the author for giving me this opportunity of reading and reviewing this book.
I got this book from Lovers of Paranormal Group of Goodreads for Read & Review.
Well this book was 10 times better than book 1 and I really liked this sequel. I got impressed by the enriched writing style of the author and it just erased any disappointment that I had in book 1. The concept and the twists that we get to enjoy in this sequel is so much different than the others in this genre that I simple couldn’t guess what’s coming next and I love some surprises for myself. The characters developed noticeably and Parker just went on showing the spectrum of new colours that defined her character so well that I thought I didn’t know her already from book 1. Quinn was a little irritating at times but Parker won the show for me and kept me interested till the very end.
The action scenes are so vividly projected that I could practically play it all in my head and the new dangers that threatened Parker and her friends really made me tense up. I enjoyed the whirlwind ride of emotions and dangers. Enjoy guys!!!

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review, Lovers of Paranormal.

This was an easier read than the first book with fewer editing errors.

This book continues straight on from the first although there is a bit of a recap. The two couples, Parker and Quinn, Mitchell and Jackie are now living together although obstacles are constantly coming their way you can't help but hope for the best for them. There are lots of nice tie-ins to things in the first book that didn't seem of consequence at the time, adding to the twists and turns of the plot line. The characters seem slightly more mature and consistent this time too, also making for an easier and more enjoyable read. A few new characters, Charisma and family, were a nice addition and I hope to see them develop in the next book.

This series has kept my interest by never quite being able to guess where the story will go next. This book has ended on a cliff-hanger so must go continue with the third.........

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review (Lop). I loved the way book 2 picked up right were book 1 left off. Parker and friends are now in college, facing new challenges and trying to pick up the pieces of shattered friendships. Parker is now plagued with dreams of Will, who is thought to be dead. Quinn finds out some news about his parents that turns his world upside down. Jackie and Mitchell are trying to move on as best they can, but Jackie and Quinn are concerned about the closeness of Parker and Mitchell. I can not wait to start the 3rd book, I love the progression of the story and how you never no what will happen!!

I got this book in exchange for a honest review (LoP). This book is 10 times better than the 1st one. Not only was the author able to make a great story involving werewolves and vampires but she was able to add witches into the mix. It was great how we heard a bit more about Quinn's past life but we finally figure out who was after Parker. I really enjoyed it and it is highly recommended to be read, especially if you've read the first one. Loved it!!!!!!!!

Even better than the first! I can't decide who I like more, Quinn or Mitchell. I read this in one night, just couldn't sleep without knowing what happened next! I'm very excited to read the next in the series. To see how everything is tied up and how everything plays out. So exciting!

Book two of this three part trilogy begins just a short while after the end of book one, Cascades of Moonlight. The synopsis / description provides a good overview of the storyline and I do not feel I could improve on this and will not rehash it. Again I am going to say right up front that I received this series from the author with a request for my honest review without any compensation whatsoever, other than the joy of reading a new book. The series should be read in total as both book one and two have significant cliffhanger endings and the story is definitely worth the read, so have the trilogy on hand to keep going and to avoid cliffhanger frustration syndrome. In this installment we now are very familiar with the main protagonists and I have become emotionally invested in their journey. The storyline is clever and I found myself at times guessing what was actually happening; at times I was spot on and other times got blown out of the water at the turn of events. Consequently there was no boredom in the cards for this reader and I was fully engaged to the end. I think that while I really enjoyed book one, I enjoyed this installment even more, and I had fun with the twisty turning challenges and intrigue the story put in my reader path. Again, I have to mention the cliffhanger ending and highly urge that the trilogy be read in total and in order, as there is much that will be missed in this book if you have not read the first installment. Definitely recommend the trilogy for mature YA readers on up as there is some sexual references, although not explicit, and violence.

I was given this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
I'm so glad the author let me read her second book, because I been wanting to read it since I had finished the first one in the series. The author manage to impress me on how she wrote the second in this serious, because she kept surprising me with every new twist and turn. I truly did not know what to expect next and I loved that, not knowing only left me wanting to know what would happen next. I'm really starting to love her writing style of how she present the story and she left me wanting to know what happens next can not wait for the next book in this series and read what she has wrote.
In this story Parker and Quinn and her friends are try to work everything out, especially now that they are starting a new chapter in there life and doing to college. When they think that they can live a normal life and start having fun, things start to take turns for the worst. This time we take a journey with Parker and her friends; learning about past secrets and learning to trust again and magic.
I gave this book five stars because I loved hot the author kept surprising me and she wrote a very interesting story that kept me entertained and just wanting more. Amazing read and can not wait for the next book in this series.

Wow Amy.....You did it again!!! I absolutely loved this book. Once I started it, I couldn't put it down. I want to start by saying that I really liked the recaps from book 1. I was able to refresh my memory as this story progressed and I was happy that was there since I wasn't able to read book 2 right after I finished book 1.

As for the characters, (so as not to spoil it) there is one in particular that haunts the pages and causes me to get the chills when I think about their role in the story. However, a major character in story progression.

Again, I love Mitch soooo much!! He is Parker's best friend and he is always there when she needs him!! Extremely sweet and the true definition of a best friend.

Quinn did upset me this time around. Even though his actions are kind of justified, I was still really not happy with him!! However, he made it back into my heart at the end, as always!!

I did enjoy Jackie more this story and I really felt for her when she was going through tough times.

Parker is always amazing and a wonderful lead character!!

Overall, I give this story 5 stars for an outstanding storyline with great progression and characters I adore.

I can't wait to see what Amy has coming next for book 3 (Coming May 2013)

I love how Parker describes Quinn, it's funny. "I ran my hand over his chest admiring the contours of his skin. His skin was so smooth it felt like cold marble like a kitchen counter. Well that is a romantic description of the man I love, he's like a kitchen counter. Geez, Parker you should write poetry I thought." Ugh Quinn in this book and his damn mood swings, and jealousy! I enjoyed the illustrations of the characters through out the book they were entertaining, what I didn't enjoy was Parker and Quinn fighting.
"I'm a vampire, Parker, I haven't been alive in sixty years. I think I can handle myself without you freaking out and controlling my every move," his words were full of disdain.
"Oh, I'm sorry you are right. Here I am acting as though you might be kidnapped by an ex-girlfriend, and tortured for weeks on end. Nothing like that could possibly happen though right?" My words were dripping with sarcasm.
Yeah cliffhanger at the end NOT OKAY!

Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Fairies

Dreams, Spells, and Moonlight is book two of the Parker Harris Series, but I had to read book one Cascades of Moonlight first. This series embodies YA, giving us all the hallmarks of an EPIC Paranormal YA Read!
- Vampires, Witches, and Werewolves, OH MY!!!
- Angst Ridden Characters
- Lie, Deceit, and Heartbreak, and last, but by no means least,
- Soul Mates and Love Triangles
All these must-haves are wrapped in a beautiful but unassuming cover.

As for endings, well let's just say I was booking a flight till I saw that book three, The Dark Moon, was to be released that week! (now released, I recommend being ready to buy immediately after finishing DSM!) I got to the last page and had the mother of all WTF! Moments!!!

I'm giving 4.5 fairies!

This was a personal review of Justine's.

I really enjoyed this second installment of the Parker Harris trilogy. The writing has definitely improved from the first book with only a few minor spelling mistakes. We now find all four characters going to college. Parker is having visions of Will everywhere both in dreams and whilst she is awake. Mitchell and Parker are getting closer and this is not being dealt with very well by Quinn and Jackie. Quinn finds out some devastating news which affects his relationship not only with Parker but Mitchell and Jackie as well. The ending leads us perfectly into the last installment. I really enjoyed this book and again devoured it wanting to know what all the dreams meant and whether our four friends would make it through together. Im really looking forward to the next installment and conclusion to this story.

This series just keeps getting better and better. I have been fortunate enough to have all 3 books so i can read them one after the other. Otherwise, I would be a very frustrated person. I hate cliff-hangers and this book just left me hanging. I can honestly say i have to start reading book 3 in a matter of minutes..This story is just too good to put down and go to sleep without finding out how it ends!! Very well written , keeping me on my toes here!

The second book of the Parker Harris series picks up the action from book 1. This is such a great storyline with characters working thru real issues, well, in addition to the paranormal ones. Some of the drama feels a little too much for an adult reader, but as this novel targets a YA audience, the book is just right. The book reviews a little of the action that happened in book one, and could possibly be read alone, but this series is progressive, and is best enjoyed in order

For me, this book was somewhat better than the first book. It is written in a better style, yet it still felt like a soap opera. I love the story. It kept with the original story about the characters. I liked the characters. This one has a few added twists. The humor is always an added bonus. I look forward to reading more on this series. A good add for your tbr list.

I could not put this book down. This is the second book in the series and it is so much better then the first. There were so many plots twists that I never saw coming! The story is well written and a real page turner. You must read the first book before you read this one. I highly recommend this book to both adults and YA readers.

book two starts off months after book one left off and it started out great and i had to keep wondering is Will alive or really dead. The book had ups and downs with the characters making you feel you were with them. I cannot wait for book 3 to come out especially the way book two ended I did not see that ending coming. Thanks amy for a chance to read your books.

An intricate story of love, friendship and loyalty against the backdrop of the paranormal. A good read but a NA book with NA issues and I am not sure that YA may at all be as intrigued by this book as would older readers.

A good go.

**I received this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP or Lovers of Paranormal)**

I liked this book a lot more than the first one, it had more depth a great storyline and a huge amount of revelations. It was slightly similar to twilight: New moon in that it almost came to a standstill while Parker and Quinn were not together but it was very well written so it didn't seem quite as 'end of the world-y'. A fabulous second in the series that in my mind redeems the confusion in the first book.

The main character is again Parker but in this book she has moved away from home to start school I think but it doesn't seem as if she goes very often so I don't know for sure. She is living in a house with Quinn, Jackie and Mitchell away from campus and is having nightmares/ hallucinations about Will causing a rift between her relationships, this is made worse when Quinn meets his father and Parker remembers something disturbing from her past breaking up the couple from book one and forcing them to stay away from each other. Parker kind of feels a bit at a loose end, not sure what to do with herself until she makes friends with a new character Chari and her son and then Jackie's mum gets sick. I liked Parker a lot more as a character in this book, I felt her relationship with Chari and her son made me look at her in a completely different way and I saw her as a much more likeable character. I also liked the short bits with her Jackie and their mothers I felt it added another layer onto her character that helped me sympathize with her more.

The secondary characters were the same as in the first book with the addition of Chari. The relationship with Jackie was strengthened by the illness of her mother but I feel I don't see the real sister relationship that is described because Parker is always relying on the boys. Parker 's relationship with Mitchell is odd in this book, it carries on from the end of the first book where they both kind of have feelings for each other but Parker feels Mitchell belongs with Jackie and she belongs with Quinn and so the relationship is at a moot point. Quinn in this book I feel is difficult to understand, he loves her, he hates her, he goes to see Jackie's mother and then loves her again- in this book I definitely did not get the impression that they are perfect together, in honesty after reading this book I don't think they should be together at all. I loved the introduction of the new character Chari, I feel that she is a great addition to the group of friends as she offers a brand new perspective and a new way to represent the main and secondary characters.

The pacing in this book was great and gives us a fantastic cliff hanger ending that makes me desperate to want to start the next book. I loved that all revelations in this book were perfectly timed and made me want to continue reading until the early hours of the morning.

The storyline was much better than in the first book, it had a lot more depth and made for a much more enjoyable reading experience. I loved the addition of a new paranormal species and that ultimately a master plan was revealed from the bad guy. It gives me extremely high hopes for the next book in the series which I can't wait to read.

4 stars a great read.

This is the second book to Cascades of Moonlight! I wrote this so I will not rate it (Although I think it's awesome) If you enjoyed Cascades of Moonlight, I hope you will enjoy this one even more! Parker and Quinn must struggle to deal with many new obstacles thrown in their way. Mitchell and Parker's friendship has flourished and is the one constant in Parker's life. Jackie is running off on her own and keeping secrets again. I hope when you read this book that you find it is better than book one. I hope to grow in my writing and make book 3 even more fantastic.
