Cookie Storytime. Florence and her stuff money, Arnie, ate all of the cookies in the cookie tin. Now mom says that they can have "no cookies for a week." Florence and Arnold make plans to get "a cookie--just one."

I am so on board with this mother who says, "No more cookies." And means it.

Although I'm not crazy about the ending. Sweets are sweets.

FIVE STARS, though, for the firmness of this mother in guiding her child to a better life.

A very imaginative child finding ways to get cookies after being grounded from them for a week. I can see why the mother did so. And I'm glad the mother didn't cave. At least with the cookies. And making the Magic Monkey Bananas (which do sound really good) was a great idea for mother to get daughter off her back...because it really wasn't cookies. And daughter was doing a great job at entertaining herself. And even better that daughter and monkey gave mother TWO Magic Monkey Bananas. Rewards of motherhood.

Ever heard someone say they wanted just one more cookie? This book is for them. Florence and her stuffed monkey, Arnold, try all sorts of tricks to try to get Mom to give them just one more cookie. The plans all fail, but they keep trying! Eventually, Mom helps them make something even better than cookies--Magic Monkey Bananas! (Recipe included)

Good for preschool or toddler storytimes.
