In general a fairly fun book. I liked the set up of her being his best friend's baby sister and them having known each other for years. The story was mostly well written and I liked the heroine's stick-to-it-iveness. What I didn't care for so much was that the hero took way too long to realize he was in love with the heroine. Plus even though he slept with her twice I didn't feel like he was as attracted to her as I like my heroes to be.

My biggest complaint is a common one for me. The horse details were just not right. I'm going to put them in spoilers in case you don't want to read my rant.

These things may seem minor to none horse people but they absolutely grate on me. A little research is in order. I'll raise my hand right now to vet any author's horse stuff for believability before publishing.

On the other hand I thought the hero's reasons for his difficulties in letting someone close to him were valid. I do think that a lifetime of having to let go of animals you love might damage a sensitive person. I would just have liked it to have been a bit harder for him to dismiss the heroine though and as I said before, I thought he came to his realization of love a bit too late. So really, other than the horse stuff, it was a middling decent read.

I received this free from netGalley for review.

Very good book. When Audrey shows up at Sunset Ranch to apologize to Lucas for running out on him after they spent the night together she discovers that he has no idea it was her. He had been doped up on pain meds and only had vague memories of what had happened. So she accepts a job on the ranch to stay close to him until she can find a way to tell him.

I really liked Audrey. She feisty and independent and has no trouble going after what she wants. She has been in love with Lucas for years even though he treats her like a little sister. On that night she thought he had finally seen her as a woman. She was stunned and hurt that he didn't remember what had happened but she was also determined that he would see her for the grown woman she was. I really liked the way that Logan's fiancee did her best to help Audrey with opening Lucas's eyes. I also liked the way that she doesn't put up with his overprotective attitude. I loved the fact that she refused to accept a marriage proposal based on honor only and held out for love. The scene between Audrey, her brother and Lucas was a perfect example of the way that Audrey has learned to stand up for herself against the men who try to do things "for her own good".

Lucas has spent a good share of his life looking at Audrey like a little sister. He never really noticed her as a woman. He wasn't sure he hadn't dreamed the encounter at the Tahoe cabin and he certainly never connected that sexy encounter to Audrey. When he hires her to work with his horses he starts to notice her as more than Casey's little sister, but tries to resist those feelings. It doesn't help that there is something about her that reminds him of that night. When he discovers that it was her he is shocked and horrified at what he had done but he is also still attracted to her. I loved watching him try to reconcile the two ideas of his best friend's little sister and the sexy woman he slept with. It is such a struggle for him. When he finds out about the baby and proposes because it's the right thing to do he can't believe she turns him down. Lucas has the problem that he doesn't do long term relationships, he keeps everything light and short term so that he doesn't have to engage his emotions. It took Audrey's refusal and departure for him to finally face his past and realize why he runs from emotions and why he can't run from his feelings for Audrey.

Sunset Seduction by Charlene Sands

Audrey Thomas has been in love with Lucas Slade for ten years, only he has no clue. Then she spends one very passionate night with Lucas. Unable to forget that night, Audrey shows up at Lucas's front door. She soon learns he doesn't know it was her that night. She accepts a two month job on Lucas's ranch and tries to find a way to tell him the truth. As much as Audrey loves Lucas, her character is no pushover.

Sexy as sin, horse breeder Lucas Slade, has finally recovered from his injuries from a month go. But he struggles with the memories of one drug induced night. While recovering at his friend Casey's cabin from the accident, a mystery woman enters his room. They spend part of the night making love, but when he awakes the next morning he is alone.

Lucas finally puts it all together and realizes that Audrey is his mystery woman. But before he can worry how Casey will feel about him sleeping with his little sister, there is a surprise for both of them. A life changing surprise. But when Lucas offers marriage, Audrey refuses. She will not marry a man who does not love her.

I felt the characters were well written, with believable back stories to explain some of their thought processes. I also liked the detail that was written about the ranch. You at times felt like you were in the barns or paddocks.

I have enjoyed a number of Charlene's books. I love how her stories flow with ease. It is also a joy to read error free novels. I cannot even begin to tell you how bad the market has gotten with ebooks that are full of errors and words in the incorrect order. But Charlene's always appear error free.

This book was just so-so. I guess my biggest complaint was the heroine. She appeared weak, to me, and somewhat doormat-ish. When I invest time in reading I would much rather read about a strong woman, one who speaks their mind and is not so willing to take the blame for everything that happens...which this young woman did. For me, it wasn't satisfying even though the end result was what I was hoping for.

Interesting enough story but I never felt an emotional connection between Audrey and Lucas. He seemed to be more in lust than in love with her.

Audrey Thomas goes to Sunset Ranch to face Lucas Slade, the man she loved for ten years and because she felt guilty running out on him a month ago after a passionate night together in bed, a night she'll never forget.
But when faced to face with Luke, he doesn't remember her. Numb, she takes on a job as a wrangler to help out at the ranch and work with the horses particularly one troubled horse.
Lucas Slade remembers the night of hot passion in his friends cabin, just not who the woman was.
But when Audrey shows up and starts seeing her in a new light instead of the kid sister of his best friend, he is struck with recognition. She is the woman who gave him a wild passionate ride. Now Luke tries to keep his distance but he can't help the temptation she presents and before long he succumbs.

Audrey stays on at the ranch after that refusing to run especially when she finds out she is carrying his baby, but refuses to marry him and have a loveless marriage.

Luke does his best to convince her they would be together but wont lie to Audrey about loving her because he don't want to hurt her. After an accident involving the troubled horse, he realizes he does indeed love Audrey, now only to prove it.

Sunset Seduction was a good read. It was passionate about a lot things in and out of the bedroom. Romantic, heartbreaking sad and with a little humor. I can't wait to read justin's book The Secret Heir of Sunset Ranch.

This book tells the story of Audrey and her brother’s best buddy, Lucas. She has been in love with him for a long time and she never forget the night that they spent together. Now, she is back at his doorstep and discovers that Lucas doesn’t remember that it was her that was on his bed that night. He has vague memory of that night and can only recall that they have a magical night then. On the night of her arrival, Lucas was under the impression that her brother sent her to him to him out at the ranch. He offered her a two month job stint at the ranch and she accepted in the hope that she would have a way to tell her true feeling of him. On a night where Audrey went for a swimming, Lucas finally able to find the piece of the missing puzzle and realized that she was the lady that he spent his night with.

I like the way the story developed and the main characters are very well written. It is a heavy conflict between the two main characters. Audrey wanted to have a family of her own with the man she loved but Lucas is unable to commit to a long term relationship. Despite all that, as you read the book, you can feel their attraction sizzle. Overall, this is a good read to me.

I love a good cowboy book and Luke was perfect with good looks and a very protective side. He loved Audrey like a little sister but had no idea she had a very different feeling for him and they shared a super hot night together, the problem he didn’t remember the woman in question and Audrey was completely hurt about it.

So after a few awkward moments she accepted to work in the ranch and let it go, but she was still in love with him and after some help from a friend, operation seduction started. Luke had no idea Audrey was the perfect woman he shared a very hot night. But once Luke discovered we can clearly see he’s afraid and decided to run from his mistake, so no happy ending for those two, but Audrey was pregnant and things changed quite a lot after that.

I really loved Audrey, she has strength and a lot of hard work, but she’s not a little princess waiting for her prince. She works and follow her life, because Luke is clearly oblivious to her love. I loved these two finding a half way. Luke needed someone strong and Audrey was perfect for him.

If you had a years-long crush on your big brother's sexy best friend, and found him sleeping in your bed, would you slide in and seduce him?

That's all well and good, but what happens next? What if it turns out he had a concussion and the details of That Night are on the foggy side for him?

I struggled a little in the beginning, because IMO what Audrey did with Lucas bordered on rape, though it did not QUITE cross the line. However, after Audrey comes to work for him, it doesn't take long for Lucas to figure it out (which is good, because I don't like stupid male characters) nor for Audrey to realize she's in denial about a few things herself.

The emotional issues that keep them apart are believable, and I really liked that Audrey refused to say yes to a marriage of convenience. The family complications (her brother, his brother and soon-to-be sister-in-law) added the right amount of help without taking the story over. I loved the irony of Lucas and Audrey texting each other from their respective bedrooms in the same house. Fun, quick read, satisfying ending.

Who says good guys finish last? I loved this hero and he was sexy as all get out.

I wasn't as into the heroine, but that might be because her personality just didn't resonate with me. However she had a really compelling backstory that shaped who she was, and I always love those stories where the heroine has been in love with the hero from afar for a long time.

The heroine did one thing near the end that I didn't much care for, although it was consistent with her character and I kind of understood why she did what she did. But I didn't quite agree with her choice. But it made good conflict for the story and kept me reading.

This was the second book in the Slades of Sunset Ranch series, but it was easy to pick up and understand even though I hadn't read the first book. The secondary characters in this book, who are the hero and heroine of the first book, make for good character development. Sophia and that negligee are totally awesome!

Overall, an entertaining book.

Sunset Seduction by Charlene Sands: I read the prequel to Sunset Seduction (Sunset Surrender) a few weeks ago, and I’m glad I did. It laid a wonderful foundation for the characters in this book. However, it could be read as a stand-alone easily enough.

Lucas Slade has been friends with Casey Thomas for a long time. They toured the rodeo circuit together, and he always admired his friend for taking care of his half-sister after they lost their parents in a tornado. One night, when Audrey snuck away with a couple of the younger cowboys, she got in over her head and Luke was there in her time of need. He agreed not to narc on her, as long as she came to him when she felt lonely. To a girl with a monumental crush on Luke, that was more than just a haven in the storm. Read More

For as long as she can remember, Audrey Thomas has been in love with Lucas Slade, her big brother's best friend. After an incredible night of passion, in which Audrey runs out before Luke wakes up, she has decided to go to Sunset Ranch to explain why she left before morning. Audrey is shocked to find out Luke doesn't remember their intimate night. So, she decides to stay on at the ranch to help out for the summer. Her passion is horses and she would love to take that job he has an opening for. But, can she forget what happened on that one exciting night and will Luke finally remember it was her that he was with that night? I really enjoyed this story as much as the other books by Charlene Sands that I have read. I recommend it to anyone who loves a good cowboy. You won't want to put it down.

Once again, I was totally taken in to the world of Charlene Sands. This time it's an older brother's best friend story and I love those. Lucas Slade is charming, rugged, sexy, and clueless! Audrey Thomas is sweet, loving, independent, and about to clue him in! Until she realizes the best night of her life is one he doesn't remember. The story takes off from there with delicious tension, heartwarming moments, and a surprise that will leave you smiling and rooting for these two to find their happily ever after. I loved every page.

Sunset Seduction by Charlene Sands was a good book. Lucas owns a ranch. He trains horses and sells them. He gets a concussion from one horse and is recuperating at his best friends cabin. Lucas is in bed when the best friends sister enters. Audrey has always loved Lucas, when he sees her and called her into his bed, she goes. But....Lucas don't remember it. Audrey ends up working on Lucas ranch training horses. Lucas has a hard time loving because of past history. From the one night stand Audrey is pregnant. Audrey won't just settle for marriage. She wants Lucas love.

Audrey's loved Lucas forever and when she finds him willing in her bed, she definitely grabs that opportunity with both hands. It takes some time for Luke to come to his senses, but eventually he sees the light and realizes that Audrey's really the one he never knew he was looking for his whole life.

It was a nice read but i lacked the right emotions to make it a great novel, in my opinion. I felt distracted and separated from the novel.
