Clean, Christian romantic suspense. Arianna Jackson is 15 days away from testifying in a murder trial when her Alaskan safe house is attacked and she and her bodyguard, US Marshall Body Callahan must make a run for it through the wild Alaska territory. Skyrocketing suspense from start to finish as Body and Arianna are constantly on the run trying to escape those who are trying to kill them.

Guarding The Witness (Guardians Inc.) by Margaret Daley

Disillusioned after being setup and betrayed by her boyfriend. Arianna Jackson leaves the Army and becomes a personal bodyguard. After witnessing a murder she is put into protective custody. Tucked away in an isolated cabin in the Alaskan wilderness, she should have been safe until time to testify. But money talks and there is a bounty on her.

U.S. Marshal Brody Callahan is the team leader heading up the new detail brought in as replacements. He is a "by-the-books" Marshal. Use to having his command listened to and followed, he knows Arianna will be a challenge. She is use to being the one to give orders not following them.

After an ambush at the cabin, Brody and Arianna are on the run for their lives. He is determined to get her to the courthouse to testify. It with take them both of them working together and trusting each other when they realize there is a mole and everyone one is under suspicion.

When I say it was a page turner, that my friends is an understatement. This had my total attention from the minute I finished the prologue, and I didn't stop until I was finished. This was my first book by Margaret Daley but I will be reading more. She has a wonderful style of writing that totally capture me. I loved every nail biting, what is going to happen next, Minute of this read.

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Guarding the Witness is a Guardians, Inc. book.

I really enjoy this suspense novel. The tension remained tight through the book. Everytime things calmed down something else happened. It is also a clean read. Their is a lot of praying and realizing that prayer works. Its not preachy just part of the story.

Their were so many heroes in this book. When you think of all the good cops,U.S. Marshalls and other law agencys that are risking their lives so we can be safe, thank you.

Arianna is a bodyguard protecting a women from her husband when she sees a murder by a crime boss. So now Arianna is under the U.S. Marshalls protection. The first safe house she was in had a security break so they moved her farther away in a forest ranger cabin in the woods.

The first team was getting ready for the second team to take over guarding her. Brody Callahan is with the second team. While it is his turn to sleep he is waken up by a silencer sound inside the cabin. He goes out into the hallway not sure if it was a dream or there was really a breach. Arianna heard the noise too. Arianna brought her own gun with her. She went to the hallway to. They both eased up to find that two gunmen were in the cabin. They each took one out. The U.S. Marshall inside the front room was dead.
Brody ran into the third guy outside and had to fight him before he could take him out. He could not find the third marshall.

Arianna and Brody took what they could find and put in backpack and then started to hike out of the woods. Brody was afraid of a mole inside his office so he could not call for backup.

They have so many trials to overcome to get her to Ancorage so she can testify and put a crime boss away for murder but he has a lot on the line so he has offered a contract killing for her. She has to get over her fear of running water to cross a river to get to safety. They face a lot of bad guys dressed as good guys.

I have read two of the Guardian, Inc books and I like would like to read the others.
I was given this ebook to read and asked to give honest review of it by Netgalley.com

Arianna Jackson had worked for Guardians Inc. for 4 years after returning home from military duty because the guy she had been dating had tried to frame her for giving intel to the enemy in the Middle East. Her work there led her to accept the job with the female bodyguard organization. She didn't want anyone to have to live as frightened as she was during the time she was being watched. Her assignment had been Esther Perkins. She was divorcing her husband, Thomas, who was part of a huge crime syndicate in Alaska. He didn't show up for the hearing and they returned home to find him tied up in Esther's library while Joseph Rainwater, head of the syndicate, held a gun to his head. Arianna witnessed him shoot Thomas in the head and she was now in the Witness Protection program.
Kevin Laird, Mark Baylor and Body Callahan were the deputy US Marshall's assigned to guard Arianna. Brody arrived and told Arianna that Esther was missing. He would let her know if she was found. They didn't know if she was dead or alive but they were worried because they found her blood where she was taken.
The night they arrived, Arianna woke up when she heard the sound of a gun with a silencer go off. She got up and she and Brody snuck out of their rooms with guns. Arianna shot one guy in the kitchen while Brody shot the other. Brody went outside, fought and killed another guy. They saw Mark was dead but couldn't locate Kevin. They didn't know if he was dead or if he had led the guys to the cabin. Brody packed up food and camping items while Arianna took pictures of the victims so they could identify them later and they left the cabin.
They headed out into the woods and soon heard something behind them. They looked from a high spot and saw that someone had started what appeared to be a forest fire. They first had to scare off a grizzly bear. Their next feat was crossing a river. Arianna was deathly afraid of rushing water because she had lost her sister in a flood when she was younger. She sucked it up and Brody tied a rope to her but she slipped and was washed downstream a bit. She made it across though after Brody helped her out. Next came the rappelling down a mountainside. Brody slipped and took a pretty good fall. He sprained or broke an ankle and got a gash on the back of his head. Brody slept for a couple of hours and then they continued toward Fairbanks. It was the next day before they noticed a campsite. The campers tied them up and went to find the state troopers. They returned quickly after looking through Brody's wallet and noticing the US Marshall badge. They untied Brody and Arianna and drove them into Fairbanks. Brody called a friend who had recently retired to come pick them up. They stopped to pick up some food when Brody saw another Marshall get out of a car nearby. It was Carla, a woman that he had dated a couple of times. He didn't know if she was there as a Marshall or as one of Rainwater's lackey's.
Charlie picked them up and took them to the cabin of a neighbor. He called the neighbor's sister, Willow, and told her that he would accept an offer to help her transport a couple of her horses to Anchorage. Brody kissed Arianna before he went to sleep that night. Arianna was awake as guard while the guys slept and she smelled smoke. She woke up the guys and told Charlie that she thought his place was on fire. Charlie left to stealthily check it out and she was right. They used his friends old truck and drove early to Willow's place to pick up the horses. They stopped to get gas and suspected that they were seen. They were waved down by a black SUV that had gotten gas while at the same station they stopped at. They t-boned the SUV and killed 2 of the guys who where trying to kill them. One was killed by the accident. They tied up one guy and a woman. Charlie called a state trooper friend who took them to an airport to get a ride to Seward. They arrived and a car was waiting for them to drive the rest of the way. They stopped to pick up some makeup and clothes that Arianna used to disguise them as older than they actually were. She knew what she was doing from working behind the scenes of stage productions during high school and college.
Brody tried to prevent himself from getting too involved with Arianna and Arianna was also fighting against her growing attraction to Brody. She knew that she was going to have to leave everyone and everything behind and go into the WitSec program. Brody told her that he wouldn't ever give up his life and family. A relationship between the two of them was doomed.
Charlie drove them into Anchorage after being held up by an 18 wheeler accident that looked to be intentional and seeing another car stopped on the roadside on the way in. That car had looked as if they were watching people passing by.
They broke in and stayed at the home of a Marshall who was on vacation. Charlie was good with computers and did some searching of other Marshall's on the case to see if they could find out who the mole was. They were betting on it being Mark, he was badly in debt that he had recently paid off but they still weren't sure.
Brody went to the prosecutors house and told him that Arianna was in town. He was sneaking back out from his place when two of Rainwater's assassins caught up with him. They took him inside and started beating him to find out where Arianna was being held.
Arianna, Charlie, Gus (a trooper friend) and Gus's cousin were in a van dressed as phone workers and heading to the courthouse. Arianna said she wasn't leaving without Brody and went to the prosecutor's house to see what was holding him up. They broke into his house and surprised the assassins. They tied them up while holding guns on them and took Brody with them. They would call the police to come pick them up later. They went to the courthouse and Arianna gave her testimony against Rainwater. They were leaving the courthouse when a police officer in the hall pulled out his gun to shoot Arianna. Brody jumped in front of the bullet.
Arianna was pulled away from Brody and told she was now in the WitSec program. She told the Marshall's that she wouldn't go with them until she saw for herself that Brody was going to be okay.
She got in the car to be taken to the hospital the next morning and was surprised to see him in the vehicle. She wanted to tell him she was in love with him but held back because she knew she had to let him go. He had been shot in the arm and was told that would would heal completely in time. One bullet had grazed his head and another had cracked a rib. Brody told her that Rainwater had been found guilty of murder and the mole had been Kevin. His brother was in the military and had recruited Kevin to help him steal military weapons for Rainwater's organization. Arianna kissed Brody on a clear area near his lips, thanked him and told him goodbye. Brody's face was still a mess from the beating he had taken from Rainwater's assassins. She felt her heart break as they parted.
Nine months later, now as Kim Wells, she was working on her horse ranch in Wyoming a strange car came up her driveway. She pulled out her rifle and waited. She was surprised to see Brody step out of the car. He told her that he was no longer happy with his job. It had taken 5 months of rehab to get him back to work. He told her that he was in love with her and all he wanted was her. He was in love with her and was willing to join her in the WitSec program if she would marry him. She told him she was still in love with him and kissed him.

Wow oh wow, what a great book! This is one of those books where you pick it up and decide to read a few chapters before calling it a night.....then before you know it, you've finished and it's only been a few hours since you started. Yup, I couldn't put this one down and literally kept turning the pages faster and faster to see what happened next to Ariana and Brody.

I was in complete awe of what they have to do to survive! Ariana has to conquer her fear of raging water, they both get beaten up by the Alaskan wildlife, and this villain was SOOO frustrating in his methods of stalking them! This is one bad guy that WON'T let up and I was VERY eager to see him pay up.

My favorite person in this book was Charlie. I loved his involvement, his humor, his fast thinking, and his computer knowledge. It's always great having a friend like him with a suspense book :)

Ariana is more than just a bodyguard, she's an amazing character that I don't relate to but loved reading about!

I think Margaret Daley does her best writing with books in the mystery/suspense category. I have liked all her books that I have read in that category. This book is no exception. With the main characters trying to out manipulate some dangerous, unscrupulous people hired to kill them and not knowing whom to trust, there are several exciting, suspense-filled moments. This novel was a good read. It is the fifth book of the Guardians, Inc. series.

Action packed. Bodyguard Arianna Jackson is days away from testifying at a murder trial when her Alaska safe house is attacked. Her and US Marshall Brody Callahan are left to escape on their own and fight their way out. Will Brody be able to keep Arianna safe and alive and they trek through the wilderness making their way to Anchorage? who can they trust? There must be a mole in the Marshall's office for them to have found her. Will they survive?

This whole series has been filled with memorable characters. Arianna is employed by Guardians, Inc. and was guarding a woman who was afraid of her husband. As they return to the woman's home, Arianna hears gunshots from within the home. She protects her client and goes to investigate, ending up as the witness to a murder. She is able to neutralize the shooter but then has to enter WitSec until she can testify at the trial.

I enjoyed the characters and the suspense was intense. I felt like some of the thoughts/feelings of the characters were excessively repetitive, but overall I cared about them and enjoyed the ending.

I loved this book and once I started reading I did not put it down until I was finished! I gave this book 5/5 stars. The story is about a women, Arianna, who is a bodyguard and how her life changes when she witnesses a murder. She is used to being the one guarding not the one being guarded. When her hideout is found out she has to learn to trust U.S. Marshall Brody who is now in charge of guarding her! Arianna is trying to stay alive long enough to get to the courthouse to testify but the murderer has his men out looking for her. When U.S. Marshall Brody and Arianna begin to run from the house they were found they encounter a forest fire and a rapid filled river. What they don’t realize however, is this is just the beginning of a very long journey! Will they make it through together? Will they fall so much in love that it clouds their ability to stay safe? I cannot recommend this book enough! I enjoy most of the Love Inspired Suspense books but so far this one has been my favorite. There is so much action and the story itself is even believable. I would recommend this book for anyone who likes Christian suspense and love stories!

I would like to thank the publisher for the copy of this book I enjoyed reading. I gave an honest review based on my opinion of what I read.

Guardians, Inc.
Book 5

This is the fifth book I've read, and it's my favorite so far! By the way, event though this is a series, the books are stand-alones. They all take part in different parts of the country (Alaska for this one), and are only linked by the Texas-based company the female role's are a part of. The only person mentioned in more than one book is the owner of the company, and only in passing (her story is in book 3).

In this book, Arianna Jackson witnesses the head of a crime ring kill the husband of the woman she's protecting. She will now have to go into the witness protection program. Until she testifies, she's guarded by US Marshals in a safehouse in Alaska...

Things start happening pretty fast in this book - which I like. There are some pretty ugly things that happen in this book - which I like. The author did such a great job setting this story up. I actually got emotional at the first (of many) confrontation with some of the bad guys. Things got worse and worse as the story went on, but that's what made it good! Basically, Arianna and Brody were running for their lives through the entire book...

The romance was sweet - kinda one of those forbidden loves where both know it'll never work, but they can't stop their hearts from falling hard...

Like I said, probably the best of the entire series!

This book tell the story of US Marshal Brody assigned to protect Arianna, who is days away from testifying in a murder trial. Arianna is a bodyguard engaged to protect her client from her husband in a nasty divorce proceeding. The husband was killed and the crime boss was caught by the authority. And now, Arianna who witness the murder is now protected by the State. Brody is the second team to protect Arianna and on the night after their relieving the first group, they were being ambushed by two gunmen. One of Brody’s colleagues was killed and the other went missing. Brody together with Arianna, leave the safety house into the jungle to outrun the gunmen. They embarked on an adventure to get to Anchorage where the trial is going to be conducted. And it was during this journey, both Brody and Arianna get to know about each other and find that they are attracted to each other.

This is the fifth book under the Guardian Inc series and is my second read from the series. I like Arianna for her determination and rightfulness. She knows that by testifying in court, she will have to leave her identify behind after that when she entered into the security programs. This book is a short filled with suspense story and I enjoyed reading it. ;)

Bodyguard Arianna Jackson was in protective custody in a safe house waiting to testify against the man who murdered her client. When gunmen invade the safe house and open fire, leaving several U.S. marshals dead, marshal Brody Callahan and Arianna escape through the Alaskan wilderness, with the defendant sending out his goons determined to eliminate Arianna, considered the star witness, and Brody suspecting a mole in the U.S. Marshals office has compromised their location.

Short, fast, suspenseful read. Both Brody and Arianna develop strong feelings for each other during their ordeal, knowing full well that after the trial Arianna will have to go into hiding with a new identity, never again to see family and friends. Both look to God to watch over them as they struggle to survive and as they contemplate their future.

Maybe even more. It was an exciting story. It was great to have a book set where I live, in Alaska, even though there were a few technical details which could be quibbled. Nevertheless, the author knew there was a clock tower on the Fairbanks train station!!!!!!! Little details like that go a long way, as most people "Outside" [anywhere not Alaska] know very little about the State. If they have been on a cruise to the Southeast, they think they have"seen Alaska." Instead, the author was familiar with both Anchorage and Seward. SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!! In addition, it was nice to have a very strong female protagonist, and VERY nice that she "saved" the male protagonist, rather than the usual "other way around."

Guarding the Witness is a Love Inspired Suspense. I’ve enjoyed all of the books I’ve read in this line, and this book was no exception. Margaret Daley is adept at drawing the reader quickly into the emotional dilemma of the main characters. The male and female protagonists are strong and well-developed characters, who depend on God to get them through their rocky circumstances. This story is filled with rapidly changing action and speeds along from beginning to end. It never slows down, but provides a satisfying ending to the exciting story.

I recommend this book to readers who enjoy a quick, suspenseful story that brings two people together as they go through dangerous and life-threatening situations.

I enjoy reading Margaret Daley's books. She has a way of putting her all into a story and this one is no different. The story of Arianna and Brody on the run after Arianna's safe house is attacked is a story of courage and excitement. I literally found myself getting into the story from page one and didn't want to put the book down until I finished it. I enjoyed the exciting story line as well as Margaret's weaving of faith through the story and enjoyed watching the transformation of the characters as they journeyed through. I definitely would recommend Guarding the Witness to anyone who enjoys a good romantic suspense! Congratulations, Margaret on another good read!

Love Inspired Suspense Guardians, Inc. series Guardian/Bodyguard Arianna Jackson is now under protection after seeing a client murdered. Brody Callahan is now on protection detail. How hard is it to be sent into Witness Protection when you have fallen in love and can never see him again or your family?

there are some unanswered questions so I hope there will be another book in the series.

This was one of my favorite suspense novels by Margaret Daley. I liked how both characters were strong and able to take care of themselves. Even though they faced one challenge after another, I was never stressed out because I trusted they could handle the situation. This allowed me to keep turning the pages and enjoy the story progression.

Margaret Daley has many books published, and she still manages to come up with an intriguing story every time. GUARDING THE WITNESS pairs a bodyguard Arianna Jackson with U.S. Marshal Brody Calahan in their journey through Alaska to victory. Arianna is independent and strong, but even she learns that she has to rely on God.

This book was full of non-stop action. I really felt the danger that Arianna and Brody were in. I was emotionally drawn in, finding myself getting upset that they just couldn't seem to get a break. Sometimes the shorter Love Inspired books don't feel like a full story, but this one definitely has the whole package. Great read! I want to read more by this author.

Bad guys, moles, and a girl headed to Witness Protection. Loved this story by Margaret Daley in her Guardian Inc. series. Happy to read there's at least one more coming.

There was plenty of suspense and question about who the mole was to keep my attention and the pages turning.
