Her first Temptation novel, ONE WICKED NIGHT was a finalist for BEST SHORT CONTEMPORARY NOVEL OF 1998 by Romance Writers of America. Jo teaches writing at workshops across the country and on-line, and is a frequent guest speaker at writing conferences. Her tape on Advanced Plotting from the Dallas Romance Writers of America conference is the best selling tape in RWA’s history.
Jo lives in an incredibly rural area of Utah where her many rescue dogs have room to run and play and her rescue cats are determined to win the International Shedding Award. She spends an inordinate amount of time reading about how the brain works, listening to music and trying not to kill the basil.
Jo's husband died of cancer on 13 June 2008, three years after they married, and whose medical bills are astronomical. Authors, editors, and bloggers have all donated a mess of items, from books to critiques to mentoring sessions to offer an item for the auction to benefit author Jo Leigh.
Demikian pula dgn Cassie yg sok-sok an menganalisis psikis John. Selanjutnya adegan intim jg nanggung, hot kagak, steamy saja. Terakhir, krn author juga sok-sok dibuat konflik, eh konfliknya jg menye-menye dan rasanya sangat sepele gitu, gak penting banget. Yasudahlah, namanya juga Harlequin, apa yg mau diharapkan juga.
3 Stars – All the Right Moves is an adult contemporary/military romance by Jo Leigh, and part of the Harlequin Blaze Uniformly Hot! series. The Few. The Proud. The Sexy as Hell!
Air Force Captain John Devlin, call sign—the "Devil," lives for high-risk maneuvers in and out of the cockpit. But finds himself at a crossroads in his career with less than two weeks to decide whether he should reenlist or shed the uniform and leave the only job he’s ever loved. Sitting in the cockpit, strapped in and moving fast over the world he always feels alive and focused. But recently, it’s when he comes back to earth that things have gotten confusing. So when the “Devil” meets his match in a fiery little bartender who wants nothing to do with fighter jocks, he begins to question if the one thing missing from his ideal life has nothing to do with flying, and everything to do with the woman he wants to fly home to?
A flyboy—even a wickedly hot one!—is the last thing Cassie O'Brien needs. Between her brother—a veteran who lost his leg to an IED in Iraq, turning him into a wounded, antagonistic stranger—the bar, and graduate school, she is stretched to her limit. Yet the scorch and sizzle between them proves to be too much temptation, and Cassie gives in to sweet, sweet sin. But when she sleeps with the “Devil,” she gets more than she ever bargained for.
I just love a man in uniform! Although wrapped up a little too abruptly—and neatly, All the Right Moves is a fun, sexy, steamy read with a satisfying HEA, perfect for the beach or a lazy afternoon.
I don't usually add Harlequin romances to my books, because, for the most part, they're just fluff. And this one is no exception, except.....I really didn't like the Hero, Captain John "Devil" Devlin. God, he was full of more angst than a certain teenage girl in a love triangle with a certain vampire and a certain werewolf. Seriously, I just wanted to smack him upside the head.
I also didn't feel the chemistry between John and Cassie, the psychology grad student tending bar in her brother's bar. Although, how convenient, John needs to talk to someone about his midlife crisis, and there's a psych major right there. I know, I know....Harlequin Romance, where convenient coincidence is made to order....
Harlequin blaze series. Bk Nook. E-sampled. I really think this is a four but I think the current average rating is low so that's why gave the five. Our hero is really struggling with the issue of whether to reenlist as a top gun pilot in the Air Force. Cassie is almost ready to graduate with a masters in psychology. She is keeping the bar going for her wounded veteran brother Tommy. The sex in this book wasn't that interesting 2 me but the story around it was. Setting: Las Vegas. My first book by this author. [I am really getting tired of all the bare male chests on the covers of these books!]
Captain John Devlin, USAF Fighter Pilot, is trying to decide what to do with his career. Faced with the death of one of his best friends and the other no longer eligible to fly, he questions whether he still belongs in the USAF.
Cassie O'Brien is just trying to get through school without killing her brother. Injured in Iraq, he has a chip on his shoulder and is making life difficult for Cassie and everyone around him.
Lumayanlah... walau huruf yg digunakan agak mengganggu krn agak kebesaran dr yg normal diterbitkan, tapi jalan ceritanya lumayan. Jadi overall not bad lah, cukup menghibur utk dijadikan bacaan weekend ini.
Good book! It is the 1st paperback I have bought in almost a year. The ending good, it just felt rushed for some reason. I will read it again at some point and maybe have a different thought for the book.
I quite liked it at first, but somehow it went down the hill pretty fast that I had to stop reading for days and read something else. But maybe it's because I read the translation version. I wonder if there'd be a story about Lisa and Tommy. :D
