Dustbin Dad

Rate this book
Do you leave food on your plate at mealtimes? If you do, beware, it could lead to all sorts of trouble . . . The dad in this book has a penchant for leftover food - even the bits that are soggy and chewed! He eats EVERYTHING - unfinished sandwiches, cold soggy fries, unwanted broccoli, half eaten pies! But when, one day, he accidentally guzzles the cat's Puss-Pep-Up Powder, strange things start to happen . . .

Bought this as a prank Christmas gift for my Dustbin Dearest who is always finishing our kids' plates.
Lyrically written, humorously illustrated, and containing a wise lesson ;-)
Our daughter and I have read this one many times at bedtime.
Did not get much response from the dad in question. And he is still eating any leftovers he can find. May need to subtly offer this reading material to him once more.

Hilarious book to read to younger kids. My boys were laughing at the antics of the Dad in the story, who actually turns into a cat. Great illustrations too. I've now read this at least 10 times.

An amazing book which has great examples of similes and comparisons which can be made for children to laugh at and giggle. I would highly recommend this book to year 1-2 classrooms

This was another funny that kept my nephews enthralled from start to finish. Whilst the story follows the adventures of a dad who eats all the scraps it ends up having the meaning of children eating all their food. the illustrations are amazing and add such a great new level to the story.

My little brother wanted ABSOLUTETLY for me to read it. I don't like so much little "kiddy" books, but I tried that one out.
IT WAS THE FIRST BOOK THAT I HAVE EVER READ TO MY BROTHER THAT I READ OVER AND OVER AGAIN!

... such a good book.

Its amazing-ness may be partially due to my husband's fantastic dramatic reading of it.
