I Can Only Imagine is the first condensed ebook in Karen Kingsbury's The Rest of the Story series. In it, Karen shares very personal behind-the-scenes anecdotes about herself and her family that appear nowhere else in print, highlighted by her touching relationship with her late brother Dave. With heartfelt grace, she describes in-depth his ongoing struggles with addiction and his troubled journey toward redemption. Throughout this work, we're all reminded that we have just one chance to create a bestseller with our lives by loving well, laughing often, and finding true life in Jesus Christ.
Karen Kingsbury, #1 New York Times bestselling novelist, is America’s favorite inspirational storyteller, with more than twenty-five million copies of her award-winning books in print. Her last dozen titles have topped bestseller lists and many of her novels are under development with Hallmark Films and as major motion pictures. Her Baxter Family books are being developed into a TV series slated for major network viewing sometime in the next year. Karen is also an adjunct professor of writing at Liberty University. In 2001 she and her husband, Don, adopted three boys from Haiti, doubling their family in a matter of months. Today the couple has joined the ranks of empty nesters, living in Tennessee near five of their adult children.
This book is a good book even though it is kinda short. We all go through struggles of some sort in our lives and no matter what kind of struggle we may be facing or going through God will always be sure to get us through it. But we have to believe and have faith and trust him that he will help us through because he loves us all so very much.
Why a surprise blessing? Because of all the books I downloaded that I share with my mom, God chose this one for me to read. Because, this author, nothing personal, is my mom and sister's favorite, but God knew this book I needed today. For anyone searching this is the book you never thought you'd read and couldn't put down and was blessed in so many ways. My humble thanks.
This is a very good book. It talks about her and her husbands life and how she never gave up on him even after he passed away. I think others will enjoy this book too. It was a short story but I thought it was a very good short story though. It talked about some of the other books she wrote too. I think that she’s an awesome author and she’s actually one of my favorite authors so far.
I have always enjoyed Karen Kingsbury books and this one is no different except it’s a true story from her own family. It seems no family is immune to addiction and its consequences. Thank you Karen for being so transparent.
Great short story! Heartwarming, but sad! True stories don’t always have a happy ending, but, actually this ending is happy. Read the story to see why.
Reallife love consistency faith and hope. Resultion in life changing faith in Jesus Christ. Encouraging and uplifting. However the book is short and to the point.
Karen kingsbury is my favorite author. So I wasn't surprised at how this book turn out. It was very good. I bought it tonight and finished it already. I couldn't wait to read it. I eat and drink her books it's like sitting down and eating a really good meal. If that makes cents to you....lol.. But I also learn to love well and learn much. When I start reading her books I open my ears and my heart and I'm ready to receive from God.
Karen shares the story "behind the scenes." It is the story of the heart - how hard it is to love family members that refuse healthy love. It is an encouragement to love well and learn much and through perseverance/endurance, sometimes these hard people turn to God. For her brother, it was a song made by MercyMe called, "I Can Only Imagine."
Awesome short story..... I am a fan of Karen Kingsbury. All of her books are amazing stories.
This story is about her brother Dave. God is there waiting for us to open the door of our hearts and let Him come in to reside. We never know how much time we have on this earth, so let God speak to your heart and don't waste a minute more.
Great story of true salvation when someone is looking for the real and only savior with a lasting peace and knowledge of where you are going who you will spend eternity with.
The firs couple of pages had me wondering. Glad the author ended up sharing that strangling people with the bible does not turn their hearts to Christ.
