If you have an appreciation of the photographer's art then this is a book that should definitely be on your shelf.

I just love looking at old photographs, especially of people caught unprepared. The dirty faces. The shoeless feet. The hungry eyes. The hopelessness. The soot. The posters. The shops. The cars. The cobbled streets. The austerity. The make do and mend mindset. The survival instinct laid bare.

There is something beautiful according to some aesthetic or other (and often something surprising too,) on every page here.
