Jim Muehlhausen

Like most entrepreneurs, Jim Muehlhausen has done a little bit of everything—ranging from CPA, franchisee, attorney, business owner, consultant, franchisor, public speaker, university professor, and book author.

While still attending the Indiana University Maurer School of Law, he became the youngest franchisee in Meineke Discount Muffler history (1987–1991). After successfully selling that business, Jim founded an automotive aftermarket manufacturing concern. During his nine-year tenure with that business, the company achieved recognition from Michael Porter of the Harvard Business School and Inc. magazine in the IC 100 Fastest-Growing Businesses.

About twenty years ago, he found his true passion, serving as a consultant, business coach, and advisor to hundreds of businesses. He has conducted 10,000+ one-on-one consulting sessions with business owners around the globe. He has written three well-regarded books, The 51 Fatal Business Errors and How to Avoid Them, and Business Models for Dummies, Half-Retire: Keep Your Income, Ditch the Stress, and has contributed to publications such as Inc., The Small Business Report, Entrepreneur, BusinessWeek, and various business journals.

Zawsze dość sceptycznie podchodziłem do serii "for dummies/dla bystrzaków", ale tę pozycję polecił znajomy podczas obozu dla przedsiębiorców Founders Camp i szczerze przyznam, że się nie zawiodłem! Bardzo dobra pozycja, w ciekawy sposób opisuje kwestie modeli biznesowych i zawiera mnóstwo wartościowych przykładów. Już w trakcie czytania zainspirowała mnie do kilku działań i określenia kilku dodatkowych elementów, które nie są ujęte wprost w business model canvas Osterwaldera (w szczególności kwestie dotyczące innowacji oraz strategii exitu).
Polecam tę książkę zarówno początkującym jak również bardziej doświadczonym przedsiębiorcom - można z niej wynieść wiele wartościowych wniosków i przemyśleń 👍💪

I really liked it.

I read many business books. This book had an unusually fluid tone. It was very informative and engaging. I definitely recommend this as a gateway book for business model learning.

Excellent advice especially for those who want to start a business. It is also useful for investors, providing one factor in judging if a company is a good one to invest in.

so this was my first for dummies experience and i loved it
great in depth analysis of all parts of business model with amazing real examples
a must read for all beginner-intermediate business people
really helped me
totally gonna read his other book 51 mistakes soon
