Becoming a highly spiritual Christian needs to be the goal of every believer. Love in itself is an action and should be practiced habitually by everyone. We through love should be fervently seeking the Lord, and cherishing one another. We must be constantly portraying the heart of God toward one another on a habitual basis. As it is written, "Do not be 'Evil company corrupts good habits.'" 1Co 15:33 In this book we will distill the best habits down to the seven most productive ones. If practiced properly, they will carry over into every other category of life and drive you to become a highly spiritual Christian.

I gave this book 5 stars because not only was it easy to read but it was full of detail information with scriptures. I read this book every morning and used it as my devotional study and it truly touched me. I learned so much from it and I got to read it for free on my kindle :). I recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a deeper relationship with the Lord.
Great read overall. Gives 7 habits in total for you to take on and to stay close to God. These habit will help anyone in there daily walk and devotion to God. It's a nice pick me up book or spiritual refresher. However, you want to look at it, all habits would be helpful to any believer. No matter where they are in their walk.
The author mainly referenced scriptures throughout the book which is ok but I was expecting more teaching than just a reemphasizing of scriptures. Still a worthwhile read.
What a great read. I learned so much reading this book. I love the fact that bible scriptures were applied for each habit and explained, encouraging me to apply them to my daily living. Easy read and straight forward.
Tis book is written in such a way that it is easy to follow and understand. I you are Christian and seem like your just going though the motions I recommend this book.
If you want to be all Christ has called you to be, this is a great book for you. I have been truly enlightened by this book. Must add to your list of books to read
I chose to give this book 5 stars because its brought a new light into my thinking. This book really shares with you the truth of what it means to be a christian. I enjoyed this book and have already recommended it to others that I know.
I usually shy away from titles like this one, expecting the book to be just another man-made method for becoming a better this or that. I was happily proven wrong with this book. It was such an inspiring work, serving to remind and clarify so many things about my daily walk with God, as well as teach me many more, making great and extensive use of the Scriptures, which I appreciated. I think that every Christian who is serious about becoming the person God has called them to be can benefit from this book in one form or another. I did not find any disturbing contradictions as some claim, and even in one or two instances where I wasn't sure I agreed, I quickly checked the Bible myself for clarification.
The only thing I had trouble with is how long and at times repetitive the book becomes. It took me months to actually finish the book, because I found it quite hard to read. The Kindle format also was not accurate with its paging system, which meant I never quite knew how much longer I had in the chapter, but it always seemed too long. Don't get me wrong, it was full of goods and I never skipped a section or a page, always feeling blessed at what I was learning, but the book would have benefited greatly from being more compact, or at least split in more sections, so that the reader does not get tired and can resume reading expecting less fatigue. I would read it again, if that were the case.
I still greatly recommend this book to any Christian out there looking to strengthen their relationship with God and striving to become more like Jesus.
I always feel I get so much out of Adam Houge books, it doesn't matter if it one of his short pamphlets or his books. I thought this book seemed rather interesting and I was right. The seven habits are easy to understand but it will take a lifetime of praying and having faith in God,Jesus and the Holy Spirit in my life. The habits that he writes are everyday prayerful ones that you need to believe and need to believe you can achieve all of them in reading and meditation on the word of God the Bible. Most of all you need to realize you most obey Jesus Christ commandment to love everyone including yourself.
I didn't really like this book. he seems to border on legalism and also seems to contradict himself such as when he says:
“… faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10: 17) And again, “For by grace you have been saved through faith…” (Ephesians 2: 8) We are saved by hearing and obeying the words of God through practice. We must be diligent to obey the Holy Spirit and carefully listen for His voice in our lives.
First he says we are saved by faith and then he says we are saved by hearing and obeying the words of God. Also, he says words, not word of God. That's because he puts hearing from God on an equal level as the written Word of God
Overall the author outlines good habits to establish a relationship that can help you grow closer to the Lord. However, in my opinion some of the chapters drag on harping on the same point over and over. Additionally at other points the book reads as a pep rally to pump you up. All that being said the message is good and accurate to scripture, just not my style of written theology.
Too repetitive. They should have gotten to the point for each of the seven things instead of trying to beat the stuff into your head. The sections were to repetitive and long and drawn out. I didn't read the whole thing. I skipped to different sections and read a little in each. The paragraphs were never ending. Great message it is just too long and repetitive...
A Must read for believers or anyone who has lost touch
A great and annointed piece. I read this book when I had lost touch with the spirit of God. Every habit covered and every scripture quoted rekindle my lost fire. By t h e time I read the conclusion I felt this clarity of mind and a strong desire to spend time with God and ammend my ways. Great insight supported by scripture.
I had to give this book a 5 star rating. The wisdom and insight from The Word of God! Yes, it is long but full of encouragement to apply what we know of God's word in a very practical way. Some parts will make you pause and chew on the epiphany!! Wow!! I'm starting it over because I know I can glean again!!
This was not what I expected. The way it is written makes me think it is telling you to join a cult. It says you have to be perfect to go to heaven although nobody is perfect.
These seven habits are ideals for every Christian to live by. This is much more than simplistic self-help prose. It is deep, thoughtful, exhortation intended to provoke serious self examination leading to a more holy and God-centered life.
The book contained some thoughtful insight but it wasn't what I was expecting from then title and I didn't really enjoy then writing style or format of the book.
Great book! Thought provoking, inspiring and a true life-changer. I appreciate Adam's insight into what is really meaningful in this journey called life.
