A short and inspirational book that highlights a man role in furthering the kingdom of God while here on Earth. Puts into perspective the value of each life and its impact on the big piture.

Excellent little devotional written by Jim George, one of the saintliest men who lived.

I picked up this little booklet for my husband since I know he is limited on time each morning and I wanted to help him start his days out with a message from God. I figured he could either read it at home before leaving or could keep it in his truck to read as soon as he gets to work, since sometimes he is a little early. As is the case with the One-Minute Inspirations for Women, these entries are also short and easy to read, taking very little time to get through, yet packing a powerful punch that readers can learn from. My husband says it has been informative and encouraging to read. And author Jim George starts off with “It is my prayer that this practical book of exhortations and inspirational thoughts will help you remember that God is not looking for perfection.   All He asks for is a man who is progressing in his desire to become a man after God’s own heart.” Let Jim George help you start each day with the right mindset. Be encouraged by his words and find the strength to be a man after God’s heart, just as the author stated.

There were some gems in this book. However, the focus seemed to be on one experience of masculine experience that is tied to a particular generation and culture. It would have been nice if George were less assuming of the trials of men and allowed for more a plethora of experience. I wonder too why George and his wife couldn't combine their efforts into one source of insights for all people.

I read/used these short reads on rush days. I usually pray, then read the Bible and study a passage or theme and then read in a book with a pastor's insights on topics. On rush days instead of the pastor's study I used this short insight book along with the usual prayer and Bible time. It worked well. It took me nine months to complete this book , The short readings are good.

This book gives good insights for men about various aspects of life. It can be sought out for ideas when a particular area of life may be a bit challenging.

A decent read with some good reminders from Scripture. All-encompassing as well in that it follows a clear progression in discipleship topics for men, but I do wish the perceived struggles of readers with sin and temptation would not revolve only around sexual ones.
