It's so short that I can't really say it's the best source for the Italian language but it is great for basic conversation for navigation purposes. It was fun to learn new vocab and phrases!

I've spent a month on "Conversational Italian in 7 Days," which is as long as the library allows. I know more Italian than I did before. I think I can ask an Italian if he or she speaks English. After that, I'm in trouble.
This is much more a problem with the student than with the teacher.
A real-live tutor would be better, though. The student isn't very disciplined. Che peccato.

If you're planning on a short vacation in Italy, don't plan on speaking to anyone aside from your hotel clerk, waiter, or bus station attendant, and want to learn some handy phrases to regurgitate, this book will do just fine for your needs. If you're actually planning on learning the language, don't bother.
