A quick read that is a fairytale retelling of Baba Yaga. This was creative and fun to read! I also really like the cover.

Until You Scream is a bonified phenomenal read! The second person writing style puts the reader in Vasilisa's shoes and subjects them to everything she experiences as she runs away from the man she was supposed to marry. She finds herself in the presence of Baba Yaga, a witch who could give her everything she wants, or take it all away.

This story brings a fun twist to a Russian/Slavic folktale and shows you that you don't always have to fear the witch... sometimes you can embrace her. I'd recommend that you read this alone because it has some very spicy scenes; I sat next to a friend as I read this and I don't have a good poker face at all.

A quick erotic read!! Although short, you get immersed into this world of this strange house and awareness where you can easily picture the witch and the room they are in. The pleasure is well written as well as the descriptions. It would be amazing to see more of this world!

This is the first book written by MC Johnson that I have read and I really enjoyed it. I don’t tend to read books with horror as a tag but perhaps I will start now.

I enjoyed the twist to a Slavic folktale with Baba Yaga. The second-person POV took me a moment to get used to but it definitely pulled me into the book more.

It was short, spicy and very good. MC did a very good job at setting the scene for such a short book.

I really recommend giving it a read but make sure to check the content warnings first. I can say for certain that I will be reading more books written by MC.

I’m not a fan of anything written in the 2nd person POV to begin with, but 2nd person smut, absolutely no thank you. If pretending to fuck a fairy witch is your cup of tea, live your best life, I’m not here to yuck anyone’s yum. However, for me the cringe factor was an 11/10.

What in the fuckery did u just read?? 🤣🤣🤣
A friend recommended this to me and told me to rate it purely from vibes alone. Because initially when I finished it, I literally could rate it 😂
But you know what? It was a smutty, short, interesting read! 3x spicy scenes over 87 pages. Written in 2nd person, which is a first for me. Single POV.

A few days ago, MC Johnson posted a reel on Instagram with a little trailer for this book. My finger was covering the left side of the screen when the title of the book came up and I read it as: Until You Cream. I was like… done! Sold!

I knew going into this, it would be a short story. At only 41 pages, this was a short novella for sure. The story is told from second person, so everything was “You did this” and “You felt that”. It was the first book I had read with this style and I found myself not understanding how to connect with it. Its not to say that people don’t like second person, but in fiction or even erotic fiction I think that you don’t see it very often and can limit its readership.

The novella was pretty much one long scene… one long sex scene. One very long BDSM sex scene. That in itself is good, but I wanted more story. I wanted more story upfront. I wanted more at the end. I think if the story would have been told in either first person or third person, I might have been left feeling more satisfied with what I was given but I could not connect to YOU, I needed it about me.

From what the back matter said, this seems to be an excerpt for something bigger. Which in that case, lets see where this goes. BDSM witchy horror could be fun, and I’d like to see were the author takes it.

I’d also like to ask for adjustments on the interior formatting. Spacing between paragraphs my have made the book seem longer, but in most books, there isn’t that much blank space on the page.

Overall, it was a quick sex romp scene… which always makes me happy. And remember, these are just my opinions for this one story and does not apply to any other books MC Johnson has written.

Giving it one star only because I can't give anything zero.
Honestly my disappointment is palpable.
I came across this book when I saw the author's negative comment on my favorite authors book, so I thought? Hey, an author who may even be better(I've read all my fave authors books and needed more)
I got this first and I have never been more disappointment. Anyone who likes this book needs mental help.
It's a huge pile of cow dung, honestly.
Nothing about this book was enjoyable not even the smut.

A quick, dark & dirty sapphic romp

If witches that strike bdsm bargains with reluctant but willing runaway brides sounds like a good time to you, then you’ll definitely enjoy this story. The second-person pov makes for an immersive story where you can really feel the urgency and intimacy of the moment.

this written in second person tripped me out because personally absolutely not would I be doing the dirty with Baba Yaga 😭 ( not judging anyone who would)....... but I can’t say I didn’t enjoy the book because I did 🙈 (that’s all i'm saying).

Until You Scream was a spicy, quick, and very bizarre read that will take you to some rather…unexpected places. It is a dark, sapphic, Baba Yaga erotic fairytale. The 2nd person POV made it very interesting because it pulls you into the story, as though YOU are literally in it. MC did a great job of setting the scene for such a short novella. It involves some questionable consent and other things - make sure to check the TW/CW at the beginning!

What just happened?

I have no idea if this was good or not. This short, rapid-fire, Baba Yaga smut was unlike anything I have read before. It gets points for creativity and originality. It loses points for having very little substance and leaving me confused. It was almost entirely smut but I don’t think I found it to be particularly hot…. More just strange. If you unplug your brain a bit more than I did this would probably be very enjoyable.

Second person writing was very strange and put me off, but again ill give it points for originality.

I would like to see more from this author, I feel promising vibes.
