Akeisha is on a mission to be chosen as part of a harem for the desert king, Judas. She’ll use her body to entice and beguile, do anything it takes to save the near-extinct larakytes, her shape-shifting silver panther tribe, from Judas’ human subjects, who are trying to eradicate them.
She never expects to succumb to the wild ecstasy in his arms, a pleasure that threatens to expose her inner cat even as it transcends anything she’s ever felt from one of her own kind.
Falling in love with a human enemy was never part of the plan, but maybe there’s more to Judas than meets the eye.
I’m an award winning author who loves to write scorching hot contemporary and science fiction romance—stories I love to read. I love working from home, where my office window looks out over our ‘block’ of fourteen acres with gorgeous mountain views. After enjoying a stint as a foster carer for cats, I now have seven felines to entertain me, along with two dogs and two horses. But only when I’m not distracted by my three gorgeous daughters, one of whom—a teenager *shriek*—is still living at home. As for my husband…he’s still waiting for retirement.
I haven’t read a paranormal story for a long time and when I read the blurb of this book on MS Teshco’s newsletter I really thought I should read it, then a friend read it and reviewed it and that was it I bought it and have read it and I loved it, wow what a great story.
Akeshia is a shifter from the silver panther tribe and a princess and she is determined to do what she can to save her race from extinction. She makes her way to the humans and offers herself as a mistress to the King, but what happens when he chooses her is awesome, sensual and so very moving. Akeshia never thinks that she will feel the emotions she does as she falls for King Judas.
Judas is a strong and caring leader and there is a lot more to him than most people see and on first sighting of Akeshia he knows that she is the one that he needs and wants he feels her so strongly, and he has already set in motion some things that will make Akeshia smile and very happy that is if he can convince her of his feelings.
Of course a romance of deep love never runs smoothly and with some people that would want to harm Akeshia and take away the thrown from Judas, they have a fight on their hands. I loved Judas what a gorgeous hero he is and Akeshia perfect for him in every way. This story had me turning the pages as they become one in a world that still has a few problems to overcome (more books) but together they will grow and I do look forward to more in this series. Thank you MS Teshco for a truly fabulous story that will stay with me for a long time to come.
Lusting the Enemy is the start of a sensous and enticing new story in a world where shapeshifters and humans do not live in harmony. As one larakyte princess sets of to change the fate of her people, a human king with secrets of his own falls in love and changes the course of his country.
I have to admit, it took me a while to get into and finish this book. I was in a bit of a reading slump and couldn't get into reading even though I got obsessed with Judas early and fast. I even went to sleep one night with Judas on my brain. I kept replaying him in my mind over and over again, which kept me from falling asleep. Grrr ... Ms Teshco. I blame you for my poor night's sleep!! But of course, once I got past my reading slump, I picked up the book and glommed it.
First off, the world-building. Ms Teshco's world building is very subtle. She reveals the world in small pieces as we read the story and things about the world are expertly woven into the narrative. I still want to learn more about the humans and the world they live in though. It seems to be more of a fantasy world and more medieval than modern, but also quite modern with the use of language. I found that dichotomy a bit confusing. There was some swearing using the name of a Christian deity which surprised me and made me think I was mistaking the time period the book was set in but then I remembered that the religion has been around for more than 2000 years so it's quite possible people have been swearing in his name for a long time. Not that I'm a prude about swearing or anything like that, but when I read it, I was trying to place the time and setting of the world in my head. None of that really took away from my reading pleasure though because I was so hung up on Judas.
Oh my, Judas! Judas was yummy from the get-go. His gorgeous looks, his all-round hunkiness, and virility, but also the fact that he was a good king. He cared about his people and he was noble and just. But like Akeisha, Judas also had secrets of his own and boy, was his secret a doozy. It didn't surprise me that much but I liked it a lot. It made him even more special. Beyond being a fierce warrior and just king, Judas was also very tenderhearted. I loved the care and tenderness he showed Akeisha. He revealed a softer side to himself to her which was very endearing. And by the way, I know he's spoken for, but I'd seriously be willing to have Judas ravish me. Damn, the man is sexy!
I wasn't sure about Akeisha, to be honest. She seemed both naive and misguided to me for the better part of the story. While her intentions were good when it came to her plan to seduce Judas in order to save her people, she also ran away when she should have stayed and fought for Judas. I understood she carried a lot of responsibility on her shoulders, along with a lot of guilt for what happened in the past and even the present, but she really needed to trust Judas and give him a chance to explain himself and his plans. Instead she ran away. And she turned against him for the very thing he was afraid of. It seemed so unfair on poor Judas to me.
Despite a few hiccups along the way, I thoroughly enjoyed this story. There's going to be another story soon, if the sneak peek a the end of the book is any indication. I'm looking forward to that.
And one final shout out for the cover. I think Ms Teshco hit the jackpot with this cover. It's stunning. I'd have bought the book just on the cover alone without even reading the blurb.
I received this book from the author for a truthful review.
*Gulping down the ice water and turning on my fan*
Ladies let me describe this book is one word, "Holy-Mother-of-all-hawtness". OK so I kinda stretched that but you get my point, the book rocked. The book is about Akeisha who is a shape shifter and needs to seduce the king of the humans, Judas, to help save her people. Well lemme tell ya, the girl has mega balls. She has to go and stand outside in the blazing heat with 50 chicks and try and get Judas' attention to be part of his harem. Well when he walks by to "inspect her" , she gets buck naked...way to go Akeisha cuz lets be honest what man is gonna turn down a hot naked girl??? SOOOO he picks her (Duh like you didn't figure that right) and they have a night of "welcome to my castle" fun.
Judas is very smitten by his new lover but is hiding a secret of his own. He takes Akeisha all over town and is more impressed by her kind nature. She is also more and more smitten by the fact he isnt the cruel, ruthless leader she presumed he was.
I should mention their are humans who HATE shifters of any kind and seek them out to kill them. Akiesha and Judas run into some troubles with these bad peps and have a little rebellion. I don't want to tell you too much because it is a quick amazing read. I will say I did enjoy the twist the author threw in as Judas' secret. I also loved that Judas is a great alpha male character. Annnnnd, I loves me some alpha male!!!
Any way, I am defo going to be adding to my TBR list more of this authors books!!!
First off, I have to tell you all how much I LOVE this cover! Its sexy, dark, and just plain gorgeous. Another thing I like is the title. With the title being "Lusting the Enemy" it definitely made me interested and more then willing the read this book and it give it my honest review.
I really liked both Judas and Akeisha. Judas is SMOKING HOT and has just the right amount of arrogance to make him even hotter and he has such a strong protective need for his people and Akeisha. I thought Judas was mouthwatering good and was the perfect hero in this short story.
Akeisha is a feisty thing. She is gorgeous and also has the strong urge to protect her people as well. She definitely didn't expect to fall for who she thought was the enemy. Akeisha is strong willed, sweet, but is stronger then anyone realizes is definitely the perfect heroine.
In Lusting the Enemy, sparks fly between Judas and Akeisha and secrets get let out. There is lots of action, passion, hot sex, and just the right amount of drama to keep things interesting. I give Lusting the Enemy a FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS! For a short read with plenty of action and a steamy romance, Lusting the Enemy is the book you won't want to miss!
Although this is a quick read, I could definately read more of this entrancing world. I find Mel never ceases to make her characters very real and tangible. Whithin the first paragraph I felt connected to the protagonists Akeisha, a panther shapeshifter, and Judas Mahskam the great Zaneeam King. Even though her plan was thwart with danger Akeisha had no choice but to leave Scantia and venture to the desert kingdom to entrance the King with her beauty and persuade him to stop the slaughter of her people (of which she is their Princess); before it was too late and they would be forever killed into extinction. As a fellow Aussie and a an avid reader of Erotic Romance, it is exciting to see Australian backdrops combined with Romance books, as Mel has done with Galactic Burn and Galactic Inferno. If you haven't read any of Mel Tescho's books, firstly tsk tsk, I heartly recommend that you rectify it asap, and this book is a great place to start.

As a shape-shifter, Akeisha will do whatever is necessary to save the lives of her tribe, even if it means joining the harem of the desert king, Judas. Little does she know that Judas has a secret of his own…one that could completely change the game plan.
From the moment he sets eyes on Akeisha, Judas is drawn to the lovely woman. He will do everything in his power to make sure that she stays at his side, even if it means he has to defend her himself.
This is a short read that could lend itself to more development, but the author has added plenty of spice to make it a worthwhile read. The paranormal angle is especially interesting with the different types of shifters introduced. If you are looking for a quick weekend read, this should meet your needs.
I enjoyed the world created in this story. Fell in lust with the hero and heroine, and thoroughly enjoyed a great story full of action, sex and challenges.
