Sometimes, you have to run away
to find yourself.

Sometimes, you find yourself
where you aren’t looking.

Sometimes, you find yourself
only after you lose yourself.

Amisha has found her perfect man and is going to marry him, but suddenly feels the need to push the boundaries of their relationship. Akshara is in love with her best friend, but while he will give her benefits, he won’t give her his love. Ladli has had her heart broken, so she runs away, only to find it waiting for her at the other side. Shayna knows what she wants in a man, but the man she wants is nothing like that. And finally, the girl who wants Shayna, actually just needs a friend.

Cold Feet is the story of the strangely entwined lives of five women who live in Mumbai and deal differently with the same thing—love.

Cold Feet by Meenakshi Reddy Madhavan is a book about the lives of five girls: Amisha, Ladli, Akshara, Shayna and another girl, whose name is not mentioned, living in Mumbai.
Amisha is getting marries to Derek, an Australian, and she organizes a Bachelorette party where Akshara, Ladli and Shayna are invited.
Akshara is a teacher who teaches English to class X and is in love with her best friend, Mo.
Ladli is Akshara's roommate. She works in a small graphics design company, feels ditched by her boyfriend and goes to Goa.
Shayna is the weather girl, she works for a television channel.
The unnamed girl stays as a paying guest at Aunty B's house, and she is in live with Shayna.
Though the stories are nice, emotional and romantic, but I felt, I could not connect with the book. All the girls wanted was a man in their life. I usually finish a book in two days but this dragged on and on. Finally, I could finish it in ten days.

I can say I developed cold feet while reading this book, should I leave it or should I finish it……

The problem with this book is that all the characters are the SAME. They think the same way, and they behave the same way. There is nothing likeable about any of them; they are spoilt, bratty, and extremely childish.
This book reads like an extended blog post, like one of the author's musings on the upper-class twenty-something Indian condition. Unfortunately it has neither humour nor good writing nor plot to recommend it, and it falls rather flat.
I gave it two stars only because the subject is interesting. But don't waste your time. You Are Here, by the same author, is far better.

OMG! One of the most boring books I've read. Stereotyped characters doing stereotyped stuff. Even the characters are bored with their pathetic lives! There is no connection for the reader. Calling this book, 'India's answer to Bridget Jones' is doing grievous injustice to Helen Fielding and her great creation! Making a person read this book completely could be a great alternative to the Chinese water torture.

I could relate to a lot of things because this is a very Mumbai-happening kinds book. But then it was not a page turner, no strong characters, ends abruptly, and there was not a plot whatsoever. However, I like reading her blogs...so the other star.

It was alright. Not as good as her debut You Are Here. The writing was flat and uninteresting in a couple of places, the characters were bland but the stories were sort of catchy. I wouldn't recommend it to many people, but if you're bored, you could give it a shot.

Meenakshi takes us on a roller coaster ride of emotions and situations we humans tend to tangle ourselves in. There is a whole spectrum of emotions we are exposed to in the book, each giving us insight into the human psyche and how emotions are what make us. Break us. Are us. It does go a bit off track once-in-a-while. Full review: http://wp.me/p2DEiS-Fe
