Destiny…it’s really an interesting thought isn’t it…destiny.

Loralei Harper’s destiny was determined before her birth. It was very simple. She was expected to graduate from high school, marry Declan Sharp, and have two kids. She would stay at home with them, while her husband worked on the family farm. But the funny thing about destiny is…it can change in the blink of an eye. Now Loralei has to figure out what to do when everything changes.

Declan Sharp, a sweet country boy, grew up with Loralei. Their parents couldn’t have planned their relationship any better. Loralei was the love of his life and their future was bright, but sometimes life gets in the way of your plans.

Jaxon Daniels, a pierced, tattooed, badass with a gentle soul, just wanted to get out of the city and relax in the country for a little while. The last thing he was looking for was right in front of him. With skeletons in his closet, will he be able to hold on to the woman he loves, when the past comes out to play?

Cade Walker, a cocky cowboy, never gave love a second thought. Sex? Now that was a different story. After a drunken night, all of that changes when he feels something for Loralei...with his heart. This good ole boy learns that alls fair in love and war.

What happens when all of these lives cross paths? Whose destiny will change and who will get their happily ever after?

I grew up in a really small town in Missouri. Very similar to the fictional towns I write about. I moved to the big city right after I graduated. I work full-time and I am mom to a beautiful little girl.

I started writing in October 2012 when a group I am a member of had a prologue contest. I didn't win the contest, but everyone who read my prologue asked for more of my story. I decided I had to finish it and get these characters that were in my head out on paper. During the writing process it became clear that these characters had a lot to say. So I realized my story was really a series:

The Destined Series
Destined to Change (Available Now)
Destined to Succeed (Available Now)
Destined to Forgive (Coming Fall 2013)
Destined to Rock (Coming Winter 2013)
Destined to Overcome (Coming Early 2014)

I am a really boring person, so this bio is super short! This is really about all there is to know about me. Sad, isn’t it. lol

I love music and honestly couldn't write without my Spotify playlist. I am kinda obsessed with frogs (not real ones) and office supplies are my downfall! I could spend my whole paycheck at the stationery store...boring, didn't I already say that? lol

Also, I am slightly addicted to Facebook and Voxer. Please message me on either one...I would love to hear from ya’ll.

Fabulous! I absolutely loved this book.

It had a bit of Sweet Gum Tree feel to it, so for fans of that book, this is a must. It's like Sweet Gum Tree meets Lorelei James's Rough Riders series.

I was hooked from the prologue. I totally loved Declan. Oh how gorgeous was he?! And then sobbed like a baby before I'd even hit the first chapter. That's when I knew I was in for a good'un!

I cried so much whilst reading Loralei's dream of Declan and also her conversation with Eric. The writing was so emotive and really touched me.

This life is yours and you have to start living it. I want you to be happy. Do you hear me, Lor? You deserve to be happy.

This was such a brilliant story. It wasn't a simple 'guy meets girl, falls in love, it all blows up at 75% and then all is good by the end of the book'... this book was up, down, up, down, left, right, forwards, backwards! I didn't know what direction it was going in next. There were parts where I really didn't know how things could turn out okay.

Jaxon was incredibly sexy! He was a brilliant character and will have every female swooning within the first few chapters.

Jaxon, of course, my pierced, tattooed, knight in shining armour.

Aw, he's so damn cute. Such a tough exterior and the mandatory troubled past, but soooo in love with his Lor.

"I'm going to cuddle the shit out of you."

I felt sorry for Cade. He wanted Loralei so much and he was so determined to get her. Her indecision made my hear break for him.

Mags and Sammy, the twins, played a great part. Sammy was funny and cute. His relationship with Jaxon was gorgeous. And he had a fabulous smart mouth that only a beautiful little boy could get away with.

"Mommy, why is Jaxon in bed with you? Oh my God, did you see his penis mommy? Grandma, mommy saw Jaxon's penis!"

And Loralei was just brilliant. I physically felt her pain over losing Declan. What a terrible tragedy. But she was a strong, loveable, feisty female lead... I loved her little trip to slut-dom... it was real and desperate. But ultimately, I yearned for Lor and Jaxon to be together.

We were meant to be.
And that is how my destiny was changed forever.

This book is a stunning romance with the perfect amount of angst, steam, heartbreak and happiness. I strongly urge all romance fans to read this book. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

This was just an OK read for me. Definitely did not think it was a 5 or even a 4 star read. Heroine was 26 but a lot of the time she came across as much younger. I really did not get the Cade character and how he could have fallen so hard, so quickly for her. Jaxon was OK too but nothing to light my fire. Think my expectation were way to high after reading some reviews about…. Ah, well, you can’t win em all!

I received an ARC of Destined to Change in exchange for an honest review. I had added this one to my TBR on 12/28/12 so I knew it was something that interested me. The questionned remained how interested would I be. Well I'll tell you what I started this book and right out of the gates I was already doing this..................................

Destiny - 1. The events that will necessarily happen to a particular person or thing in the future 2. The hidden power believed to control what will happen in the future; fate. Ever thought about your Destiny? I'm sure at one point we all have. Of course I expected this book to be about Lorelei's Destiny but to what extent I didn't know until I started reading.

Lorelei was pretty sure her destiny was with her childhood friend & high school sweetheart Declan. The handsome star basketball player, son of her parents best friends, and her best friend. She had it all mapped out she was going to marry that boy, tend to the farm and have two children. Life has a funny way of throwing us a curve ball when you least expect it. This is something Lorelei learned at the age of 16 after celebrating her & Declan's birthday's down at the bonfire with her their friends. Oh yes Declan & Lorelei were born on the same date exactly a year apart. They went to the bonfire with their friends to include both of their BFF's Eric & Emma. Yes, it was a night to be remembered ~ in more ways than one.

Sometimes when I'm reading a book I get a feel for what's coming down the pike but I have to say with this book I had no clue what would occur nor how that event would change Lorelei's Destiny. Kudos to the author for this! Especially for an author who is about to release her first book! There was part of the book where I was doing this..........

Well 10 years and twins, Sammy & Mags, we see Lorelei in charge of her family's farm. She is going status quo day to day living but not really LIVING and who should enter the picture? Well her tattooed piereced knight in shining armor Jaxon. Jaxon's Uncle Jake works on the Harper's farm and Jaxon has just come out from California to Missouri to make some changes to his life. The first meeting between these two and I just knew that if I was standing in front of Jaxon I would of totally..

Oh yes nothing better than a "hot" bad boy entering the picture and getting his first look at a sweet country girl! I loved Lorelei and with all that this young lady had been through you could tell she was a strong and loving woman. She loved her parents and her children well those babies were her world. The author obviously has experience with living in farm country as the description of the farm was dead on! I never grew up on a farm but all my family live in Missouri and my cousins grew up on a farm where a John Deere tractor was equivalent to a Harley to those boys alas I regressive I'm supposed to be sharing this book! Well Jaxon didn't exactly fit the "mold" in this good ole' small country town. While reading I was picturing townsfolks reaction towards him to be something like this..................................

It was sweet watching Jaxon & Lorelei getting closer and spending more time together both trying not to get too close to the other but failing miserably. Jaxon didn't feel he was good enough for sweet little Lorelei. He has a past and what that past encompasses isn't revealed until much later in the book. I tried to take some stabs at it myself thinking oh it has to be this but when the past is revealed I so thought this.........................................................

As much as Jaxon hates to reveal his past to Lorelei he knew he needed to but the funny thing about or past it has it's way of revealing itself. Unfortunately for Jaxon it did so before he ever got a chance to explain the situation to Lorelei. Again refer to my reaction above and then think about what Lorelei's must have been. Girl I so would've.

Well Lorelei ends up meeting Cade a tall "sexy" cowboy with a southern drawl that just melts her in a heartbeat. Oh yes, this was getting good really good! This book was setting itself up for heartbreak galore and I knew emotions would be coming out with all parties involved. You know what my favorite part is this book was told from the different characters POV! LOVE THAT! Well folks the ride JUST began and so did the fun! So I think I should share what this ride entailed, don't you? Well there was some of this............................................

Heck whom I kidding there was a ALOT of that ;) But don't get too comfortable folks cause there are parts of this book where you will want to................................................................

There were times where I would've done this if I was Loralei...........

When the going got good, boy did it and it will have you...............

But when everything wrapped up I did this............................

I really enjoyed Lisa's first book Dstined to Change! It was a fun sweet read but don't think it's all sweet ;) This was a 4.5-5 star read for me. There were definitely alot of 5 star parts and just enough emotions mixed in there that I read this one quickly! I literally didn't put it down once I started! I loved the reference to "cowboy" which you won't understand until you read it! I did laugh at that part! Sammy & Mags were adorable and I got a kick out of them they really made me laugh.

I recommend you mark your calendar for the release date and snatch it up that first date! You won't be sorry! If this isn't already on your TBR mark it now! I'll be anticipating more books from Lisa in the future and can't wait to see if she incorporates characters from this one into another book! I'd love to see that!!!!! So Lisa KUDOS to you what a wonderful first book I enjoyed it immensely and I sincerely thank you for allowing me the opportunity to advance read Destined to Change!

I instantly fell in love with Declan, I mean what was not to love. He was a hottie, basketball star, sweet, compassionate, faithful, shall I go on? I could see where he and Lor were destined for one another. They were friends who became lovers. So wonderful. So I was reading along, loving it, consumed by it and it happened...........

I went from a permanent smile plastered on my face and straight to a melt down.

I completely understand why the events had to take place, because if it hadn't of happens we would of never gotten to meet Jaxon. HOT, SEXY bad boy, equipped with tattoos and piercings.

YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Every page I turned I thought I had it figured out but I was so wrong. The twist and turns had me clenching my tummy. I was nauseous, overjoyed, sad, hurt, disgusted, giddy, worried and I had some moments where I was screaming at the characters as if they could hear me lol.

Cade I give it to him he was a hot cowboy but I never fell in love with him, like Lor I loved Jaxon. I can't help it. I was drawn like a moth to a flame. He had me entranced. I was mesmerized!!!

I didn't hate Cade, I felt sorry for him, but did I want him and Lor together.....

Nope, no way, not happening.

So many twists and turns. I became captivated and consumed. I had to know what was happening next. Sometimes I was like........

I didn't know if I could take more. I was up and down so much. I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!

Stacy well she just made me.........

I loved how the book gave different pov's helps understand each character better. This book was fantastic. A story of destiny, love, loss, heartbreak, heartache, hope, forgiveness and second chances.

The author did an amazing job and totally rocked it. If you love angst then this is definitely a must read!!! Kudos to the author........

Destined To Change by Lisa M. Harley

I was given an ARC of Lisa M. Harley's new book Destined To Change with an anticipated release date in Feb 2013 and here is my review...

Destined To Change... When your whole life has been planned out for you, and the years follow Destiny's pattern, year by year, month by month, day by day... It's not until the darkest hours that you realize the most important are the minutes by minutes. Loralei Harper learns this life lesson... When I read Lisa M. Harley's "Destined To Change", I was absolutely gripped by the prologue... I had to have more... I needed to know what happened next...Then chapter 1 rocked my world!!! Lisa took me on a journey of life, love, loss, mistakes, right and wrong choices, healing and forgiveness. She made me laugh and cry and jump up and down with happiness! She made my heart & mind swoon... She introduced me to my favorite BBF, Jaxon Daniels (and he is MINE!) And she made my heart happy... I look forward to reading more of Lisa M. Harley's book's in the future... ❤

I see all of these great reviews and I'm thinking what is wrong with me? I couldnt even finish this book. Halfway through I just skipped to the last ten pages and skimmed through those just to see what happened. I feel horrible for leaving a one star review. I do. I know how hard it is to put yourself out there writing a book. But I also feel like I need to be honest and if more people were then we wouldnt have all these greatly reviewed books that really dont deserve them. Now, on to my review.....

This book was just not good. It could have been if more thought was put into it. I didnt like any of the characters. Jaxon, a little bit. I'm a sucker for a tatted up bad boy but again, no thought was put into it so he just didnt do it for me. The story was rather childish. In all honesty, it was dumb. I couldnt get emotionally connected to the characters. At all. I want to get sucked into a story, I want to feel what the characters are feeling, I want to go on the journey. This book just did not do that. I just wanted it to be over with...

I was given an ARC of Lisa M. Harley's new book ~Destined To Change~ for an honest review.

What would YOU do if your entire destiny changed in an instant?

I enjoyed this book, I wish it had been longer. I will admit right now, I burst into tears when i read the prologue...I found the book to be a delightful tale of one girl's life, and the hope and joy she discovers after some unforeseen circumstances. It was a sweet story about relationships and love that broke my heart, made me laugh, made me cry, made me smile, and, when it was over, sigh with happiness!

My first read by Lisa M. Harley and I look forward to reading MANY more from her.

4.5 stars!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book by Lisa M. Harley! :). I loved the characters and the banter between them!

Loralei had to deal with a lot at a young age and thought her destiny was set. But circumstances changed and she had to reevaluate her life and find a new destiny.

There's a lot of love, laughter and heartbreak in this book and well worth the read! You will be pulled in from page one and want to know what happens to these wonderful characters. You will go through a range of emotions throughout.

Please do yourself a favor and read this book! Thank you Lisa for your story!!

4.5 Destiny Lost and Found Stars

I watch a lot of baseball. And by "watch" I mean it is on while I read. My husband often flips between games and I get confused between who is playing whom. They all have on grey or white pants. Easily confusing. You know the saying "You can't tell the players without a line up card"? Yeah, that is what I was thinking of while reading this book. Well, that is after I thought...OMG GREAT BOOK. So this book is not Who's On First? Its more like Who's The Daddy?

Loralei and Declan were destined to be together. They knew it. Their parents knew it. Everyone except Lady Destiny knew it. Flash forward 10 years. Loralei has decided her destiny has changed and she is never going to find love again. And she is okay with that.

Jaxon is a tattooed, pierced, nice guy who has made some bad choices and needs to hit the reset button on his life. He is kind, gentle and just what Loralei needs to come back to the land of the living.

I am going to cuddle the shit out of you.

And when Loralie wakes up...She. Wakes. Up.

...my lady parts were doing a little happy dance

Everything is going well until its not. Enter Cade. Did my husband just change the channel. Who is this hunky dirty talking cowboy? Has anyone seen my line up card? Add into the mix an ex, a couple or three pregnancy tests, a hot weekend in a hotel, a motorcycle...you get the picture. Lots of action, lots of great characters, lots of emotion.

At the end I was on Team Jaxon, but I really can't wait for Team Cade to get his time in the spotlight. I mean...hunky, dirty talking cowboy. That I can tell without a line up card. Play Ball!

*I was given an ARC of Destined to Change in exchange for an honest review.*

From the beginning I was drawn into this book. Loralei and Declan were meant to be. The stars lined up for them and life was a perfect little slice of heaven. Having been friends since birth, sharing the same birthday and being around each other almost 24 hours a day, it was no surprise that they ended up together. Destiny was theirs. Until it wasn't. I felt for Loralei. I felt for Declan. I was emotional mess and I wasn't even past the first chapter of the book! But Loralei had more surprises on the horizon and that is where I fell in love with this book.

It had been almost 10 years since the night that changed her destiny and Loralei was a in a good place. At least she thought so. That was until Jaxson Daniels showed up on her ranch and her destiny seemed to go in a whole new direction. Now a single mom and running the family business, Loralei doesn't have time for romance. She is still stuck in her destiny gone wrong life and wondering where her destiny is head. Jaxson Daniels is running. But from what? He's secretive, a total mystery and trouble for Loralei - so she thinks. Jaxson falls for Loralei the moment he lays eyes on her. But can a tattooed city boy fit into a ranchers lifestyle?

This book was fun, exciting, heart wrenching and inspirational. Life can continue, with its ups and downs, twists and turns. We just need to learn to let go. There are heartbreaks, budding romances, betrayals, twists, turns and redemption all rolled into this story. At times I was on this roller coaster ride that had me dizzy with anticipation. I absolutely loved every moment in it!

I am very shocked at all the 5 star reviews. This book has so many problems. The writing is juvenile at best and the characters were just ok. Not a lot of depth. Its a sweet story and had a lot of potential. Its told from various pov's however you shouldn't have to go verbatim on the dialogue that was just written the page before, we can remember what was said. I couldn't get past the dialogue and almost didn't finish the book. I couldn't stand the character of Cade, he was just a smuck and I will not read the next book that is to be about him. He made my skin crawl and I never saw what Lorelei saw in him to begin with to actually be with him the second time when she wasn't drunk. Even the ranching storyline just seemed to be missing authenticity. I mean, who makes a decision to deliver a herd of cattle to a ranch and then sort out the "sick ones". If they are sick, don't deliver them. Who buys sick cattle? Did the cattle ever arrive? if so I missed it. Luckily I only paid .99 cents for this book.

I was given an ARC of Destined To Change. I was hooked from the prologue. I fell in love with Declan the very first time he appeared. Lor was a sweet, intelligent and mature young woman. Jaxon looked tough on the outside, but had a huge heart with a great capacity to love and understand Lor. Although I loved all the characters, I ADORED Cade. The minute he spoke his first word I was all about Cade. He's cocky, funny, sexy, & sweet. I couldn't get enough of him. Lisa did a great job making these characters believable. I felt an immediate connection with them. I experienced every emotion while reading the story. I cried like a baby at parts.I wanted to grab a character or two & shake them at times. I laughed & felt tingly all over at times, Cade was usually involved with this. I can't wait to read more by Lisa. She definitely has a fan for life in me.

Everything kinda brought us together. Destiny...maybe?

Loralei Harper and Declan Sharp were meant to be together from birth. He is the boy next door, her best friend, and her first true love. Her life was all mapped out...but sometimes things change.

Loralei is a strong willed, smart, responsible woman who runs her family's ranch, her household, and her life. She is feisty, funny, and just living life day by day.

Enter a tattooed, pierced, muscle bound, lost, sweet man named Jaxon who is running from his past and not sure where he is heading. He is completely out of his element on the ranch, but helping his Uncle provided a welcome get away from his life. He was certainly not expecting to meet someone like Loralei and is not sure what to do about it. He knows he should stay away, but can he?

When he heard me riding up, he turned toward me. My lady parts did a little dance...This man was gorgeous, really beautiful.

I knew I was rude. I came off as a total ass. But that was the way it had to be. A hot ass country woman was the last thing I needed right now.

He was making me feel something. Something that I hadn't even thought about in years. I didn't know what I was going to do, but I knew that I needed to stay away...

And if one bad boy is not enough, we meet Cade Walker. A tall, cocky, funny, good looking cowboy with a surprising soft side. He was looking for sex and was certainly not looking for love, but Loralei is hard to resist.

This woman was gonna be trouble. I could already feel it in my...heart. Seriously? What the f*ck was happenin' to me? I don't have feelings for women, I f*ck women. That's it. No sappy love stories here. What the hell was makin' me want to know more about her?

Now I really cannot go into much detail without spilling the beans of the story. And I do not want to spoil anything for anyone because half of the fun was turning the pages frantically trying to see what was going to happen next. Just know that there is competition, passion, love, sex, miscommunication, jealousy, anger, fear, anxiety, heart break, secrets, lies, omissions, guilt, fighting, running, hiding, taunting, begging, hoping and multiple life changing events. Whew!

I stayed up til midnight trying to finish it. I alternately wanted to shake, slap, and throw my kindle at the characters, but I opted to complain to the author herself who was accessible on my Facebook PMs as I was reading (I had only PMed with her briefly during planning for her cover reveal, but she happened to message back to see how I was liking the book and I just had to get some things off my chest!) And she was so sweet, yet she was having fun torturing me deep into the night when I should have been peacefully sleeping. But I had to keep reading to find out what was going to happen since there were so many unresolved issues!

I had my favorite man. I never strayed from my favorite. But I cannot say who it is because I do not want to sway opinions. I know some people are going to prefer "Bachelor Number two". And I can say that despite all the trials and tribulations, I was thankfully smiling at the end of it. Lisa is probably glad too since I was kind of threatening her in PM if she broke my heart. lol

It was an entertaining and sweet story of finding love when you least expect it, knowing when to hold on and when to let go. About finding out where your heart belongs and not being afraid to face the future.

"For you baby, my answer is always yes."

He kissed me, a long, sweet, loving kiss that told me that everything was going to be okay. We were meant to be. And that is how my destiny was changed forever.

And I did like "Mr. Runner-Up" too and I will love him in his own story. I just did not want him getting in the way of MY couple. And a little birdie told me that there will be a book two and he will have his chance at happiness.

The story is told in alternating POV of the main characters. I think that is so important since we get to see into all of their heads. I really liked all of the characters in this book from the main ones to the supporting ones. They were funny, supportive, loving, and loyal.

I think that this was a great debut for Lisa M. Harley and I look forward to the next in the series and more from her in the future.

Do we really know what our Destiny is? For some I think we imagine what it will be like or we try to plan out what will happen in our lives but I truly don't think that things will always work out the way we want them to.

Loralei Harper is destined, or believes her destiny is to marry Declan, the young man she grew up with, the one she shares her first kiss with, her best friend and ultimately her boyfriend. They celebrate their birthdays together and they are only a year apart in age. Loralei and Declan live in a very small town and I mean very small. It is country all the way, with a very small population, beautiful farms and open fields.

Is Loralei's destiny to marry Declan, have children with him and live happily ever after? Well like we have all heard before, things change and they do, quite often, in this story but I don't want to give any spoilers away. I want you to read it for yourself :0) I enjoyed their story. I laughed and I could relate in many ways because I live in a very rural area.

I will tell you that you will meet two very, sexy characters, Jaxon (my personal fav) a pierced, motorcycle riding, tattooed bad boy and Cade your all American full-fledged cowboy which makes for an interesting love triangle here and at times you are unsure of where things will go and who will go or which direction they will go lol. I enjoyed all the characters and the rolls they played fit into the story very nicely. In my opinion, though, Cade was somewhat pushy. Both of them fall in love with Loralei and there is drama as well as poor communication which at times will create frustration.

There were some things that worked for me and there were some things that didn't work for me but that is just a simple statement that really applies to everyone. There was some repetition but I understood it was part of the way Ms. Harley wrote the story and it did not deter me from reading on to see what would happen next. The story for me improved about the halfway mark and Ms. Harley worked everything out very well. For a first novel, she did a wonderful job telling the story in the many different POV'S that she did. Ms. Harley has potential and I look forward to her next novel. I was provided an ARC copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Let me start off by saying that when I read the overview of the book I knew that there would be 3 guys and a girl but wow I didn’t know it would be like this.

I have put this book with my favorites!! I loved it. It has a little bit of everything, I cried, laughed, yelled and just over all enjoyed the book.

I don’t want to tell the book and spoil it for others but there is a big hit at the beginning of the book that was very unexpected.

I freaking love, Declan Sharp, he was a sweet country boy, grew up with Loralei. Their parents couldn’t have planned their relationship any better. Loralei was the love of his life the two were insuperable pretty much from birth. Their future was bright, but sometimes life gets in the way of your plans.

10 yrs later Jaxon Daniels pops into Lor’s life. He is everything she would never go after in a guy he is, a pierced, tattooed, badass with a gentle soul, he just wanted to get out of the city and relax in the country for a little while. He was not looking for a woman he wanted to striating up his life. He had some baggage to get rid of before he could move forward with anyone.

Then there is Cade Walker, lol Cade Cade, Cade, man I loved this due from the first mention of him he is a cocky cowboy, sexy as all outside and knows what Lor is going through since they have the same family back ground. Ranching and all. After a drunken night, a lot changes for Lor and Cade. Cade was not looking for a relationship but after that one night with Lor he was hooked and was messed up for all other women he feels something for Loralei...with his heart.

That’s enough I won’t tell you anymore it’s a awesome book u must read it…. I will say that I love the ending as well. You will also get a lot of nice supriseses in the story and not to mention all of the hot sex.
I can’t wait to read Cade’s story

Lisa Harley definitely has what it takes to be a great writer!

Destined to Change is Lisa's debut novel and she doesn't let us down.

This is beautiful story about a young woman who gets dealt an ugly hand but she survives and has to move on.

Lorelei is a beautiful young woman who had her destiny planned out for her until tragedy strikes. She doesn't live in the past but hasn't really moved forward with certain parts of her life.

We meet Jaxon when he comes to stay with his uncle Jake who works for Lorelei. The attraction is immediate between them both but both are afraid their pasts will screw up anything between them.

Cade comes along when things get tough between Lor and Jaxon. He's the escape that Lot needs and wants. But Cade gets more than he bargained for.

These three go through a lot. The situations they are thrown into, I wouldn't want to wish on anyone.

Lisa does such a great job in her writing, that you feel the strong emotions in these characters. You can feel the love, longing, hurt, pain, heartache, and passion.

I love that when I read a book, I feel like I'm walking in their shoes. I felt that the entire way in this book.

Beautifully written. You will be pulled into this book immediately and not want to put it down.

I can't wait for the next book in this series!

3 Wavering Stars I'm in the minority on this one again. Not sure what everyone else read but this book did not come close to the 5 Golden Star rating others have given it for me. There was this sweet love with Declan and then there wasn't. Then Jaxon emerges and there is a sweet, hot beginning. And then there wasn't.

Way too much drama. Wayyyy too much. All I can say is that I have no interest whatsoever in reading about Cade because I found nothing about him that remotely had me wanting more. Any male character who feels the need to name his manhood "cowboy" and talk to it doesn't do it for me. Just sayin...

I just don't want to say more because so many seemed to really like it. It just did not work for me and I skimmed a good portion just trying to find something to "latch" onto.

The End. :(:(

When, looking at the cover you see a question proposed, “What would you do if your entire destiny changed in an instant?”

This irresistible story gripped me from the first chapter till the last. When Declan asked, “Loralei, do you like me?” their destiny was set on a course where their future seemed predestined to be written and etched in our hearts and minds. With the course of events that followed, their destiny was fated to be forever changed. I was physically pained at the thought of what she was experiencing in those moments. The courage and strength that it took for her to continue to get up each day, take her next breath and try to just live her life was inspiring. But destiny had other plans for Loralei when Jaxon Daniels entered her life.

Let me just say, HUBBA HUBBA! The first time she saw Jaxon she described him as,”built, I mean huge.” “…you could bounce a quarter off that ass.” This got my full attention! With his “fancy pants” and Metallica t-shirt and eyebrow piercing, he looked very out of place in a Missouri field. HOLY HOTNESS BADMAN!!! (Fanning myself). With the instant attraction, a budding relationship followed close behind. Jaxon had a troubled past and was looking to change his destiny, so he left California to help his Uncle Jake, a farm hand on Loralei’s farm. “A hot ass country woman was the last thing (he) needed right now.” Little did he know that was exactly what he needed.

Their relationship starts to blossom and the feeling of “this is too good to be true” injects self-doubt. Words that should be said are not spoken, and when faced with the reality of Jaxon’s past, Loralei is left feeling betrayed and then abandons her chance at destiny. Enter Cade Walker. A 6’7”, blonde hair, green eyed, “cowboy from his hat to this boots and the wranglers…” muscular body …His calloused hands… definitely not afraid to “get his hands dirty” in every sense of the word. Giddy up!

Loralei has to decide whether loving Mr. Wrong is right or if Mr. Right is wrong. I found myself rooting for both Jaxon and Cade. I was torn! I could felt the chemistry between Jaxon and Loralei- it was palpable. With Cade, I could see how country life would be easier, familiar. I was there sitting on the sidelines with my pom poms and megaphone cheering for the happily ever after! Give me a H. Give me an E. Give me an A. What‘s that spell HEA! RAH! RAH! Sis- boom- bah!

I rate this book with 5 stars. I loved it! I am a lover of books that are based on finding love and a happily ever after (HEA) ending. From beginning to end, I found myself completely invested in the outcome of these characters’ love lives. The beginning was an emotional page turner. The middle gripped me around my heart and I was pulled to root for both love interests. By the end, I had ridden the emotional thrilling rollercoaster. If you are looking for a book to cleanse the palate after an erotic ride, this is the book for you. It is a sweet after dinner mint with a little bite to it.

Wow!!!

I love the beginning of this book. I think that it sucks you in and makes you want to know more about Declan and Loralie and the friendship they share and ultimately their love. It's seemingly perfect because of the relationship between their parents and even though it's an expectation, the author never gives it an order of how it will be. I was so glad to get through the first couple of chapters and feel a true connection between both Dec and Lor and not on obligation.

Finally when they come together
it's everything that I expected it to be between a young couple in love, a beautiful moment of true emotions.

And then,

But, Lor is so strong and she's got something, 2 somethings, worth fighting for.

Ten years later and we meet Jaxon, the pierced bad boy nephew of Jake, a farmhand of Lors.

This leads to sightseeing that Lor is not prepared for and eventually an outing pushed for by Lor's own mother. And then, the undeniable attraction between the two.

After weeks of getting to know eachother and falling, something, or rather someone, from the past shows up and has the potential to ruin everything. Lor takes off to a cattle sale and makes another decision that leads to more devestation.

Meet Cade

Lor's mistake. Or, is he? And can Jaxon and Lor work past these battles?

Weeks later at Loralie's farm, the decision will be made. But, will Cade or Jaxon have a chance to change Lor's destiny?

I truly felt the emotions in this book. Every heart touching moment, tears and even the choices that had to be made based on two very important people, I felt them all.
I cannot wait for the next book in this series.

My casting for Loralie:

So I heard about this book through a book group I'm part of on Facebook, that Ms. Lisa Harley is also a part of and I decided to read it because I feel it's important to support new authors especially ones you interact with on social media almost on a daily basis.

I'll start off by saying when I read the description to this book I was a little scared to start reading it, 3 guys and 1 girl. I knew this wasn't going to be a light easy read, there was going to be drama, heartbreak, and of course hot men! So the question was, was I ready to read a book that was probably going to make my heart hurt, make me want to hit someone, and most important was I ready to deal with drama? Well after reading a hot steamy short book I decided I needed to read this book so I went in and got hooked.

The prologue was perfect, and you fall in love with Declan, but I didn't want to get too attached because like i said I knew there was 2 other guys mentioned. Well Declan was perfect, and Loralei and him were very much in love. Yeah and then it happens. The twist start happening. =/ The prologue did it, I just had to continue reading. Big mistake was to start this book at lunch time, I had to sneak reading for the rest of the day.

The story only got better and even though the circumstances sucked it was needed to play out such an amazing story line. We meet Jaxon (I fell in love as soon as they mention him) tattoos, bad boy, hot, what more do you want? Loralei and Jaxon their chemistry is amazing, but there are secrets and more twist come about.

Then we meet Cade, yeah he's a hot cowboy, cowboys aren't my thing, but gave him a chance. Yeah more twist!

At the end, who gets the happy ending? Well you are just going to have to read this book and find out! My emotions were everywhere and I was yelling out loud, WOw? What? Seriously? No way? . Ahh Lisa you did great with this story and I can't wait for the rest of the series! :) xxo

Loralei Harper believes her life is all planned out, until a tragic accident changes her destiny forever. I was surprised at the event that occurred in the beginning of the story, especially since one of the characters in the book blurb is killed off. But, that also grabbed my attention. I think Lisa did a great job capturing the emotional state a woman like Loralei would be in. She dedicated her life to her kids and never gave her heart a chance to heal. But when Jaxon arrives, that changes everything. I liked Jaxon and I liked picturing someone like him working as a farm hand. Although, it drove me crazy how so much of the drama could have been avoided if he and Loralei would have just finished a sentence or completed a thought. But then again, that’s what kept me reading! I’m still not sure about Cade. He was depicted very well as a playboy cowboy with little concern for any type of romantic connection, but then he falls hard for Loralei. Not that she’s not worthy, I just think I would have liked to see a little more growth in that relationship. The crazy passion was there, but the emotional connection didn’t seem to be. The next book will follow his story and I’m curious to see how his time with Loralei changes him for the better.

The Good: Tons of romantic drama that will draw you in.

The Issue: Too many POV changes. There were several instances where I read the same exact scene twice but from different narrators. I’m okay with changing it up, but the whole scene doesn’t need to be recapped. This wasn’t so prevalent in the second half of the book.

In summary: 4 stars. A dramatic romance that will have you laughing, yelling, and crying all at the same time.

I absolutely adored this book!!! Jaxon Jaxon Jaxon Jaxon oh my lord!! Sexy. Tattooed. Pierced. Bad ass. Sweetie pie. Romantic. Crazy. You name it he is it!!
The dynamic between these two is PERFECT! I can honestly say I loved every up and down, every twist and turn! I was so in love with Jaxon that Cade never even had a chance( even if he was to turn out to be the nicest guy in the world it still wouldn't matter!!( and btw seriously who talks to there penis?? WTH))
Loralei Harper I love you! What a strong amazing female you are!
I plead and beg everyone to READ THIS BOOK!! You won't be disappointed!!

Some of my favourite quotes;

"I didn't know what to do, so I did what any good country girl would do ... I stomped on his foot and ran all the way back to my house."

"Rough or gentle? Tell me how you want me to love you."

"Babe, don't you know by now. My answer to you is yes, it's always yes."

"Slow down honey, there's plenty of time for that. Tonight just let well-cuddle? Women love that right?"

" then its settled, I'm going to sleep with you tonight, and I'm going to cuddle this shit out of you "

She whispered " inside now" I started to unzip my jeans, she shuddered. She looked horrified. " oh my god, no, inside the house, now. You damn pervert"

“You can’t live another minute for me. This life is yours and you have to start living it. I want you to be happy. Do you hear me, Lor? You deserve to be happy.”

MY FAVOURITE OF ALL:
" mommy why is Jaxon in bed with you? Oh my god, did you see his penis mommy? Grandma mommy saw Jaxons penis!" I loled, snorted!!

Ok, good things first... I loved the story of Lorelei and Declan's love. It was truly beautiful. I think though, in the real world, she would have a tough time not having or showing the slightest bit of guilt even though it was an accident. Secondly, Jaxon; he was the perfect guy. Lorelei's kids-- I giggled at Sammy's outbursts.

"Mommy, why is Jaxon in bed with you? Oh my God, did you see his penis mommy? Grandma, mommy saw Jaxon's penis!"

Now to what I didn't enjoy; I felt the dialogue was simply cheesy. I also had a tough time with Lorelei, at times she seemed to be a TSTL character. She could manage 20,000 acres but then place blame on Jaxon regarding protection after their first time, not to mention the games she played with Cade and Jaxon.

He knew why he was coming over. He knew I hadn't been with anyone in ten years. He had to know I wasn't on birth control... I finally blurted it out, "Um, why didn't you use protection last night?" WTF--hello!! Was she not an active participant?? Why should Jaxon bear the brunt? She had more sense when she was drunk to insist on a condom with Cade.

This book was clearly NA, even though Lorelei was in her late 20's and it's not that I don't enjoy that genre, but I feel at some point women need to accept their own responsibilities and quit contributing to drama.

This is Lorelai's story. Lorelai has had her 'destiny' planned for her from birth. She was to marry the boy next door, who happened to be her best friend from birth, Declan Sharp and join the two family farms together and become a stay at home mother to their children. She was content with her destiny, because she loved Declan, when one night that changed.

She learns to deal with life without Declan. Ten years later, she still isn't over him. Enter Jaxon. He's a city boy/farmhand on her cattle ranch and she falls hard and quick for him and for the first time since Declan, she feels loved, but he has his own problems.

When Jaxon's problems come to the forefront of their relationship, Lorelai runs and she runs straight into Cade's arms.

Cade is a player/cowboy that owns a ranch a few hours away. They meet at a cattle sale while Lorelai and Jaxon are at odds with each other and they have a couple of reckless nights together that are unforgetable.

When Jaxon comes begging for Lorelai's forgiveness, does she forgive him? Can he forgive her for being with Cade? Can Lorelai get over Cade and forget their wild nights? Can Cade leave Lorelai alone?

This story is told from multiple points of view. You hear from Lorelai, Jaxon, and Cade in this story. I loved it and couldn't put it down. Can't wait to read the next one!

Destined To Change was a nice change of pace from the paranormal books I've been reading over the past couple of weeks. Set in the countryside, the story focuses on Loralei, a twenty-something who is struggling to find her place and purpose in the world after the destiny and life she'd always known is ripped out from under her.

The beginning of this story ripped my heart out. It had the same angsty feel as Jasinda Wilder's Falling Into You, and my heart immediately went out to Lor. Her entire world changed in the blink of an eye, and it takes her years to get over the devastation.

Enter Jaxon. He's a tatted up piece of man candy who is just the right flavor of bad, but oh-so-good for Lor. Handsome, muscular, charming, and hefting a load of baggage almost as big as Lor's, the two trip around for quite some time before they finally come together with trust and ultimately, love.

Great story with plenty of hot moments, sexual tension, and angst. Great debut book!

This author is going places :o) This book was amazing and she definitely had me loving this story from the first couple pages! I felt tons of emotions while reading this book and in the end, it was all worth it! I loved Jaxon and Lorelei and they were the perfect match in this book! I do have to admit, as much as Cade came off as kind of the bad guy, I did like him b/c he had a good heart and after everything, he had good intentions! I cannot wait to read his story and Lisa is definitely going on my list of authors to watch for :o)
