Keanu Charles Reeves is a Canadian actor. Born in Beirut and raised in Toronto, Reeves began acting in theatre productions and in television films before making his feature film debut in Youngblood (1986). He had his breakthrough role in the science fiction comedy Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989), and he reprised his role in its sequels. He gained praise for playing a hustler in the independent drama My Own Private Idaho (1991) and established himself as an action hero with leading roles in Point Break (1991) and Speed (1994).
Following several box office failures, Reeves's performance in the horror film The Devil's Advocate (1997) was well received. Greater stardom came for playing Neo in the science fiction series The Matrix, beginning in 1999. He played John Constantine in Constantine (2005) and starred in the romantic drama The Lake House (2006), the science fiction thriller The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008), and the crime thriller Street Kings (2008). Following another commercially down period, Reeves made a successful comeback by playing the titular assassin in the John Wick film series, beginning in 2014.
In addition to acting, Reeves has directed the film Man of Tai Chi (2013). He has played bass guitar for the band Dogstar and pursued other endeavours such as writing and philanthropy.
(B-) 70% | Satisfactory Notes: All PowerPoint-y, it's didactic and reflective, barely plot, just themes and thoughts, but at least now there's objective.
- The exposition issue! Lots of talking. Is this character new? Can't remember. He is obviously going to turn out to be evil - why wouldn't you give all this exposition to the science lady.
- Pacing is weird in this series. Extraordinary thing is the pacing (up til now) feels off for a trade, and at the same time also feels off for monthlies.
- If we find your place of birth, we can give you your mortality <-- This is presented as if it's obvious and logical, but I don't see it.
- sex-majick
- This series is still missing propulsion, some clear, direct drive forward. It's all "let's try this", "when we find this", "if we find that", all long term goals, nothing in the now. I can see that being a point for an immortal being, but it's not really explored in that sense.
3.5 stars. So we finally move away from the kill kill kill and plot barely moving and get back to some more intrigue. They have come up with an idea where they think they can track down where Brzrkr was born/created at.
Took me by surprise in this one. The storyline got us readers into thinking how much Brzrkr has influenced history. Passing technology and customs thru history. He IS history! But of course there has to be someone or some organization that wants to manipulate Brzrkr for their nefarious plans.
Will #8 finish off the second 4 part arc? Looking forward to more of this series.
3,5/5. Good one, but again we see every same pattern of every issues. Action and a tiny bit of plot unfolding just enough to keep the reader in. Like always I close this issue being curious about what will come next and, in some ways, I enjoy it, but I can’t say that it’s a great series so far.
This issue follows on from the events of #6 as we focus on an artefact retrieved during the museum raid, bookended by what looks like some sort of experiment... Presumably we'll find out how the experiment goes in #8.
This issue is finally really getting somewhere overall. However like with all issues, right as it's getting good it ends. The majority of the series has felt shallow yet the art is good & the parts set in his past are fun and that's what's keeping me going. Also, these are short and I can read them quickly.
I like this subplot of the artifact, but it's a lot of exposition for little gain. In the context of the previous story thus far, it doesn't add anything -- honestly everything up till this point could have been in half (or less) of the issues. In of itself, there isn't enough meat to justify the adding on of even more harebrained schemes (or protocols. Seriously. What even is this.).
Issue seven is mostly an exposition issue, preparing for the next part of the story.
It’s an interesting idea that shows the Berserker’s impact throughout history. The mysterious process the government will put him through sounds purposefully painful so he can relate his history and perhaps how he became the way he is.
This issue delivers the creepiest and most intriguing parts of the story yet. I think it's the best issue yet because of it, but I don't want to spoil anything. ;)
