Barton Smock is a prolific poet. Spare but never sparse, his poems are like beautiful and complicated strings of code - they allude to real life events, you are always sure of it, but they are hidden so well he never names names...even when he is naming names. This book is full of deft metaphor that is worth reading for the music of the words alone.
