A war will be waged. Can love conquer all, or will darkness prevail?
Morgan Vela is an author of romantic fantasy novels. Her stories join with shifters, witches, and dragons and explore other realms—while magic fills the pages of her stories, romance guides her imagination.
I have made up stories in my head for as long as I can remember—I have seen dragons and magic-filled worlds since I was young. I have traveled long and far and lived many lives through the pages of books I’ve read. This freedom of believing in the impossible, even briefly, made me want to share my stories. And so, my journey began as a writer.
If you thought the first chapter of Belynda and Drake’s story was intense, prepare for your heart to be absolutely put through the wringer. Morgan Vela returns with Vanished: Throne of Fire, a fantasy romance that raises the stakes to a literal life-or-death fever pitch. Belynda is no longer the "mundane human" she once was; she is a reincarnated soul bound by destiny to the Prince of the Fire Realm. But a year after a devastating conflict with the covenant of guardians, her dragon-shifter, Drake, remains diminished. The only solution? The Ora Tablets. They hold the power to restore Drake’s transformation abilities, but they come with a chilling price: a human sacrifice.i can’t wait to read book 3 of this fantastic series Belynda’s evolution is breathtaking. She is willing to traverse different Realms and face certain peril to "appease the fire" for the man she loves. ~Thank you, Beth, and the rest of the Wings and Words Arc Community for the free Arc of this book. I'm leaving this review voluntarily.~
I was lucky enough to be an arc reader through wings and words for book 2 of the vanished series. I loved the progression of the story and love between Drake and Belynda, what a cliffhanger.... again. can't wait for book 3
Vanished: Throne of Fire by Morgan Vela is the second book in the Vanished fantasy romance series. Throne of Fire continues the story of Belynda and the dragon-shifter prince Drake, as the of back to his realm. We begin to see and learn more about the other realms as well. The romance, the world-building, the introduction of new characters are all delicious and no longer YA.

Morgan, Morgan, Morgan, you got me in the feels multiple times. You successfully got me attached to the characters, old and new, and I eagerly look forward to continuing the series. Well done.
I was blown away!! The writing, as good as it was on book 1, it's like so freaking phenomenal on book 2. But Why? Why? Morgan I don’t want to pick between Drake and Callix 🫣😬 The plots twist to this story had me wanting more & don’t get me started on the graphics because baby baby Morgan you nailed ❤️🔥 You’re definitely the author when it comes writing for worldbuilding. I felt like I was actually living in this story just like in your book 1..Extremely excited already for book 3 heck 5/6/7 and so on 😬
Morgan, Morgan, Morgan. What are you doing to me ma’am??
I have been a deeply devoted fan of Ms Morgan and this Vanished series since I begged for an ARC of Book 1. And u can ask her, I literally harassed her to no end for book 2. Let me just say she did not disappoint! Book 2 is beyond awesome. My one thing from book 1 that I had mentioned to her was the proofreading. I had found too many typos and I am happy to report that book 2 was 1000 times better. That had been literally the only thing I mentioned and it was fixed. So bravo on that.
Now, before I get into this story, let’s just talk about these graphics. Holy Moly my dear. They were so fantastic! They were incredible!!! PERFECTION!!! Some graphics I see are sexy and hot but slightly cartoonish? These are absolutely stunning!!!! And not only do you find them on the cover and in the beginning but you find them ALL THROUGHOUT THE BOOK!! I was blown away. I want every single picture. And have you seen her social media?? The reels, the trailers per say, are otherworldly. Every fantasy writer should take note of all of this because my dear Morgan knocked it so far out of the park!!!
NOW, the story. 10 STARS!!!! I am a diehard Drake fan. Their love was so sweet and delicious on the first book AND THEN this sneaky woman made me feel some type of way about Callix! How dare you!! The writing, as good as it was on book 1, it’s like so freaking phenomenal on book 2. People, watch out for this woman. Do NOT sleep on her. This is only book2!!! She is writing like she knows what she’s doing here. How do you think book 5 and 10 are gonna be?? She’s going to be unstoppable.
Ms Vela, bravo my dear. Just standing ovation BRAVO on your second book. I am so very proud of your accomplishments on this one. And I’m not too humble to say I CALLED THIS ONE FOLKS! Go get hooked on the Vanished series and get hooked on Morgan Vela like I did!!
Diving into a fantasy realm where elemental magic intertwines with the ancient mystique of dragon‑shifting is an experience guaranteed to ignite the imagination of any devoted fantasy reader. Morgan Vela crafts a world that feels layered and alive, blending natural forces with mythical power in a way that’s both immersive and emotionally resonant. Her balance of excitement, romance, and rich world‑building creates a narrative that never loses momentum. One of the most compelling aspects of the story is the duality of its characters. The fusion of human emotion with the raw, ancient wisdom of dragons opens the door to powerful themes — identity, control, transformation. The MMC’s struggle between his human self and the dragon within is gripping, leaving you wondering whether he’ll hold on to who he is or be consumed by what he’s becoming. Pacing is often a challenge in fantasy, especially when the world is as intricate as this one, yet Vela handles it with remarkable ease. It feels as though she knows every hidden corner of this realm, guiding the reader through vivid descriptions without ever slowing the story’s forward drive. She feeds you tension and information in perfect measure, keeping you firmly in her grasp. The emotional stakes are just as high. Will the two main characters find their way back to each other, or repeat the heartbreak of their past? Will the reemergence of an old enemy tear them apart for good? Even as danger mounts, Vela never lets hope slip away. It’s a central thread woven through every chapter — the belief that fate has a plan, even if that plan can be challenged, changed, or rewritten. By the final page, I was desperate for the next instalment and eager to step into yet another realm she has waiting. This book is a captivating escape, the kind of world many of us wish we could live in — and Morgan Vela makes it feel almost possible.
5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ & 2 🌶️🌶️. Ooo I’m so glad my need to see Drake snap was satiated in this. This book got spicier than the first, but I loved that we had their build up and relationship develop more. It made me feel a better connection with the main characters.
I loved learning more about the magic and about all the realms and I sensed it was because we may come across them all at some stage during this series. Which I am not mad about!
I do feel sorry for Belynda, and Drake’s seemingly doomed story. These two can never seem to be happy and at peace for too long.
I am SO intrigued by Callix. Is it wrong that I sort of love him? Please let him be a good guy and get a happy ending too.
Not gonna lie, there were also moments in this that I sort of hated Drakes douchey behaviour, even if he did do it for the right reasons.
Very excited to see how this pans out. I also suspect that we may get other side character budding romances in the sequels which I am here for!
This book was kindly sent to me in advance from the author and the wings and words community for the opportunity to review which I am leaving honestly and voluntarily.
We pick up one year after book one left us emotionally wrecked, and the fallout is devastating.
Belynda is a shadow of the woman she became with Drake, while Drake himself is lost—having sacrificed his human essence to save her.
But Belynda refuses to accept that this is the end of their story. Consumed with the need to restore Drake’s essence and bring them back together, she sets out on a path every fantasy reader knows comes at a cost. And the real question isn’t if there’s a price to pay—but whether it will be too high.
This book is everything that cemented my love for fantasy: dragon-shifters, hidden realms, elemental magic, betrayal, loss, sacrifice, deep emotional stakes, and rich world-building. I was completely obsessed.
I did find the opening a little slower than book one, though I suspect that had more to do with the gap between reads than the story itself. That said, the time it takes our MCs to move into the next phase of their journey does stretch slightly—although, given the amount of… private reconnecting they had to do, who could blame them? 👀
Once the story finds its footing, it’s full steam ahead. And speaking of steam—chapter nine. That’s all I’m saying. "My Lord". (IYKYK 😏)
This was a top-tier 4.5⭐ read, with half a star docked only for the slower start. My one piece of advice—aside from demanding that you read this series—is to have the next book ready. Because the way Morgan Vela writes an ending will leave you emotionally undone, whispering to yourself in a dark corner. You’ve been warned.
Vanished: Throne of Fire is book two in a completed four-book series, and once it gets going, you’ll be turning pages so fast you’ll create a hurricane two towns over.
Thank you to Morgan Vela and the team at Wings and Words for the opportunity to read this book.
I loved this book which I received as ARC from Wings & Words (thank you Beth and Morgan). The story continues from book one and is as good as first, I would defiantly recommended and am going to get book three as I have to know what happens. Callix or Drake????
Wow what a book! Loved it! It hooked me from the beginning. I needed to know what was happening. So many different POVs you knew why everyone was thinking. The story isn’t over yet and I need to know what happens!
Another hit by Morgan with book 2 of Vanished and thanks for the team at Wings & Words for organising. Our favourite characters from book one continue to develop in this instalment and we get the chance to explore other realms. The romance and tension are as addictive as ever and it was incredibly easy to get sucked into the story. Another great fantasy with a cliff hanger, I’m ready for book 3!
Morggaaannn, what you doing to us!? I was intrigued to see how the characters stories would progress through the world and it didn't disappoint. It had me so up and down with how I felt about every single character, and once I hit 42% I couldn't put it down. it's a great builder to coax you into the next book. I feel like Callix is beckoning me through the portal to book three like "come see for yourself" 😏😏 . If you love shifters, a touch her and die possessive MMC who has to navigate a bitey stubborn FMC then this one is deffo for you!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and its unique plot. Just when I thought I knew where the story was headed, it managed to surprise me in ways I didn’t expect. As much as I loved Drake, I knew Callix was going to have a hold on me too, and he absolutely delivered. The tension between characters, the pacing, and the unexpected turns kept me hooked from start to finish.
5⭐️ Ahhh Callix and the forbidden drawwww, I was eating it up. I got sooo mad at how Drake acted in the palace, I constantly adding notes of how mad I was. I get it, he wanted to protect her but nah the way he treated her once they got to the fire realm NOOO. I love Tolly though, she is a great character and I’m glad Belynda had something good.
Drake and Callix are just reminding me of Tamlin and Rhysand😭 where Drake treated her badly then there was a hidden draw of Callix constantly and the way he kept appearing to Belynda in the prison to keep her company. Drake just pissed me off so much. Even before they left the human world…the way everyone is like dropping like doormats to this “fate” of Drake and Belynda and even her mom being willing to give her life to get Drake back…it felt overkill. I get it because of the guardian ship and their beliefs, but hard to wrap my head around how fast it was moving with Drake and Belynda. It felt so fate driven vs building a connection. I think this is a why choose but I want her to just choose Callix, also because Drake got Isabel before.

This book was so entertaining - I read it twice as fast then the first one - full of excitement, twists and surprises - never a dull moment - This author did a great job a keeping the excitement going - I’m so intrigued by the realms and the different clans - I don’t want to give any spoilers but the introduction of a certain character has changed everything - nothing will be the same after this - I can’t wait to read book 3 🔥
I absolutely love Morgan's writing style. I love the characters and character development in this book. The plot thickens as our FMCS magic strengthens. AND I AM HERE FOR IT!
As a sequel, this book takes off right where the first left us, then shoots to even greater heights. Just when you thought the tension, suspense, betrayal, and love couldn’t possibly intensify, this story shatters all expectations and leaves you breathless.
In this second installment, we’re transported to an entirely new world filled with soaring dragons, ancient castles, and our beloved characters grappling with their enemies—and themselves.
Belynda, who wrestled with insecurities in the first book, dives even deeper into her internal struggles, especially when it comes to her feelings for Drake. Is their love truly mutual? These doubts are even more pronounce when Drake becomes distant towards her once he is back home. These doubts and emotions take center stage in a way that feels authentic and deeply engaging. Meanwhile, the introduction of new characters adds fresh dynamics, drawing readers to instantly love or despise them. And let’s not forget the thrilling prophecy that raises the stakes even higher.
With war looming, we follow Belynda and Drake as they fight to stop the impending chaos. It’s a journey packed with emotion, action, and surprises that will keep you hooked until the very last page.
"Vanished: Throne of Fire" is a masterpiece in the world of epic fantasy with a touch of romance, and it firmly establishes Morgan Vela as a supremely talented author.
This second installment in the series is even more captivating than the first, earning a well-deserved 6-stars in my book. Vela's descriptive prowess is unmatched; she crafts a world so vivid and immersive that it feels almost tangible. The pacing of the story is perfect, keeping you enthralled and eagerly anticipating the next turn of events.
The complexity and charm of characters like Callix and Drake add depth to an already rich narrative, making it impossible to choose a favorite. For any fan of epic fantasy and romance, this book is an absolute must-read.
Vela has outdone herself, surpassing the high bar set by the first book and leaving readers desperately awaiting the third installment. If you're seeking a story that combines a beautifully detailed world with heart-pounding romance, "Vanished: Throne of Fire" will not disappoint. I am so incredibly honored to be arc reading the third book coming soon. I literally could not put the second one down.
The story is definitely getting more interesting in this sequel. And I do really want to read what comes next. But all my pet peeves from the first book are still present in the second, with more added.
She still feels way to young to be having such spicy scenes. Especially in this book where some of the scenes are very adult (I’m talking light bdsm and anal).
The story switches between characters points of view, including some minor character towards the end that we have never met. It feels like they are outside the story and I don’t need to know anything about them yet. I think it would be better to share as flashbacks in the next story if these characters turn into more main characters.
There was also art at every chapter break. Which I’m one hand was cool and interesting. And I’m the other hand sometimes I felt like it had nothing to do with the story. Some where just landscapes.
Vanished: Throne of Fire by Morgan Vela is book two in the Vanished Series. When I read the first book I knew from the start I was going to be addicted to this world. I also knew I was a fan of the author's writing and talent for worldbuilding. This book blew the first one out of the water, this was so much more than I expected! I read the whole thing cover to cover in one sitting. I needed to know what was going to happen. The plot and pace of this was phenomenal! I could picture everything as I was reading. This was an amazing adventure full of character building, new magic and that everything comes with a price. I cannot say enough positive things about this book. Drake is still one of my favorites. This is an amazing fantasy series that you should definitely be reading.
This book had me hooked from the very first page! Picking up where Drake’s imprisonment in the lake left us, the story dives straight into high stakes and emotional turmoil. Belynda’s desperate choice to restore Drake’s human essence at the cost of his control over his dragon set the tone for a tale filled with sacrifice, love, and danger.
As Belynda ventures into Drake’s mysterious realm, the challenges intensify, and the arrival of a blue-eyed stranger adds layers of intrigue and uncertainty. Is this stranger a friend or foe? And with destiny seemingly set to repeat itself, Belynda’s path is fraught with new characters to love (and hate), dangerous obstacles, and enigmatic mysteries.
With vibrant world-building, compelling character development, and jaw-dropping plot twists, this book delivers everything a fantasy lover craves: dragons, royalty, elemental magic, epic battles, and a love story that pulls at the heartstrings. The action ramps up in this installment, making it impossible to put down.
Second book in the Vanished series. The story definitely picks up in book two. Heart stopping moments, tears, and real emotional connection with the characters! I really enjoyed how she showed us more of an insight into the individual characters to include their thoughts, feelings and even some of their past. The introduction to Druleska was perfectly executed! I enjoyed the switch to a more traditional fantasy scene. There were also a lot of interesting creatures introduced as well! Fantastic spicy scenes for the romantasy lovers, and the cliff hanger of all cliff hangers! Definitely a 5 star read for me!
I thought book 1 was absolutely amazing. Book 2 has literally shredded my heart. There is so many sacrifices they these characters have to make. It is a never ending battle and oh the battle is so good. I couldn’t decide if I wanted to scream or cry for this one. It leaves you wanting so much more. I will say book 2 gives you some extra gifts along the way. I love it. Was not expecting that at all. It was so cool.
Well I don’t even know where to start to be honest. I thought the first book was epic. I don’t even know what to call this book. What is better than epic? This book has me angry, laughing, crying, oohing, and awing. It has it all. The characters are so well written that there is a connect with each of them even if you love to hate them. I love Drake but I love Callix too. I’m beside myself. I can’t wait for the next book!
I enjoyed the world-building and new characters in this book! Book 2 picks up right where we left off—can't wait for book 3! Ms. Ma'am, with Drake and mysterious Callix...I can't decide which is my book boyfriend! 😂 Why choose? Both! 😉 Stay book toxic! 😂💅 #Books #Romance #Fantasy #Characters #Reading #BookBoyfriend
I love this series! This book has everything, dragons, witches, different Realms, fated Mates, fated destiny and I could go on. The cliffhanger though 😬🫣. So anxious to see the fate of Belynda and Drake and all the characters that were introduced.
Loved this book! It made me excited for the next book. I am not one to give spoilers so it’s hard to create a review for this book without giving them. The characters are amazing and the story line is great. Drake has become one of my favorite characters and I can’t wait for the next book (please don’t break my heart with him)!!!!
So this is one of those situations where the second book is better than the first. Hands down much more adventure and exploration in this book! We continue to follow our main characters Belynda and Drake with a few new additions to our group. This book does end on a cliffhanger so beware for that. Overall this is one of the better books I have read in awhile. Highly recommend and can’t wait for the next one!
This book had me on the edge of my seat it had intense moments. It had everything from dragons, witches and fated mates. I loved the world building I loved the series
