A different twist on a vampire story

This was a really good twist on the normal vampire story. I liked the two main characters both were real and both had hopes and dreams that got taken away. The weird twist is different so it makes this story better. I hope another book is written for this series.

Varick

Varick is a vampire with a mission, only he doesn't know how to accomplish it. Vampires can't be killed like humans believe they can but he must find a way. Then he meets her and everything changes for him. For the better!!

HOLY HELL!!!!! I am a Vampire Paranormal lover. I follow and auto buy 3 vampire series....the series of Varick is beyond descriptive words. Varick is told in 2 parts. Varick the Reluctant is a sad, dark, gritty tale about revenge, loss and loneliness. Varick is turned into a monster and forced to kill a very important person in his life by his ruthless and cold sire, Luther. You learn through flashbacks how Varick escapes Luther and how he survives until present, modern time. He lives by a different code then all other vampires. One day he meets a woman who is ready to kill herself so he makes her a deal to be her "Angel of Death" while allowing himself life with her blood. Well holy hawt sex and he changes him mind. Aliesha isn't very happy when she discovers Varick has turned her and she can NEVER DIE...yeah alot of vampire myths don't exist in this series which is cool. Book 1 ends with Luther finding Varick and making Aliesha pay for his "crimes".

Book 2 is Varick the Reckoning. WOW did this book change pace and change super fast. Aliesha returns and is not the happy go lucky girl Varick turned. She is a pure vampiress and is out for blood...Varick's blood to make him pay for what happened to her. Well huge twist later (sorry but I was like WHAT!!! I was immediately PMing Red about it) and vengeance was his!!!!! Well there is an amazing twist in the book and Varick gets a super "special" ability....wanna know...THEN READ THE DAMN BOOK!

I was so not ready for this intense action packed incredible story of Varick! I felt like a zombie unable to put my kindle down. I had to continue it until I finished it completely. You fall in love with Varick instantly. He's charming, sexy and a smooth talker. Did I mention sexy? This book has me reading quickly and turning the pages fast to find out what happens. When a human girl Aleshia comes into the picture everything changes.

The beast now has a purpose, a mission. A desire. Lust. Emotion. Sex. Protection. Loyalty... even in death. UGH! I LOVE this book! I love the vampire world that Red Phoenix has created here. There is no sparkling in the sun or using special rings to avoid it, not even burning in the sun! I LOVE the rules you created about the sun and the different kinds of blood... so creative and wonderful!

I couldn't put this book down until I finished it and now I'm reading it again! This is a book I'll be reading over and over again!

I have never read a book like this and thoroughly enjoyed it. What I like most about this book is that Red Phoenix creates a completely different and new kind of vampire world. One that is both dark and scary but also very hot and erotic. The book has a mixture of really erotic scenes, graphic parts, some sad moments and parts that will surprise and shock. What else I enjoyed about the story was reading about the details of how the vampires are and how they live. I didn't expect the story to go the way it did, there were many surprises and twists in the story which I love. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading supernatural and/or erotic stories.

Definitely fascinated with Ms. Pheonix's take on the vampire world! While I found myself cringing sometimes at the brutality amongst the vampires...I couldn't put the book down! Varick is such an interesting character and, when Aleshia comes into the picture it opens him to a whole different world of emotions and makes him just a little more human. Mix in some steamin' HOT love scenes and well, I really couldn't put it down then!!! :-)

Red Phoenix tells a different kind of vampire story. The story centres on Varick the vampire, who chooses a solitary life for many years, not wishing to be like the rest of his kind. Till one day he happens upon his next victim Aleshia. Their time together takes you through so many twists and turns, the sexual energy between them is hot. Red writes their story so well, that you feel like you are along for the ride. I fell in love with their characters and hope that their story will continue.

This is a great story about a vampire who portray's good and bad. Then he meet's Aleshia she's is his everything and does his best to keep her away from the world he has lived. This book has many twist and turns and ups and downs but you will not be disappointed. If you like vampire stories this is the one for you. The only problem I had with it was I wished it wouldn't have ended .

In Varick ~ The Reckoning, a young man is turned into a vampire. He shows compassion, honor and love, as he travels alone avoiding other cruel vampires. His adventures twist into an excellent story that is different from most vampire stories I have read, but most satisfying, so I highly recommend it to other readers.
