I am not a reader of romantic stories, but I was agreeably surprised to find myself enjoying White Ginger. It is well written: in good English and with neatly constructed plots. I found it easy to read, the sentences being short and straightforward, and the story gripping and interesting. The characters are powerfully portrayed, whether nice and innocent or nasty and detestable
I look forward to further books by this author.

I've been reading White Ginger over the last week. There's been a lot going on in my life and so I've enjoyed the opportunity to skip away for chapters at a time and lose myself in Hawaii with Amelie and Arne. White Ginger is a book that quickly sweeps a reader back up in the moment.
It is a particularly tactile reading experience with Ms Bellamy's wonderful descriptions of colour and scent in Hawaii, and of reefs and lagoons and beaches and gardens and volcanos and flowers... the heroine, Amelie, is a painter and fashion designer what's more, so it feels perfectly appropriate to get caught up in the rich landscape of Hawaii through her eyes. (Please don't get me wrong - there is just the right amount of description for such an exotic setting - certainly not too much!)
At times, this becomes almost a romantic suspense story, as Amelie and Arne both find their lives and property threatened by a sinister force linked to a Developer in their town who wants to build a marina near a world-class reef. (Sounds very familiar for us Aussies who are always looking out for our Great Barrier Reef on the East Coast, and the Gnaraloo Reef on the West Coast.)
I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a lovely sweet romance but the sensual scenes are really well drawn... leaving us wishing these two would get all their insecurities behind them and just leap into the nearest bed... or beach... or boat!

Set in Hawaii, this romance is definitely a great holiday read! There is not only a classic romance storyline, with well developed characters (I especially like the secondary characters - the little girl is gorgeous!) and the interesting social commentary related to the environment. The action is good, the dialogue realistic, and the sizzle is smoking hot!! A great début for this lyrical new writer.

Beautifully written, in a paradise setting, this love story is gentle, passionate and thrilling with danger. Amelie and Arne are two characters swept by their emotions and the dangerous circumstances that surround the gentle people of this island.
Patience, deep regard for each other, and the normal inhibitions surrounding a new romance describes their love affair. The chemistry is undeniable and almost tangible. Expectation is the word to describe their attraction awaiting fulfillment. How can they develop a normal relationship when every time they turn around evil surrounds them.
I loved the grandmother and her sage advice. Throughout this story, you can feel the undercurrent of that gentle and forever love she speaks of.
Definitely recommended!

White Ginger is set in the picturesque town of Kauai, Hawaii. Amelie Mackenzie, fabric fashion designer, retreats to the area to nurse her bruised ego after an unceremonious break up with her ex-fiancé. Soon after her arrival, Amelie meets Arne Keloki, a marine biologist, whose mission is to save the local coral from a unscrupulous land developer. Recognizing Amelia as his soul mate, Arne works to win her trust and her heart.
White Ginger was a very sweet story about two souls finding each other. Amelie and Arne were very likable and the passion simmering between them was palatable, although not overwhelming. The secondary characters, especially sweet Lani, made the story even more enjoyable. This is not an erotic romance but a sweet romantic tale that builds slowly. The passion simmering between the pair does not gain life until the very end of the story. Regardless, the story was lively and engaging with a cast of colorful characters and an interesting plot.
There were just a very grammatical challenges throughout the book but not enough to detract from the impact of the story. Overall, this was an enjoyable story and a quick read.
