A terrific book for kids 5-9 years that helps them better understand what it means to be an introvert, including helpful strategies and normalization of their differences and "superpowers." The clean minimalistic design makes it easy to read and a pleasure to look at. Highly recommended for the quiet kids among us and the adults who love them!
A Kids Book About Being an Introvert is a game-changer and an empowering conversation starter. The book beautifully explains the introvert experience—from struggles to superpowers—and validated his feelings perfectly.
What I loved most is that the book makes it clear there is nothing "wrong" with being introverted. It celebrates the strength found in silence and the valuable contributions quiet people have to offer. As a parent and an introvert myself, I appreciate how this book validates our needs without judgment.
It’s an essential tool for building self-esteem and helping kids see their true potential. Highly recommended for all families!
This was a nice overview of what an introvert is, and some of the things a child might hear if they are an introvert. I thought it was a good way to have conversations with an early elementary aged child. I really appreciate the list of other children's books about introverts. I look forward to reading those as well to have more conversations.
I thought the minimalist and abstract illustrations were very nice and distinctive from other picture books.
Thanks to Netgalley and DK Children for an early copy.
This book definitely would have been helpful for me as a child. Introvert wasn't a common description growing up, and I did hear many of the comments discussed in this book. Not the positive ones. I like how the book framed introvert qualities as positives, so kids don't feel like there is something "wrong" with them. A good book for adults to read to if they have introverted children.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for selecting me to read this advanced copy.
I recieved a copy of this book thanks yo NetGalley and DK Children. I am leaving a honest review voluntarily.
I think this was a great book for young kids. It goes into a brief overview of what being an introvert is and how it is a good thing to be, even if not everyone agrees. It's a good starting point, but doesn't go much into details on differences between types of introverts or other behaviors, so further research might be necessary.
Although I cannot get over the formatting of these series of books (I feel it is strange and the use of white space is misspent), I otherwise quite enjoyed and appreciated this book and how interactive the book can be at times.
Living with a couple of introverts (one adult, one child), I can understand how hard it can be for them to get their thought and feelings out, so I think this book is perfect for them. It puts down to paper a lot of what is going on in their "interior lives".
Would definitely recommend it.
Thank you to NetGalley, Amy Taylor, Josh Maynard, and DK | DK Children for this free, advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
I absolutely recommend this book. Informative, inspiring, and I really enjoyed the colors and layout of the pages. I really liked the page that showed how introvert and extrovert are on a continuous range. Wonderful book that everyone should read.
