Just in case a blurb at the front of the book from Ron Jeremy saying “If I directed some of these fantasies, I’d either be the world’s greatest adult-film director… or I’d be in jail.” isn’t enough to get you to check out this book of ten supernatural erotica stories let’s move on to a proper review.
It’s amusing that Frost starts this collection out with a virgin sacrifice/Catholic school girl combo, “The Threshold”. Frost doesn’t just pop main character Cameron’s cherry, she takes the reader out of their normal world and over her own threshold into another world. In this tale Cammie must chose between the weird, magical promises of a girl who might just want to do her harm and promises of a special, extraordinary life over the fate of becoming just as ordinary as her mother. Best of all is the unanswered question Frost leaves behind, making the reader wonder whether the real story was a girl’s voyage into womanhood or whether a greater story was lost to teenage passion.
“The Orifice” is a wild, startlingly sexy tale of fetishes. It’s more than that, because the characters are more than just their piercing/pain fetishes. Frost manages to take something considered “weird” and “freaky” and not just explain it to readers but to make it sound incredibly appealing, amplified by creating a world where the wildest sex dreams can come true.
“The Dominatrix Has a Career Crisis” is about a horribly self absorbed woman who suddenly learns that coasting by on artificially inflated self esteem and glorying at other peoples’ misfortunes will only take her so far. The transition from the previous story, an incredible erotic piece, to this one is a bit jarring. This is almost a social science fiction piece in the speculative commentary vein of Jennifer Pelland and Paolo Bacigulpa. Despite it’s obnoxious main character it’s amusing, and a complex tale with an erotic BDSM flavor.
Addressing sex addiction to the point of making it a squiggly, wet, separate creature “The Pleasure Invaders” follows a desperate cop, addicted to the erotic touch of seemingly unintelligent aliens and yet charged with stopping the important of this contraband. Frost nails the addict mentality, threading even the non-sexual parts with a heightened sense of eroticism that puts the readers directly into a mind obsessed.
With “Viagra Babies” Frost keeps to the science fiction flavor and continues from sex addict to what happens to those naturally resulting from sex addiction. After a pandemic of Viagra street use humanity gave birth to urban legend quality monsters. Children born from the hypersex unions are medicated and isolated lest their supernatural sexual powers drive the Normals mad. Viagra Babies also die shortly after turning eighteen, a hallmark that both the main characters are quickly approaching. A dark science fiction spin that pits sexual heroes against a twisted evil, it’s also the only story with a male main character.
From there Frost delves into the speculative realm of horror with “Imagine It” a disturbing, dark tale amplified by its fierce eroticism. Here Frost journeys into a mental mystery, the female rape fantasy. Traveling on a dagger’s edge between the powerlessness of the act itself and the perception that all the power is with the female if she or her gender can make a male so out of control that he seeks to take it back, Becca, a best selling sex writer, has been objectified by her readers, herself and even her therapist. She finds confronting and conquering her feeling most liberating, in terribly unsettling ways.
Following it up with a softer take on horror is “Playing Karen Devere”, a tale of a Hollywood lesbian couple who play more than screen parts after they have several close encounters (in the name of research) with a sexy, empowered female serial killer on death row.
“Test Drive” thrusts us back into the future, where the trend of the porn industry pushing technology to new heights (like it did with VHS and camcorders) continues. By this point humanity has completely lost its gender identity in its seeking of pleasure and perfection. Blake is a sex toy maker looking for something new and different in a very satisfied world. Her business partner’s latest sex video unleashes a monster that’s been long forgotten–The Male Libido. This tale is touched with humor and an amusing dose of irony.
“Visions of Ecstasy” takes us back to horror with a paranormal tale of a psychic who tries to save a woman destined to die in her search of a sexual thrill. But neither the man she thinks is a killer, nor the woman she thinks is the victim are quite what they seem. This another hot little fetish tale that’s perfect for the asphyxiation crowd.
Finally is “Deep Inside” a legend-inspired tale of a “voodoo penis” and the drive of males and females to find the perfect substitute for each other. This one is a more ordinary tale, the characters and history glanced upon in favor of a plot with a dark end.
These tales are surprisingly good, but more than that, they’re humorous and insightful as well, not just about what people do, but exploring through sex why they do it. Titillating and erotic, sure, but Frost also makes sex one more aspect of the human mind, not merely about the body and instincts.

Take a good look at the cover and you'll just know what you’re in for when you curl up on your bed to read this one...and you’d be wrong.
This is not your standard erotic fare. Polly doesn’t find new and unusual ways to describe the hardness of a man’s equipment, or the soft velvety folds of a woman. She doesn’t give the good bits a thousand different silly names, and she doesn’t overdo the sex.
Don’t get me wrong, there’s plenty of sex, but it fits the theme of the anthology, and fits in with the dark nature of each short story. This isn’t a book to read from cover to cover in a single sitting. You should read a single story at a time, enjoy the feelings, the sensations, the unease, and the wicked thoughts that will play through your mind—and other areas of your body.
If the time is taken to savour, this book will serve you well.
A nice mix of dark fiction and sci-fi; with an undeniable heart of lust.

A preppy school where all but one of the student’s claims to have lost their virginity. This one special young lady would be the centre of attention from every angle, boys, girls, creatures from another dimension!
I began reading this thinking it was going to be an interesting insight into teenage girls of today and got way more than I bargained for.
The Orifice
Piercings with a difference. I’ve heard that some find the act of metal passing through different parts of their bodies extremely erotic, but Polly finds a way to take it to a whole new level.
The Dominatrix Has a Career Crisis
This is funny. From the title, to the society it’s set in, to the cult mentality of all the characters. Told from the dominatrix POV, it grinds and thrusts, packing a punch at every turn until the nipple clamps take affect and you piss yourself laughing as you shake your head in amazement.
The Pleasure Invaders
Without doubt my favourite in the whole book. It’s the future, the not-too-distant future, and there’s a new drug of choice. But it’s highly addictive and once turned, you just can’t get enough. Man or woman, straight or gay or anything in between, once you’ve had a bunch of these tentacles wrapped around where your nether regions, there’s no going back, even if you are the preeminent cop in the city. The ending was a little predictable here but it was still a brilliantly told story.

Ever wonder what today’s science will actually do to the children of the future, I’m guessing Polly did. Please--don’t free base this stuff, it’ll make you go off.
Imagine It
After covering sci-fi, fetishes, drugs and associated addictions, where else would any self respecting writer of erotica turn to but within. This chick, (the character in the story, but it could be equally directed at the author) has an imagination to make any teenage boy whacking off feel inept, regardless of how much he practises. ‘But it’s not real’ she’s told by her therapist. If it wasn’t real to begin with, her power of self has just given birth to a monster – oh wait, it is a monster, and she doesn’t want to imagine anymore, she also doesn’t want to do it by herself. She’s found a new way to get herself to the pleasure zone.

Linking in nicely with the last tale, we move to Hollywood. The home of decadence, big dreams, and little scruples--and the home of the female serial killer.
Test Drive
Back to the future we see people struggling to find true sexual pleasure. It’s all been done. The sex toy boom has died out by 2065, people are bored. Time to return to the basics. Time to reawaken the animal hiding in all men--and the women who really hold the reins. This was without doubt the best ending of all the stories. I was lead expertly through the story, building to what I thought an inevitable climax, when the tables were well-and-truly-turned back to the natural order of things.
Visions of Ecstasy
Back to the here-and-now. A sexual-psychic makes a misreading and is betrayed by her own sexual awakening. The past returns, but she’s able to give in to her carnal desires to reach the lifeline that’s offered to her. She just needs to be wary she doesn’t choke on it.

Where would a dark, deeply erotic anthology be without a tale of voodoo – oh, here we are, but this isn’t just any voodoo. If you intend to go out with your significant other to try one of those mould your private bit kits – don’t read this first. Or, if you really want to try something different, read this first.

Can I just say? Wowwwwww
This book is damn hawwwttt!!!
This book is warrrped!!!
Reading is always an entertaining experience; you're placed in another world, another experience, that you would not necessarily have otherwise known. Diving deep inside supernatural stories...even more exciting! Diving deep inside supernatural sex stories.... SCRUMPTIOUS! I'm amazed at the imagination of others, details I might not conjure up in my own mind. Can you say warped? Yet, I couldn't put the book down except in between the stories, and sometimes when it was necessary. I couldn't read more than one story at a time, I became so aroused that "hot and bothered" ME... needed a shower. I cannot lie, I also at times became alarmed. The more violent aspects did not arouse me, if anything it disturbed me. They're a lot of things in this world that are warped and disturb me. Who are we to judge? Are we not a product of our environment, so to speak? If you don't like this type of read, than don't buy the book. I'm not even going to spoil it and give details, it's a must read! I was curious, I quenched my curiosity. Remember this isn't for the faint of heart, if you like romance novels for the lovey dovey aspect, this is not the book for you. My mind will never look at sex the same. Sex is better than any drug and most certainly alters your state of mind forever, way past that immediate moment of luscious gratification. Just proof that your mind is the most powerful sex organ. I'm hawwwttt again just thinking about it! ; )

Erotica. Before I was sent a copy of Polly Frost's new collection of "extreme erotic fantasies" entitled Deep Inside, I, like many people, had a preformed perception of the literary genre. My experience reading erotic short stories and novellas in the past had left me a bit bored and rolling my eyes (and not in a good way) at the formulaic structure within which many erotic authors pour their words like a cheap and badly mixed martini. It was the literary equivalent of a bad porn movie; a lot of predictable lines uttered by hunks and dolls with cardboard personalities, massive over-usage of such words as "manhood" and "bosom" and "thrusting", little to no actual story and a lot of explicit, over-the-top sex...you get the picture...

This book was...filled with intense stories. I usually don't read books in this specific genre, but I honestly thought the cover was intriguing when I saw it at Barnes and Noble (yes, I judged a book by its cover and I feel awful, but at the same time, I don't.)
So anyway, the stories in this book were fantasized more than I thought they'd be. I liked almost all of them with the exception of two...maybe. The two that I didn't like were the ones that I had trouble connecting with. But overall, the stories work together to create this whole book and make it much more exciting. So yeah, this is an easy, fast-read, and I recommend it to many of you who are into this type of genre!

Polly Frost has put together a very unique collection with DEEP INSIDE. This collection is made up of a wide variety of kinks and she pushes them to their extreme limits by adding in supernatural elements. I found all of the stories quite entertaining, especially:

I enjoyed reading the stories in this book of erotica. The author Polly Frost takes some interesting looks at human sexuality. It is good to note that the book does say that it is supernatural erotica and it lives up to that. By far my favorite read was Viagra Babies about super-children that are born when people begin using Viagra has a mainstream drug for something other than its intended purpose. Another story Playing Karen Devere was interesting in that it makes you wonder how serious someone should get with the subject of a movie. Overall a nice read.

Oh god is there a way to give this book negative stars? I cannot even explain how two stories of this book has put me off from even looking at this.

This was just terrible. The writing was awful and the stories were just weird and no erotic fantasy anyone would have. I would have given this book no stars ...
