Tänk vad fel man kan ha ibland! Här gick jag omkring och trodde att alla mina problem var över. Skulle inte du ha trott det om du hade kommit till himlen och blivit en ängel?

När jag först kom hit till himlen var det verkligen rena paradiset. Men så hände det något. Under sommarlovet var min bästa kompis, Lola, och jag på olika håll. Jag var på sommarläger och Lola var på himlens äventyrsland. Problemet var bara att hon var där tillsammans med Brice, min värsta fiende. Och när de kom tillbaka hade de blivit lite väl bra kompisar.

Så från att Lola och jag hade gjort allt tillsammans, hade hon plötsligt inte ens tid att gå och shoppa med mig. Det var då jag tänkte ut min fantastiska plan jag skulle minsann visa Lola en gång för alla vad Brice egentligen var för en typ!

About the author

Annie grew up as an only child in the English countryside during the 1950s. Her father was not always around but when he was, he would tell her fantastical stories, often with her as the principal character. Annie missed him and his stories, which led her to the fantasy section at her local library, thus sparking life-long love of fiction.

After undertaking jobs such as waitressing, cleaning and factory work, Annie went on to study at University of Warwick and soon started writing.

Annie lives in Norfolk. She has three children, Anna, Reuben, and Maria (the inspiration for the first “Angels Unlimited” book, “Winging It”) and two grandchildren, Sophie and Isabella.

Für mich bisher leider der schwächste Band der Engel & Co -Reihe; daher nur 3,5 Sterne.
Lisa hatte bisher eine positive Entwicklung durchlaufen. Doch nun gab es gefühlt wieder einen großen Rückschritt. Ich fand es sehr anstrengend, dass die Protagonistin so selbstsüchtig ist und ihre Aufgabe aus den Augen verliert. Auch die Story konnte mich insgesamt nicht so wirklich überzeugen. Vor allem das Ende war etwas wirr und sehr hektisch. An dieser Stelle hätte ich mir mehr Zeit für einzelne Handlungen und Ideen gewünscht. Ich bin gespannt, wie es im nächsten Teil der Reihe sein wird.

Good continuation of the series, but in this novel Mel does get a bit tiring. As a reader, I either want her to stop acting childish, or confront her bff head-on. However, I do really like the story, and Georgie is a fascinating character. One of the better Earth plotlines.

There were some portions that felt a bit lazy, particularly on page 90: "it would be completely unprofessional of me to reveal what happened next." So bickering with someone's you're travelling with isn't? Fighting over your friend's affection with the person you're bickering with isn't? Why gloss over what you did to 'hijack' a séance for about 10 minutes? It would have been an opportunity to display the how much they can interact with ghosts and the real world.

Other than that, I don't have much else to say. I read it pretty quickly, which I think is telling. I do think I enjoyed it more than some of the others in the series so far, even as an adult (though nostalgia may be playing a role in that).

J'aime découvrir toujours plus les personnages. Une chose ne change pas, Mel et les fringues ^^” Que ce soit les protagonistes principaux ou secondaires, ils sont tous plaisants à suivre.

Il y a pleins de petits messages subliminaux. C'est mignon. Ex. Pas besoin d'être amoureuse pour être heureuse.  

N'empêche que j'ai souvent du mal à me souvenir qu'ils n'ont que 13 ans au vu des dangers auxquels ils font face. En même temps, ça se ressent un peu dans la maturité pas toujours très présente dans les réactions de Mel ^^ elle est adorable !

Leur mission dans la Rome de Néron est particulièrement intense. La jeune fille que Mel et Leo suivent est pleine de sagesse pour son âge et son époque. Le travail sur l'aspect historique se ressent et est agréable (dixit la fille qui déteste l'Histoire ^^). Léo est un peu plus mis en avant et ce n'est pas pour me déplaire.
