Stay out of the woods...the moose are loose and the men are hungry.

Nurse Practitioner Eva Stuart’s life is messed-up. She found her fiancé in bed with her best friend Jeremy, which has killed her confidence as a desirable woman and brought her judgment into question when it comes to men. Needing a change of scenery, she leaves Cincinnati behind for the wilds of Alaska and opts for running a medical clinic in a remote town. Her life quickly changes from messed-up to moosed-up as nature takes a stab at her.

Wildlife Refuge Officer Lynx Maiski is big... and hot... and hungry for a mate. He’s more than willing to show Eva just how sexy she is. After all, sometimes what a street-smart woman really needs is a forest-smart mountain man. But he’s keeping a secret that seems destined to ruin his chances at love.

Soon they are dealing with small town interference, a sun that refuses to set, deadly poachers, out of control lust, and a matchmaking moose on the loose.

I was caught off guard recently and found myself sitting in a waiting room with nothing to read. No Kindle or iPad and then I remembered I had downloaded this freebie onto my iPhone and I'm so glad I did:)!

I immediately was laughing at the heroine, Eva, and the predicament she found herself in. A NP, she's running from heartache and has taken a job in the small, remote village of Chatanika, Alaska. Coming from Cincinnati, cultural shock is an understatement.

Soon, she's being chased by Bulwinkle, a large Moose, straight into the arms of very sexy Lynx Maiski. Lynx is the local veterinarian as well as an officer for the Yukon Flats National Wildlife Refuge. He's tall, gorgeous and sexy as sin.

There's a little cheesy, a little unbelievable, but all in all, a quick, fun, sexy read! I enjoyed the characters, the setting, and the short story.

After reading Impact, the first book in this series, I had to follow up with Moosed Up! And I’m so glad I did. This book was hilariously witty!! I found myself either smiling or softly snickering while I was reading.

The other thing that I noticed, while this was the 2nd book in the Wild Men of Alaska, these books a stand-alone books….the only thing that connects this series is the fact that they take place in Alaska and the men are smoking HOT!!!

Same as the first book, Tiffinie Helmer ,once again captures the beauty of Alaska and her people. Only this time it’s with a big dash of humor and a touch of mystery.

Eva and Lynx were both strong and very likable characters that you can’t help but fall in love with. The bantering between these two had the grinning ear from ear. And the chemistry, sizzling hot!

I’m now on to the 3rd Book….Dreamweaver!!

Within the first few pages I was giggling with this story.

It's witty, humorous, has wonderfully delivered characters and had me intrigued with the beautiful and deadly Alaskan country that Tiffinie has put forth.

I'm not sure how many times I was snickering to myself in bed. Tiffinie has entwined humour, and suspense throughout this romance, as well as a smokin hot bedroom scene that will surely melt those ice caps of those Alaskan mountain tops.

The romance was smokin - ** waggles eyebrows ** the storyline was intriguing, even the banter between Lynx and Eva had me sheepishly grinning. The chemistry between the two characters was evident and also kept me gunning for Lynx !

Lynx - now don't get me started - with Tiffinie's vivid descriptions I must say If Eva hadn't snatched him up... I surely would've had yet another book boyfriend!! lol. If I had an unlit fire Im sure that Lynx could set it on fire ! ** snickers ** YEAH HE IS HOT !

I enjoyed Eva's character - her antics and banter amused me - yet her strength was also one of her assets !

Moosed up - will have you sheepishly giggling where ever you may be reading - your reader in frenzy in other sections and overall sigh at the ending! All aspects of this story have been well put forth giving the reader everything one could want in a read. A sexy story filled with a little danger and few giggles added to the mix.

A quick read - but enjoyable by all means. Tiffinie has put forth a Novella that will not only have you wanting more, but in search of more of her stories.

I'm reading the books in this series all out of order but I kinda, sorta find myself loving them. This time around we get a spritely nurse who's trying to outrun her problems and a mountain of a man with an affinity for animals and a town full of family. In fact, I liked this one so much that I downloaded it for my mom when her back was turned. I'm certain she'll thank me for it later!

Everything about this book works for me. The small town. The sometimes clueless, always sexy male. The matchmaking moose. The fiery heroine. The sexy, sexy shenanigans. I liked it all. I liked the danger. I liked that Lynx was dangerous when he needed to be. I liked that he was able to take advice from a 10 year old. I'm getting my fangirl flail on here, people. It's all elbows and shrieking. It's not pretty.

Bottom line, these books are completely full of win. I made the mistake of reading the excerpt at the back of this book for another book in this series and now I want it, too. Dang it.

I bought Tiffinie Helmer's other release, Impact, and LOVED it... This one looked different but I tried it because I pretty much decided I would read WHATEVER this author put out there. Can I tell you I am SO glad I did! This book is laugh-out-loud hilarious and probably has one of the best love scenes I've ever been privileged enough to read. And, true to form, Ms. Helmer made me fall in love with the beautiful and dangerous wilds of Alaska while bringing me to deeply care about the characters. Another great read! Keep them coming!

I’m glad I gave Tiffinie Helmer’s books a chance, despite not liking the first one in this series. I’ve realized that all of the characters seem to have an awkwardness to them that the reader can feel mostly near the beginning. But overlooking that is very easy since the rest of the plot is definitely worth reading. There is humor, fun dialogue, and a minor uncanniness in the story. Can’t wait to read more from the author!

This is my first Tiffinie Helmer book. I have others and plan to read them also. I really enjoyed this short and sweet romance. It was refreshing to have some conflict that didn't involved "damaged" people, a huge misunderstanding, a naive young girl and wealthy men - just a couple taking a chance with each other, and some sexual tension that was resolved in a fashion that fit the story well

This was a very good story. I liked Eva and Lynx and their story was enjoyable with a bit of a surprise twist.

Eva is a nurse practitioner. She had been in a happy relationship (or so she thought) but her life took an unexpected turn when she discovered her boyfriend in bed with her BFF. What was even more shocking for Eva is that her BFF is a gay man and now her (ex)boyfriend is living happily with her (ex)BFF. Eva needed a change so she moved to Alaska for a 2 year contract at a small clinic.

Lynx is the law enforcement for the local Wildlife refuge in his town and he's also a vet. He grew up in Alaska and most of his family lives in the same town he does.

Eva isn't in town too long before she gets lost in the woods near her house and gets chased by a Moose. She climbs a tree to get away from it and ends up attracting Lynx's attention. Lynx gets the Moose to leave her alone and then helps her with an injury she got from the tree. There's a strong attraction between them but there's also a certain amount of antagonism between them since Eva can be a bit bitchy when she's stressed/freaked and Lynx isn't very good with talking to women (at least it seems that way outside of sex). Regardless of his annoyance at this outsider, Lynx can't help but want her and feel the need to find out more about her. He manages to get Eva to agree to a date but unfortunately for both of them, things seem to keep going wrong in ways that makes Eva unsure of where she stands, if Lynx actually liked her or if he's really just a jerk. I liked Lynx and Eva together though and although the story is an insta-love, I felt enough of a connection with them that it worked for me. By the end, Lynx and Eva are pretty solidly together. When it ends there's still some things that need to be worked out but there's a confidence that they're good together and will do what's needed to ensure their HEA together.

I enjoyed this story very much. Lynx and Eva were both likable characters. They had their issues getting together but I liked how they both worked towards it, even if sometimes haltingly. I actually was a bit surprised by what Lynx's secret ended up being (think Dr. Doolittle). Overall, I thought this was a very good story and I'd recommend it. :D

* note - I listened to the audio version of this story and the narrator did a good job.

Up, Up, and Away!! Soaring Read! I loved this introduction to Chatanika, Alaska! This is part of the Wild Men of Alaska box set and is the prequel to Shiver, which comes out soon! The story was quick to read about 110 pages - but was full of comedy, romance, and poaching! And now a bit about the story...

Eva has had it with men! She just lost her best friend to her fiance - she knew he wasn't awesome in bed, but she had never realized he was gay! What was worse than kicking the no good cheating fiance to the curb was that she lost her very best friend. To try and get back into the swing of things again, she uproots herself from the midwest and moves to central Alaska to run the medical clinic. Think "Northern Exposure" --- boy do I miss that show! One thing leads to another and she ends up hiding in a tree from a local moose - luckily the handsome trooper named Lynx comes to her rescue. Join these two as she tries to heal her heart. She thinks she is falling for him - or maybe soaring high, but she knows he has a secret. Give Moosed-Up a try to find out just what he is hiding!

Favorite passages:
- "If anything, you need to pack on a few pounds. Winter's coming, and you need a layer of fat to survive it." Or someone hot like me in your bed keeping you warm, he thought.
- "Moosed-up is when you've been messed-up by a moose. It's just faster and easier to say moosed-up."
- He put the food in fronbt of her much the way he'd approach a wild animal. Cautiously.

Imagine a moose walking out of the woods with a lacy bra hooked in his huge antlers! Imagine a cute curvy girl trying anything to get her bra back without getting killed! And imagine the sexiest guy coming to the rescue using his inherited powers to talk with the wild moose!

Eva, a nurse whose heart was broken runs away to Alaska to escape life and men in general. But one can never run away, because you’ll bump into whatever you are escaping. Lynx is ready to conquer Eva’s heart just like he has conquered the Alaskan wilderness and the many poachers. Little did they both know whom they were up against.

Funny, sexy, easy romance with the beauty of Alaska as a backdrop made me laugh and forget the cold outside my own door, and the winter winds howling outside. This is definitely a book to read next to the fireplace in your favorite pyjamas with a steaming cup of hot chocolate dotted with mini-marshmellows.

What initially drew me to Moosed Up is the setting. I much prefer non-urban story settings, and Alaska definitely meets that requirement. I was pleasantly surprised when the characters revealed themselves to be just as entertaining!

Eva is a woman who has moved to a small town in Alaska to nurse her heart back to health after finding out her husband is gay. Lynx is the wildlife officer in the same town- one where non-relation women of a dating age are scarce. From their first meeting, the reader can feel their connection, and the story is fulfilling throughout.

The only thing I wished was that there was more story! When I finished, I was unhappy that it wasn't going on!

I'll definitely read more of Tiffinie Helmer books!

This was a cute one!

This was a cute one. Had a little more meat to it than IMPACT which was the first in the series. I really liked all the characters in this one. Eva and Lynx were well-matched, the people of the town made me chuckle, and I hope to see more of them.

I don't know if that's going to happen because although MOOSED UP is the second in the Wild Men of Alaska series, it really didn't have anything to do with the first book other than the fact they were both set in Alaska.

No matter, I would like to see more of this crew. I will definitely be continuing with this series in the new year.

Any book that has me giggling my a** off in the first three pages deserves a 5 star review. I loved this story. Eva is completely in over her head, coming off a 'bad relationship' hangover with a move to of all places, Alaska. Lynx makes me drool like an old lady looking for her teeth and the Moose ruining Eva 'reputation' is priceless! Would I recommend this book? Um yea! I'd scream that recommendation on a rooftop swinging a lavender bra over my head.

My first time reading anything from this author. I found the story to be very entertaining. It's different, funny and has some great characters. I ADORE BW for reasons anyone that reads this will understand.
My only complaint is I feel as if the ending was very rushed. Compared to the way the story flowed it was...not enough. I was left wanting more and found myself curious as to if/how the relationship worked out.

I haven't been able to figure out why everyone likes this book so much. After reading the reviews I thought this would be a quick, fun read. I was disappointed. I didn't connect with any of the characters and the steam factor between the two main characters was just meh? to me. Oh well, to each his own. I wouldn't recommend it but, apparently I am in the minority here.

If you like Janet Evanovich and Northern Exposure you'll like this book. Eve is a nurse practitioner who's come to Alaska after losing her boyfriend to another man. With a moose on the loose decked out in Eve's bra and a hunky forest ranger who just might be able to talk to animals this book has great characters, humour and mystery. To me that's a great combination.

This was a good, quick read. I liked that it had action along with the romance story and a nice sex scene. The only thing I didn't like was the "secret" he had was revealed at the very end and the author didn't delve very deeply into the subject even though it seemed like she had been building up to the revalation for a good portion of the book.

Tiffinie knows Alaska as few authors do. Her settings, characters and situations are dead-on authentic.

If you want to know more about the real Alaska, read her Wild Men of Alaska series.

Slick‘s review posted on Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

4 STARS

My husband found this book and sent me the link, after reading the synopsis I had to read it. First off, hello the series is called Wild Men of Alaska. Secondly, it sounded a little Northern Exposure(ish) and I still watch that show thanks of my DVD collection. Then I read the first chapter and it was a must…the heroine, Eva Stuart, is a nurse practitioner in a small Alaskan village. She’s the only medical personnel there. When we were in Skagway this summer, our tour guide informed us that they have a state of the art medical facility but they only had a nurse practitioner on staff because they’d been unable to recruit a doctor and asked that anyone who knew of someone looking for a position was encouraged to have them contact the city. It just seemed like fate!

Eva’s had a rough couple of months. She found her fiancé in bed with her ex-best male friend and she’s taken a position in a remote Alaskan village. She misses the best friend, the fiancé not so much but being chased by a moose is making her question her rash decision to relocate until she falls quite literally at the feet of Lynx Maiski.

Lynx is an officer for the National Wildlife refuge. The minute he’s near Eva it becomes quite evident she’s unlike anyone he’s known before. His entire family lives in the small village and everyone knows him which can be good or bad. He just plans to make sure he gets Eva in his bed before all his secrets are spilled.

This is a fun romance with just enough humor and danger to make it interesting. These characters were so fun to watch. Eva is so out of her element and Lynx is like no man she’s been with before. He’s a take charge alpha male and she’s not sure how to handle him or the feelings she has when near him. Lynx has never had to work so hard for a woman before. Eva keeps him on his toes and repeatedly puts him in his place. I loved watching him try to woo her even when she wasn’t receptive. It was amusing and pleasurable. When they do finally get intimate, it’s sexy and hot and neither one is complaining!

Moosed Up is a fun romance with just enough humor and danger to make it interesting and enough romance to make it sexy. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and look forward to reading the next two in the series.

Want a hilarious look at the beautiful Alaskan wilderness and some hot loving? Moosed Up is the book for you!
When nurse practitioner, Eva Stuart gets chased up a tree by "bullwinkle" her knight in shining armor, Linx fails to save her beautiful fanny, but he does stitch it up. That should count for something, right?
Moosed up has it all, action, humor, suspense and heat. Psycho poachers on the loose complicate the romance between Eva and Linx, but love always finds a way to prevail.
I loved Eva! She is strong and snarky, my favorite kind of heroine! Linx is a good hero too. A man dedicated to his profession and family, a bit of a player in the past, but more then willing to adjust his thinking when the right women finally comes along.
I finished Moosed up at 2AM last night, from 1 o'clock on I kept telling myself, "one more chapter" I just couldn't put it down!
I highly recommend Moosed Up!

After reading Impact I had to continue reading Tiffinie's books. Tiffinie's writing makes me want to take a trip to Alaska to see all the wonderful things it has to offer that we get to read about in her books. The details are vivid, really making you feel as if you are in the story.

Oh wow does the title fit this wonderful story. This story was packed with everything you could possibly want when reading romance.
Smoking hot passion between Lynx and Eva. I loved how their relationship grew as the story went on. I had so many laugh out loud moments. This story had exciting twists that kept you wanting more.

Lots of action, passion, love, emotion and plenty of laughs. A complete package.

Tiffinie's men are to die for and her women are strong enough to stand beside their men. I loved this tale. Its a must read.

I posted on Facebook for a light easy entertaining book to read and a fellow reading friend recommended this one. I am glad she did. I loved it taking place in Alaska as it is on my bucket list. The author paints a beautiful story with scenery descriptions that made me feel I was actually in Alaska.

It was an enjoyable read with funny parts, a love story, and some bad guys. Eve was a feisty heroine that I connected with and Lynx was a manly man that just makes a girl squishy inside.

I think the moose needs his own story and he was part of the laughing part of the story. I recommend this book for everyone and give it 4 Hearts for its entertainment factor

3.75 RATING- Moosed up was a quirky novella that overall was an enjoyable read. This is the second book in this series I've read and once again, I liked the hero more than the heroine. A few laugh out loud moments. A good palate cleanser when short on time.
