What if with one choice you could change your whole life in a matter of seconds?

Aston Boyd has always put everything into her work. She has never needed anyone in her life and has survived on her own since she was 18, never looking back. When she gets her dream promotion and becomes the new editor at one of the biggest publishing houses in Arizona, she thinks she has finally figured it all out.

But, when Aston receives an invitation to her first love's wedding, she starts to re-evaluate just how much she has given up for her career.

With a mission in mind to try and win back the one she let go, she never took in to consideration that what she might need, or even want, could be right in front of her.

Will she be willing to put her heart out there to get back the life she could have had, or will she try for something new?

Sloan Holden is the quintessential bad boy trying to cover all that up with his good boy act. He has spent the last 9 years trying to prove to his over bearing father that he can change his ways, and one day run his publishing house. The only thing standing in his way is the slew of fast women and his wild lifestyle, which he just can't seem to give up. He doesn't do relationships and always vowed to stay single forever.

A lot can change when the one person you thought you would never fall for worms their way into your heart, but will the feelings be returned?

This book was extremely confusing.

I'm confused by all the 4/5 star ratings it got.
I'm confused by why goodreads thought I would enjoy this.
I'm confused by why this was the cover chosen.
I'm REALLY confused as to why the author doesn't "introduce" you to the two main characters until 52% into the book. By then we're already supposed to care for them and want them to succeed, not just be "meeting" them and learning about their past!!!!
I'm also confused as to why it was told in the fashion it was. Alternating POV books are usually my favorite but this author got it all wrong IMO. How can you go through 48 hours with one character and then set the clock back those hours again and tell everything that just happened again from a different POV? I'm sure it's possible but I'm sorry, this author was not successful at it.
I'm beyond confused at how anyone reading this can find any redeeming qualities in Sloan (the lead male). He's an egotistical, douchey, pig. I mean, come on! He's pursuing Aston (the female lead) and at the SAME TIME bringing home chicks to sleep with! After kicking a girl out one morning he then goes into work and asks Aston to spend the night with him at a hotel before they go to her friends wedding the next day. I'm sorry, but NO. MAYBE if the author would have introduced the characters better in the BEGINNING of the story I'd....nope. Not even then would I think it's ok for him to have sex with a stranger one night and then the women he SUPPOSEDLY cares for the next!!!!
Oh Aston wasn't much better though! Anytime Sloan didn't do or act like she wanted she would run to one of her exes. And let me tell you, there were a few in this story! And what was the deal with Aston and her BFF Shelby's constant name calling? "Hey Slut" "Hey Whore" "You dirty skank" "No Asshole".... That was all in ONE conversation. This went on almost EVERY TIME they talked, I'm sorry but it got old quick. For me, Aston just came off as an immature and selfish brat. But like I said earlier, maybe if I was "introduced" to her earlier than more than HALFWAY into the book I'd cut her some slack and actually care. But I wasn't, so I don't.

In my opinion, there are WAY better books out there to read than this one!!!! Save you money for one of those...and you time! Shame on you goodreads for recommending this to me!!!!

WHAT. THE. F*CK. DID. I. JUST. READ????

OK, to be fair, this is yet another choice I made strictly based on the cover but this time it didn't quite work out as good as it did last time.

The sad part is that this book actually had potential to be a really cute novella. Instead it turned out to be a very mediocre book. Aside from main characters having the most bizarre names, reading this felt like every time you took two steps forward, you ended up taking three steps back because every chapter was from either his or her POV so you had to read about the same event/situation twice which got really tiring very early on in the book. Then there is the main heroine who is in love with Darren? Sloan? Nole? Which one is it, woman??? Make up you effin mind already!! Arghhhhhhhh! How many people before the age of 21 was she going to marry/were loves of her life?? Then she stops talking to her best friend because ... wait for it ... she gets engaged before her. Really???

Anyways, 2.5 stars for me because Sloan was an entertaining character. I suggest you wait for this to be free or on sale before you decide to give it a shot.

This is a short, complete story told in Aston and Sloan’s alternating povs.

Aston Boyd a sexy feisty main character that has just received an invitation to her ex Nole’s wedding. Aston is a career minded woman who has come to the realization that all of her friends are married and that her love life is currently nonexistent.

"What the fuck was happening in my life? Was I unlovable? Was I just the girl who fixed them up all pretty and shiny for a new owner?"

Aston starts to focus on the fact that she has loved two men, Noel and Darren both relationships that have sadly ended. She decides to RSVP yes and the story takes flight.

Sloan Holder is the boss’s son with some major ass-like tendencies he has become hot for Aston. Slowly he finds that even though he has experienced heartbreak maybe love was worth another shot. He's not the only guy who is looking for a future with Aston.

During this story both Nole and Darren make several appearances. Till almost the very end a reader is questioning whom she will end up with.

I would have like much more back story on Aston’s relationships with Darren and Noel. The story felt that there was a lot of relevant information left out.

3.5 Stars!
I enjoyed this one. It was cute, had little angst and was steamy. It was just what I needed after a few heavy, angst-y reads.
I though Sloan was a bit of an ass....but I loved Aston. She was spunky and fun!
The storyline was a bit different then anything I've read lately which was also a nice change.
This was a standalone with a HEA--another plus.
I would definitely recommend, especially if you're in the mood for a light, quick read.

There comes a time where I knew I was going to get into a book and have to think long and hard how I truly felt about it. I seriously found myself doing this.......................

Misguided Heart is the story of Aston & Sloan or wait was it Aston & Nole or perhaps Aston & oh, who knows what else her past held. We are introduced to the beautiful Aston after her promotion at P.J. Holden & Son Publishing. She's been promoted to Senior Editor. Oh yes, she had it ALL the dream job, the dream house, and.... Well you will see exactly what Aston realizes she doesn't have when she receives wedding invitation to her ex's upcoming nuptials.

We are also introduced to the oh so bad boy Sloan Holden, yes the "big bosses" son, the handsome tattooed devil that is a play boy through and through. That boy didn't have a lick of sense when it came to pleasures of the flesh. But when you get a little further into the story and the background of his life things make sense. It was after all the common formula I see in most books these days. To say this book had me jumping up and down and out of my skin wouldn't be accurate. This book was good, don't get me wrong, but it was as if I figured it out or perhaps the "drama" wasn't enough for me.

Sure the book had plenty, and I mean tons of this..........................................

It was a very steamy sex ready that part worked for me really well but I don't know if the callousness I felt coming from Sloan in the beginning was enough to redeem him for me in the end. More times than not he had me......................................................

Aston's story was painfully sad but at the same time I didn't feel her "vulnerability" which is something that draws me to a character. I wanted to be able to say I was doing this.............

but I was more doing this by the end of the book.......................................

Misguided Hearts was a 3.5-4 star read for me some parts definitely 4 stars for sure.. It's a story of finding the one and that doesn't mean it's the one you thought it should be. It was a quick read for me that did leave me with the smile at the end for everything going the way I felt it would. If you are looking for a story that gives you the HEA this would be one for you.

Misguided Heart by Amanda Bennett is by far one of the hottest but yet sweetest books I have ever read! If you love Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire, Crash by Nicole Williams, Avoiding Series by K.A. Linde, or any thing like Fifty Shades then THIS is your next book!

Aston Boyd has worked for everything she has in her life. She has an established career, education, home, and life anyone could imagine. She has accomplished all of this on her own after her mother passed away when she was 18. There is only one problem, she has no one to share it with except her bulldog Bugsy. Aston is doing just fine with this type if life until she receives an invitation from her ex’s wedding. To go or not to go is the question? About this time, Sloan Holden ( The Son in P.J. Holden & Son Publishing) starts to gradually work hisway into her life. He has spent most of his career trying to prove to his Dad that he can run this company, but his Dad sees him for the new woman every night kinda man. Will he be able to prove him wrong? Why does Aston have such an impact on him? Aston has to decide if the man of her dreams been under her nose for the past 8 years or will her Ex walk back into her life for good?

Let me start by saying if you want hot, smoldering, bad boy trying to be good action…. This is it! This book had me at the prologue! I honestly don’t know if I can explain how I felt about this book… So here’s my attempt at it……

Aston is one of the most independent women I’ve ever read about. She is sure of herself, an awesome career, designer clothes, and seems to know exactly where she wants to go in life. There is one thing that totally CRACKED ME UP…. The fact that she had Prada, Manolo heels, True Religion Jeans, but yet still drive her beat up Honda Accord. For some reason, I just kept thinking with that type of a promotion she should have bought a new car! Maybe it had sentimental value… Or that’s what I kept telling myself! I also love the fact that once she’s back in her old stomping ground you see the REAL Aston… I knew she knew how to throw down and have a good time! Not only does she have a good time, boys from the past show up, and you see Aston show how strong she is….. Except when it comes to Sloan!

Sloan is smoking hot and I don’t mean like the kind that can be put out with an at home fire extinguisher …. Instead you need the whole damn fire department and even they need reinforcements! There is only one big problem… He’s not settling for 1 woman. He settles for a different woman ever night! Since the morning he ran into Aston trying to pour a cup of coffee, he had decided he HAD to have this woman! That is when his plan is put into action… Even if he has to do things that he’s not use to… Like go on a DATE!

Shelby is Ashton’s best friend. I freakin love her! She is Aston’s go to girl when there’s a problem. She is full of life, doesn’t have a care in the world, and doesn’t mind giving Aston her 2 cents and then some whether she wants to hear it or not!

Nole is Aston’s Ex….lets just say he reminds me of some guy that thinks he’s all that and then some…. I have to say I didn’t like him at ALL! Now Aston’s opinion of him is different than mine.

Amanda Bennett has outdone herself on this one! I give it 5 Stars! I love how you can see both Aston and Sloan’s POV back to back…. You know exactly know what each of them are thinking. This story is torrid, scorching, red hot! Yet, it is also about 2 people that have never let anyone into their lives without pushing them away. The chemistry between Aston and Sloan will replace any other book boyfriend you might think you have! You’ll ask yourself…. Who the hell is Christian Grey, Travis Maddox, Kellan Kyle, or Jude Ryder?! So on THIS FRIDAY get MISGUIDED HEART by Amanda Bennett.

***4.5 Saucy and Steamy Stars***

For Aston Boyd her career has always taken priority in her life, never needing or relying on anyone since she was 18. She thought she had her life figured out after landing her, her dream promotion making her an editor at one of the largest publishing houses in Arizona. She was happy and content with being alone and focusing all her time and energy in her job that is until she received a wedding invitation to her first loves wedding. After much thought she realizes she is lonely and wants nothing more than a warm man to go home to at night and she is determined to win back her first love, Nole, the one she let slip through her fingers.

Sloan Holden (applause please) is your typical bad boy on the inside but trying to show off his good boy persona to try and win his father over into one day letting him run the family owned Publishing House. He has his own sad past, one that he isn’t sure he is ready to leave in the past and move on and be happy. Aston Boyd gets an idea, to make Nole jealous, she will invite Sloan Holder as her date to the wedding in hopes that showing Nole she has moved on will make Nole want her back. But soon the act they start playing, starts playing them. Feelings get developed, hearts will get broken. Will Aston get her happily ever after with bad boy/good boy Sloan Holden (again applause please) or will her misguided heart lead her back to her first love?

Okay….Let me calm my racing heart and take a breath (don’t think about Sloan, don’t think about Sloan – dirty images running through my mind about Sloan Holden)……….OKAY! I am ready now. I loved this book. I enjoyed that Amanda Bennett not only gave us Aston POV but gave us Sloan’s (WOW) POV as well. Each situation you knew what Aston and Sloan were both thinking without sitting there wondering. Aston is your head strong business woman who knows what she wants. She wants a career; she wants to run her life without the distraction of a man – until after getting everything she wanted in her career she still found herself lonely and craving the male touch. Going to Nole’s wedding she is was determined to win him back and she was going to use Sloan Holden (drool) to win him back. But as you can tell the longer she spent with Sloan the more her body craved him and she found her heart torn between Nole and Sloan (hell she can have Nole – I’ll take Sloan).

Sloan may seem like a bad boy – and trust me those sides of him come out in this book (he found himself in time out a few times) but deep down he has a loving heart but it’s broken and he isn’t sure he is ready for Aston to put those pieces together again and take the chance of her breaking it all over again. Some of the scenes in this book, well after reading them, I had to put the book down and fan myself – it got that hot (again Sloan – WOW).

This is a fun, steamy, sexy, feisty, heart pounding, drool dripping book and I loved it!! I also fell in love with Sloan Holden (DROOOOOOOLLLLLL) and I can’t wait to read more of Amanda’s work. This was a little different from her Broken Series (Beautifully Broken and Breaking Beautiful) although it included beautiful men and steamy scenes this one was more fun and feisty and it was a joy to read. If Amanda keeps writing books like Misguided Heart I will be a fan for a long time coming. Okay now it’s time for me to go so I can dream about Sloan Holden……YUMMY

Besides from the cover of the book, there was nothing appealing about this story.

Aston is straight up desperate it just pisses me the fuck off, it's like reading about a little toddler who can't decide what kind of flavored ice cream she wants. I was soooo bored out of my mind that I had to skip a few chapters to see if it was going to get any better and guess what? Nope.
Not even a little.

She gets an invitation to her ex's wedding (The ENGAGED Nole from 10 years ago, who she is still in love with *row eyes*) , she asks her boss's son (The PLAYER Sloan, who she thinks is sexy) to be her date to the wedding, she then sees another Ex (The MARRIED Darren from 8 years ago, whom she is also in love with *rowling eyes again*) at the bar.

It's so pathetic.

" I looked for an escape route, realizing that I just couldn't do this. I couldn't stay and watch the one man that I was supposed to marry, stand up in front of his friends and family and forever devote himself to someone else"

ARE YOU SHITTING ME?! 'One man'?
Honey it's not just 'one man', it's a whole motherfckn THREE MEN.
Not a few hours ago you we're getting ass hurt after finding out that Darren was now Married, you're ass hurt that Nole is getting married?! To top it off you still fcked Sloan.

SLOAN is so invisible.

I could barely tell who the hero of the story was by the way the heroine was jumping around.

This is where I drew the line.

Credits to the Arthur for efforts though. It was just not my type of book.

I really hate to give bad reviews on anything because I know it is hard work to write a book, but it says something when I can't force myself to get through more than 50% of a novel. Especially one I paid for. But after reading almost half of the book then skimming through two of the last chapters i read, I just had to give up. I could have made a drinking game to how many times the characters winked at each other and been sloshed. I found myself rolling my eyes numerous times at the story and the dialogue. Aston was a super annoying lead, she seemed to run into guys she's slept with or had a relationship with and just about all of them despised her. Can't say I blame them. When they were at the Toby Keith bar, one of them said she hadn't matured at all in eight years and i had to say, i would agree. she was acting like she was in college with her bff, doing shots and showing off. And while I'm all for falling for the playboy, Sloan just seemed sleezy to me. I just couldn't get involved in their story at all.

A good book, which kept me turning the pages until rather late.

Aston is a busy, independent woman who gets a promotion at work, which is ultimately how Sloan, her boss, takes notice of her, having never really TAKEN notice before.

The banter between the two was greatly done and the pages soon heat, a lot! Part way through the book I have to admit I wasn't sure just who she would end up with.

There is a very good HEA to this book.

Misguided Heart is a story of an unconventional up-in-the-air love triangle between Aston, her past and her future.

Aston Boyd:
Our leading lady, if you will, is hardworking, motivated and independent. She has forsaken the pursuit of a fulfilling relationship and a family, deciding instead to remain focused on her career. A decision which has served her greatly, that is up until now. She, like many, has a past cluttered with relationships that have helped form the woman she is now; some kind and loving like the one she shared with her mother, though not all those relationships were beneficial. For the most part, they have left her closed off to love. It is one of these men from her past who now begin to shake her self-belief in the decisions she has made. When all around you are moving on with their lives, is it too much to ask, “what about me?”
“Now, after eight years of devoted service, I was finally where I wanted to be. I knew how to handle myself around Jim and I was a successful senior editor in one of the biggest publishing houses in the world. Now all I had to do was muster up the courage to attend my ex-fiancé’s wedding in less than two months.”

Sloan Holden (Her Possible Future):
He is cocky, arrogant, ultimate player-bad boy. But hey, who doesn’t love a bad boy? *wink* To add to his arsenal of bad boy tricks, Sloan, well damn he downright oozes sexiness! Honestly, how Aston hasn’t seen him in the 8yrs it took her to notice him, I’ll never know!! Just to set all your synapses firing at once, one word… tattoos!! Well it did it for me! He is on his last chance with his boss (also his father) to get his act together and essentially grow up and help to expand the family Publishing House. Like many of my favourite “bad boy” book boyfriends (and I’m sure yours too) there is a deeper reason behind the persona he portrays to the world; his armour against the hurt and pain life can inflict on us when we open ourselves to others.
“I knew I was a dick. Everything my father ever said about me was true. I was a man whore and even though I was letting myself fall for this wonderful woman, I was still keeping her at a distance.”

Nole Whittmore (Her Past that emerges like a Phoenix):
He’s ex-fiancé, the guy who invites her to his wedding though he still harbours feelings for her. They had had problems that lead to a hard break up and Aston walking away. His invites to wedding sets the crazy train in motion. When Nole and Aston meet again he is angry, curt and harbour bitter resentment towards her at first but realises he still loves her. Is it too little too late? Oh and I just have to mention his friends! I understand they are loyal to him but damn get over yourselves already it’s been nearly 10yrs!! All I want to say here is: “TOTAL DOUCHES”! When you read it you’ll agree!
“Just be quiet, Aston. Don’t talk, please. I’ve thought about this moment for the past eight years, don’t ruin it.”
“Fine! I’ll go, for now, but don’t think I’m giving up that easy.”

Misguided Heart is written from both perspectives found it interesting to be in the mind-set’s of both characters as it allowed us to delve deeper into what made the characters tick. Though the situations between them were the same for both as were their feelings, we get to see how differently they struggled over and reacted to these. The alternating sides were a little repetitive for a bit at the begining but it soon settled into itself.

I enjoyed the deeper emotional turmoil within the characters, Sloan more so. The more we learned of Sloan, the more I warmed to him. He is full of indecision when it comes to Aston. He doesn’t want more than to add an Aston shaped notch to his bed post but something about her changes that and somewhere in the midst of the wedding and the days that come he sees things in a new light. His bad-boy bravado is what has protected him all these years and letting someone see past it is something he had run from in the past, but can he stop Aston from making a crack in his armour? Is hewilling to risk her getting through this armour to his heart? Will she be worth leaving behind his past, his ghosts and move on?

I found Aston at times to be naïve, in thinking that the answers to her future were in her past. I did have one or two moment where I wanted to shout at her to wake up to what she was doing (like some of the Nole scenes) but I guess as with real life some things take more time to sink in when they’re happening to us as opposed to being the on-looker. I assume being that close to marrying someone and walking away could leave you with some small but of doubt or an niggling “what if?” in the back of your mind, but honestly Aston deals with the Nole situation rather badly;making him think he is in with a second chance at love with her, all the while she is doing the same with Sloan.

For the most part, the book was light heart and jovial but still took great care to ensure the big moments and turning points were appropriately sombre. There were a few characters that were introduced throughtout the story what I wanted to know more of like Darren for example. I wanted to understand his generally bitter and mean attitude towards Aston, but I guess break ups being what they are, it may be just down to that.I also liked the integration of music at different stages throughout the book. When I read a book I always tend to have certain songs attached to the characters, but by Amanda Bennett’s characters using songs to explain themselves it gives me a more meaningful link to them. If you want to listen to the Amanda’s soundtrack to the book, check out her Misguided Heart Playlist on Spotify.

Here’s a few songs that came to mind when reading Misguided Heart and admittedly in the days after too. You could say parts of it kind of stuck with me!

Beneath Your Beautiful by Labrinth and Emeli Sandé
Let Her Go by Passenger
Can't Get You Outta My Head by Kylie
Mirror by Justin timberlake
Domino by Jessie J
Belief by Gavin De Graw
How It Feels To Fly by Alicia Keys
When I Was Your Man by Bruno Mars

Overall I enjoyed the story; the “will she or won’t she?” monents, the “I can’t believe she did that” moments and all the times cheering on Aston and Sloan. I found myself urging them to realise how well matched they are for each other and wanting them surpass their own self-imposed barricades and limitations to find freedom, in each other.

The question is though, can we ever let go of the past enough to make a fresh start at a future?

Title: Misguided Heart (Misguided Series #1)
Author: Amanda Bennett
Genre: Contemporary Romance/Adult
Cover Designer: Wicked By Design (Robin Harper)
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Book Description:

What if with one choice you could change your whole life in a matter of seconds?

Aston Boyd has always put everything into her work. She has never needed anyone in her life and has survived on her own since she was 18, never looking back. When she gets her dream promotion and becomes the new editor at one of the biggest publishing houses in Arizona, she thinks she has finally figured it all out.

But, when Aston receives an invitation to her first love’s wedding, she starts to re-evaluate just how much she has given up for her career.

The only thing standing in his way is the slew of fast women and his wild lifestyle, which he just can’t seem to give up. He doesn’t do relationships and always vowed to stay single forever.

A lot can change when the one person you thought you would never fall for worms their way into your heart, but will the feelings be returned?

Review:

Tiffany: All I could do is smile as I read this book, especially reading Sloan’s accounts of the situations. He is a player and his next target is Aston, but she’s a tough cookie to crack! As Aston struggles to decipher the feelings she has for her exes, Sloan is winning her heart…or is he? On top of all of the boy drama in Aston’s life, she also happens to WORK with Sloan. YIKES! It gets worse…he’s her boss!! O_O

I really liked this story and how the characters danced around the feelings neither wanted to admit. Without even knowing, they also shared many similarities and were more alike then either thought. It was interesting to see how their love develops since they both (at first) aren’t looking for anything special. As a matter of fact they are kind of using each other to achieve their selfish goals. Yet, their attraction can’t be denied. It’s like the saying, “you couldn’t see it if it was right in front of your face”.

When you finally see the story getting to a great point, problems arise and we find out more about their personalities and their pasts. It was a very interesting account of who they were, who they’ve become and who they want to be….and more importantly who’s beside them when they discover the answer.

I enjoyed this book immensely! The only faults I had with it were with the many men in Aston’s life. It was a little distracting and confusing. Karen also pointed out when we chatted that some of the minor characters had little moments that were never explained. However, I’m thinking those are little hints that will be explained in a second book. Maybe?

Karen: Misguided Heart is a powerful story about two emotionally broken people who come together; first because of lust. Their relationship builds beyond the physical; which confounds both of them as neither are of them are emotionally ready for the feelings that are developing.

I think that author Bennett has a strong debut novel; but I would’ve liked to have read some detailed verbal dialogue between Sloan and Aston. Sloan is the more powerfully written of the characters.

What happens when you combine a strong female lead, a HOT bad boy and a HEA ending? Me…looking like this…

Misguided Heart…Aston (yes…like the car, I know – awesome!) and Sloan. I really liked Aston from the start. She’s independent, has a lot of spunk and I connected with her (plus she’s blonde and tall…and because I’m blonde and tall I think that rocks lol). Sloan is the typical bad boy that makes me swoon…tall, motorcycle, says allllllll the things I wanna hear.

"You better come in the next two seconds or I am ripping your skirt from your body and bending you over this desk. Don't toy with me Aston." ~Sloan

Yes Please! Happy Dance Time…

The drama comes in when you add in Aston's ex-bf, Nole… and guess what, he’s getting married! AND to top it off...Aston got invited to the wedding. Awesome recipe for a great idea, right? Yeah…that’s what I was thinking too. I don’t do reviews with spoilers…so I’ll stop right there, but let me just tell you, drama galore!

Honestly though…Aston and Sloan combined = hotness. Period. They’re chemistry was very apparent throughout the book and I never doubted their compatibility…as much as they fought it.

"It seemed that every time I had any physical contact with this man, my heart skipped a beat and my body felt like electricity was surging through my veins. I liked it! Probably more than I should.” ~Aston

"This woman was going to be the death of me, I could see it already.” ~Sloan

"God, I didn’t want to want this man. There were so many reasons to why this shouldn’t happen, but I couldn’t think of a single one at the moment.” ~Aston

"Never in a million years did I think it would be possible to feel this way again.” ~Sloan

I could quote them for days…like I said – I really enjoyed their connection.

And it wasn’t just their connection that I enjoyed – Aston and her best friend Shelby (also named after the car – coolest parents ever if you ask me). They just clicked, I enjoyed their banter and their friendship, it was very believable – reminded me of some of the close friends that I have.

I do have to give an "oogie alert" for Sloan's dad...he gave me the creeper vibes from the beginning. I dunno, just something about him made me go...

Don't ask me why...he was just...ick!

Okay…now here’s the part I don’t like – the stuff that didn’t work for me.

There were aspects of the characters (more than just Aston and Sloan) that I felt weren’t developed as well. It broke the flow for me because as I was reading I was questioning things…because it didn’t make sense for me. There were parts that were really well explained and described and then others where I was little clueless. Also, I know not every indie uses an editor – which is completely understandable – and I forgive unedited works, some readers don’t like to read unedited stories, which is fine too. I can read unedited books, up to the point where it becomes a distraction and takes away from me enjoying reading the story. I was just below that point with Misguided Heart.

If you’re looking for a quick, steamy read with two awesome characters - grab Misguided Heart ASAP. ☺ **3 Lip Biting Kisses**

Author Amanda Bennett kicked up the writing and hotness a notch with Misguided Heart. This is the third book by this author that I have read and I am happy to say that I am enjoying seeing her writing mature and develop.

Misguided Heart is about Aston Boyd and Sloan Holden. Aston is a successful woman who longs for a relationship of some sort and has failed in romance with the only two serious relationships she had. Both of those relationship ended and now Aston finds one married and the other headed to the altar. Sloan is a playboy womanizer, gorgeous, sex on legs and he sets his eyes Aston. This story is told in alternating points of view, which I appreciate to get both main characters’ perspectives.

So, what happens when Sloan finds himself drawn to,semi-stalking Aston and having an unfathomable desire for more than just one night? What happens when Aston is confronted by her exes and their unresolved feelings, and this strong attraction to Sloan? Aston is a strong character but still struggles between the men in her life. Sloan has a plan and that plan is Aston.

Misguided Heart was an entertaining light read, full of attraction and steaminess. What I found missing was a strong character development and really solid storyline. I felt we get a glimpse at who these characters are, but I felt that the strong connection to Aston was missing. I didn’t entirely connect with her to “feel” her. The storyline was good, but was missing that little extra something. That being said, I enjoyed Misguided Heart, I enjoy Amanda Bennett’s writing and look forward to more of her work and her continuing stories. If you’re looking for an entertaining read, mixed with some of the steam factor, then this is the book for you. Give it a try and keep reading!! 3.0.-3.5~stars

I love Amanda Bennett's writing and I really enjoyed this book. the only downside for me I felt like the ending was a little rushed, I would have loved to have known more.

For two people who don't want to let anyone in and get close to them because of there past the pull and chemistry between Aston and Slone keep you wanting more.

I loved Aston she is a strong independent women who is sure about herself, knows what she wants and has worked hard to get where she is in her career. The only problem is she has know one to share it with.
Wholly hotness Slone Slone Slone he is the bosses son and man whore. A dam hot man whore until he lay eyes on Aston and things are about to change. I loved the banter between Aston and Slone, both had issues with love in the past have a hard time confessing to each other how they really feel. The chemistry between Aston and Slone is freaking HOT!
The friendship between Aston and Shelby was awesome they talked trash to each other but are always there for each other.

I enjoyed reading from both Aston and Slones POV.. This book is HOT HOT HOT

OK when I first picked this book up I had a real hard time sinking into the story. I can't quite put my finger on why either that I couldn't settle on it. Was it because she was professing love from her previous two boyfriends and found an awful lot of men hot and do-able? Or was it his attitude towards the attraction to Aston?

But I have to say though it did get much better the more I read and although I still felt I could put this book down at any minute I was happy to read on. I enjoyed the way the author wrote a scene and then skimmed over it from the other person's POV, she never drew out it to be long winded which I appreciate.

This is a good romance but to be truthful it does lack a certain something, nothing major but there is definitely something missing. I can't deny the scenes between Sloan and Aston were very hot, I loved her sassy attitude, but I think there was too much off he liked something and oh she did as well, he rode a bike and oh she did as well..........

All in all it was a pleasant way to wile away a few hours, with a fair bit of hotness thrown in for good measure.

Honestly I was pretty into this book when I first started reading it, but as the story went on it became too unbelievable.

I guess the title of the story strongly describes both Aston's and Sloan's heart ... In Aston's part, she's still a bit hung-up on her ex BF Nole and Sloan, his holding-on to the memory of his dead girlfriend. That being said, is the obvious reason why the relationship isn't progressing well because of their reluctance to let go of the past...I guess its understandable that when we feel so strongly about someone, we don't get over them so quickly. Some people take a great deal of time to get over something so intense and special... someone who leaves a mark on your soul. But also, we cant control who we fall in love with no matter how non-chalant we force ourselves to be... and no matter how much our mind tells us to resist something, when our heart sets to feel for something or someone, there isnt much we can do.

I'm inlove with Aston's and Sloan's story, especially towards the end...

I really liked all of the characters and storyline. I wish there would have been a little more back story with them though so I could have gotten to know them better.

Loved bad boy Sloan. And if course Bugsey!!!

Great fast read!

I really liked the book, but I felt like it was cut too short. I needed more, but overall I liked it.

Only got to Chapter 11 before i gave up. The way this was written was almost childish and really struggled to get to know or understand the characters. They were too similar and didn’t seem realistic. Didnt like the way Sloans parts were basically repeats of what had already gone from Astons account.
