It was not my choice to leave my sad, delusional mother to carry on with my terrible stepfather in that trailer park. Life had not been a bowl of cherries so far and I didn't expect it would be for the foreseeable future, but one day, when I had made enough money, I would come back for her.
For now though, I was alone, broke, and homeless, so I took the first job I found. Waitressing in a dive bar.
I wriggled into my tight 'uniform' and presented myself for work. It was going along as well as could be expected until some ugly goons walked in. The boss had borrowed money from a loan shark and, surprise, surprise, he was having difficulty paying it back. They were there to remind him. It looked like trouble was brewing, but to be honest, I had my own problems and it was really nothing to do with me.
I was just the waitress on her first day there... until I overturned a tray of drinks on one of them, and suddenly everything changed. Just like that I became the target of a psychopath's wrath. Everybody was too afraid to get involved and the situation was fast getting out of hand.
That was when he stepped in. The Russian. Dressed in black from head to toe.
God, he was beautiful! Wild with wolfish silvery eyes and raven hair, he radiated danger. He spoke to them quietly in a language I did not understand, but there was no mistaking the feral menace in his tone and his sleek, lean body. The violent goons shrivelled up with fear and abject respect.
When they left with their tails between their shivering legs, he turned to me and offered me a job.

Amelia is forced to live with her stepfather who her mother ''adores'' and ''coddles'' but he is a nasty man who attempts to rape her one day and when her mother sees it she automatically faults her daughter and believes him over her. She slut shames her daughter about what she wears etc.
Amelia leaves her home and ends up getting a job at a strip club but as a waitress, on her first day she accidentally spills the drinks on a few mob guys, and this causes them to almost attack her, but Viktor (their boss) saves her and takes care of the situation.
He offers her a job as a one of his maids who cleans his offices etc. and she agrees. She finally has a home that is safe, and an income for herself.
He literally feels things for her he knows he cannot and spends the next month away, ignoring her and once she turns 18 he shows up again and takes her out and they cannot help but feel a connection.
Things move really fast between them, and they fall in love quickly too.
I have to say that his mafia was all legitimate business, and it is only that way after his former fiancée who was pregnant is gunned down in front of him. This also opens up a revenge plot that comes into play in this book. Viktor killed the man who killed her, and that guy’s son wants blood.
Sadly, Viktor is paranoid about losing Amelia like his ex and comes up with a plot to spend time apart and pretend they are not dating so she will not be harmed until he can find the guy who wants revenge.
Forcing Amellia and Viktor to spend over a month apart and she is moves back with her mother who came to her before about how she left her husband and got herself a new trailer to live in and she wants to rebuild their relationship again.
Amelia agrees and moves back in with her mother, at first things are fine and then suddenly she realizes it was all a ploy and her mother never left her stepfather, they had plotted for her to move back and bring money with her because of Viktor. The stepfather tries AGAIN to rape Amelia and beats but is stopped by Viktor!
Also, Amelia finds out that she is pregnant during their time apart but thankfully she does not lose the baby after what her stepfather did.
The main issue in this book was not the revenge plot but Amelia's mother who honestly can rot in hell. What a HORRENDOUS woman. She deserves to be forever stuck in that trailer park and die knowing she is worth nothing.
This read like a Tiktok influencer wrote it. Or one of those cheesy click-bait short drama serials with bad acting (am I the only one seeing those ads on Instagram?). I could handle cheesy but the writing is awful. All the pop culture references and world events dropped in here trying to make the characters sound educated did the exact opposite. Ex: Putin, Covid, Gen Z mentions, the hero is an older guy lusting for a 18 year old but "he's not like Epstein" y'all! 🙄😐 The heroine tries really hard to come off smart and she's not. Like I said, it felt like someone from TikTok wrote this trying to write a romance but just stringing a bunch of tropey scenarios together with awkward dialogue and no range or depth. And the poor grammar makes your head hurt with the author weirdly attached to the word "that" and sticking it where it doesn't belong. This is an age gap romance with an older hero who hires the run-away 17 year old heroine to be his maid. He's supposed to be this mysterious, worldly, cultured, sophisticated, older Russian businessman but really a knight in shining armor teddy bear who the heroine wants to hump from first meeting. There's literally no tension to be had here. He came off like a regular Joe who has the personality of a broomstick and all easy smiles and winks and everybody's friend and super nice to his staff, why he even hangs out with the maids! And the heroine is all flirtation and wants to fuck him. Moments that are supposed to be dramatic are so stupid, like the heroine falling into the swimming pool and nearly drowning and the hero who is already in the pool is wondering if she's naked and if he can fuck her until he finally realizes she's actually drowning..... 🥴🤦🏻♀️ And no the scene wasn't meant to be comedic funny. I can't take the amount of dumb that happens in this book.
okay wtf it is my fault I did not thoroughly read the reviews but there is a dead PREGNANT lover trope here which is not for me, I was at 23% and will not continue
Amelia has never had it easy, her mother has made a habit of bad choices including her current step-father who now has ideas to try and touch her instead. Amelia flees after a confrontation and ends up working at a bar where everything changes. A bad incident has her under the care of Victor, the new mafia boss. Victor though is unlike other Don's and he is working to get his interests above board. Victor houses Amelia as another cleaner in his big estate, but he is having a hard time denying his feelings for her. as they just begin but a threat is coming that could destroy it all.
Very different mafia story. I liked Amelia a lot she grows in this story and I think Victor sees this diamond in the ruff who deserves to shine. Will check out more from this author.
This book managed to mention Covid, TikTok, and communism (😭) in the span of 40 pages. Modern takes/ references in books genuinely take me out I've had enough- especially mixed in with questionable writing. Also why is the guy on the cover staring into my soul 💀.
I am new to this author, but i can say that i will be looking for more of her books. This book has a lot of things going, Mafia, physical abuse, danger and violence. The characters meet at a ideal time. Amelia was down on her luck and lied to get a job, when she left home because of her step-father. When she is working , she accidentally is in the middle Of a shake down. This is when Vittorio sees her and offers her a better job, They are soon dating and then living together. Their love starts to grow and the way things go, it proves that Amelia is the perfect woman for Victor. When the danger that they have been skirting around comes home , Victor sent her away for her protection until he can take care of it. It all works out and Victor protects her from her mom and step-father, and takes her back home where they have a love that grows stronger.
Get comfortable because once you start you won’t put it down until the last page has been turned but Georgia’s books are usually like that so hang on and double check that you are buckled up, dangerous men, alpha’s personified, possessive, oh, gorgeous, brooding all the makings of a story consisting with three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, betrayal, death, darkness, secrets reveled, violence, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love (ALL THINGS TO EXPECT FROM THE MAFIA WORLD). By the time you’ve figured out who is who and what is what, you’re already hooked, and you may as well give up the fight and prepare yourself for an all-nighter! CAN’T SAY YOU WEREN’T WARNED!!!!! Amelia is so sweet but her home life hasn’t been great lives with a mother who moves from husband to husband despite her daughter’s emotional health, working on husband number four who claims he can’t work sits in the trailer drinking, smoking and her mother made her drop out of school to work to help bring in money but losing her job means she is at the trailer more often and well you can guess where this is going the sick husband makes goes for her, blames her and the mother believes him over her. Amelia leaves home trying to find a job ends up having to lie about her age just to get a job at a bar waitressing but on her first day she spills a try of beer on a group of men who are after her boss and then they go after her but what they didn’t see was their boss. Viktor sexy as all get out Russian who steps in to save the situation because everyone else was afraid to help her even though it wasn’t her fault, he watch the gang of men go after the young women but he couldn’t take his eyes off of her and he wasn’t going to stand by allowing them to attack an innocent women while her jerk of a boss stood by watching. The moment they met attraction was instant, it was intense, and the magnetic pull can’t be ignored no matter how hard he tried walking away wasn’t an option so helping her get a better job, finding a place to stay and ensuring she was safe but when his enemies came for them of course he wasn’t going to let anything happen to her that included allowing her crazy mother to continue to hurt her but can he keep her safe, will she listen following what he tells her, will her mother understand the damage she has done to her only child, will the a** of a husband get what he deserve hopefully, and will they find the happiness?
Giving this book 2 stars is being generous. It had potential to be a lot better, but the mfc, Amelia, was annoying, made the stupidest and most cringy comments, I seriously wanted to squeeze my eyes for her. I just kept thinking “you seriously did not just say that?” The poor girl made a fool out of herself over and over again. I was embarrassed for her. She just came across as too naive, juvenile and desperate. This book was not a mafia romance, it was just a man, Viktor, who lost his pregnant girlfriend (who he did not know was pregnant because she had just found out that day) 5 years and 22 days prior, killed the guy responsible and now a decade later his son is back to get revenge. Honestly, I mean yes, it’s unfortunate Viktor’s girlfriend was killed, but he said he never loved her and didn’t ever think long term about their relationship, yet it felt like he was constantly thinking about her or thinking about what happened. It just didn’t feel right and the his thoughts in the book weren’t matching up to what he was saying previously. I mean for a guy who claimed not to love the woman and say he had dealt with what happened and moved, it was to believe when he had the day down to years and days. One thing I found absolutely absurd is when Igor, the son of the man Viktor killed, made his appearance by attacking Viktor’s house, his plan of action was send Amelia away to make it look like they broke up. But the ridiculous thing, and hard for me to wrap my head around was he was sending her back to her mom’s house- in a run down trailer park with a guy who tried to rape Amelia once and was the reason she originally left and on top of that with absolutely no guards to watch her. No mafia man in any other mafia book I’ve read would do that. None. And then to go two weeks with no communication or anything. Yeah, no. And don’t even get me started on Viktor’s whole final confrontation with Igor in the end. They were not two mafia men, they were just ridiculous and everything wrapped up way too quickly. Another thing that had me rolling my eyes was the fact she was 18, yet every where they went she was drinking champagne, ordering shots and cocktails. Never being carded once. This book wasn’t for me and I hate saying it, but I wouldn’t recommend it. But everyone’s opinion is different and may read it and absolutely love it. I, unfortunately, could not.

There is Amelia who has had a rough time in life. Her mom is on her fourth husband who is a real winner. Says he can't work and all he does is drink and smoke in his trailer. Amelia's mom had her drop out of school to help bring money into the household. She did it because she loves her mom. When she loses her job and can't seem to find a new one with what little skills she has, she is at the trailer more often. Her mother's husband makes more than a pass at her and then tried to blame it on her and her mom believes him. This is the last straw for Amelia and she leave intending to never return. She tries everywhere to fins a job and ends up lying about her age to get a job as a waitress in a dive bar. She accidentally meets Viktor when he is shadowing a group of his men & he immediately feels drawn to Amelia and when he learns she has no where to stay, he gives her a better job and a place to live. He tries to stay away from her but when he learns it is her birthday, he decides to take her out for a birthday to remember. This is the start of what is to be a nice love story. Viktor though he was a mafia guy has gone legitimate though he still has enemies. When the enemies come back to cause trouble, he strongly feels he must keep Amelia safe. He does not want history to repeat itself. This is a good story that keeps you reading to the end.
I voluntarily wrote this review from reading an advanced copy of this book.
Absolutely loved this. Characters are so loveable and the story is just such a sweet tale of love defying the boundaries that society erects.
Gorgeous billionaire bad boy Viktor Leschenko has worked hard to turn his empire built from drug lords and corruption into legitimate and prosperous businesses. He’s respected and revered but his philanthropy now far outweighs his previous misdemeanours.
When he meets the beautiful but down-on-her-luck Amelia she’s escaped the terrible life that she had been living with her mum and the worst of stepfathers. No longer wanting that life for herself she leaves the trailer park behind with just enough money to get by.
What she doesn’t expect on the first night of working in a dingy dive bar is to meet a man that is going to change her life forever.
Their story is so heart warming. And it’s a book I haven’t been able to put down from the moment I started reading it. I just loved the two main characters so much and despite how different their lives are, they just belong together. If I had one criticism it’s too short and I didn’t want it to end. But that is a good thing. It shows how invested I am in those characters.
Can thoroughly recommend all of Georgia’s work. Great writer that gives you all the feels with every story.
"I laughed and sit up, pulling her into my arms and kissing her again. I don't know what it is about this girl, but she's damn special. And now she's mine, and I'm going to make sure nothing can ever change that."
Leaving her mother behind Amelia sets out to find a job to support herself. She runs into a help wanted sign at a dive bar and is given the job on the spot but on her first day she spills a tray of beer. She ends up really upsetting someone who's after the bar owner but their boss Viktor stops him instantly and her whole world changes from then on.
Amelia really stood up for herself when everything was going wrong. She didn't believe giving up was in the books for her. The she runs into Viktor who changes her whole world. Viktor was so hard on himself with his feelings. He never wanted Amelia to get hurt because of him but he held on to her tight and never let go. The plot was written really well and I loved the love story written. The spice level was 2/5. I couldn't find anything to dislike about this story. I loved the connection these two had. It was such a sweet relationship. This was a well earned five stars.
• Age-gap • Touch her and 💀 • Dual POV • He falls first
Amelia is used to having nothing. Living in a trailer park with her Mum, who moves from one dead beat man to another. When the latest gets too handsy and Mum takes his side Amelia walks out for good. Enter Viktor, a man skating the lines of the Law but working to be a better man. He steps in when Amelia runs into bother and so begins a connection that takes them both by surprise. The chemistry between them is fabulously hot and Viktor soon starts to realise maybe there is more to life than one night stands. This is another great story from Georgia and as always the hero is hot and our heroine grows throughout the book. If I have any criticism ( and I can't believe I am saying this) there are maybe a few too many sexy scenes, I feel the story would still be amazing without a couple of them, but that's probably just me. Never the less this is a great read, if this is your first book from Georgia, please go back and look at her back list there are some fabulous books, my favourite being the Billionaire Banker Series and my All Time favourite, Saving Della Ray a standalone
Wow, Georgia le Carre doesn't disappoint with this book. If you like mafia romances with lots of steam, fast action and page-turning drama, this books for you. Amelia's mother is on her fourth worthless husband and the situation in the trailer park where they live isn't ideal, and she constantly faces abusive situations. Her mother makes her quit school and get a job, so she can bring in money for them. A bad situation arises at the dive bar where she works when she spills a tray of drinks on some men shaking down her boss for debts. Their boss, Vikor who's Russian and gorgeous, steps in and rescues her. Their chemistry is off the charts, and he is determined to protect her from everyone, even her parents. Prepare to lose a little sleep because once you start reading, you won't be able to stop. A great book with some triggers, but an HEA and no cliffhanger. I read an arc via Bad Boy Updates and voluntarily chose to review it.
Amelia was put on the street by her mother when she found her in the process of being raped by her husband. Later that night, Victor rescued her from a night club and hired her as one of his maids to clean his offices and estate. He comes home from Russia a month later to find his maids celebrating her eighteenth birthday and offers to take her to dinner. They start an all consuming relationship where they can't get enough of each other. This is a big change for Viktor who didn't do relationships because he had lost a prior pregnant lover in a shootout. Even though Viktor had killed the perpetrator and was now a reputable businessman the killer's son wants revenge. Viktor lets Amelia return to her mom thinking she would be safer. Mine to Possess is an age gap trope, billionaire romance, insta-lust, opposite attracts romance, with secrets, danger, betrayal, deception, revenge and retaliation, angst and action, and the drama of a surprise pregnancy.
Amelia has had a hard life. At 17, she runs away from home but is saved by a mystery man, Viktor. He gets her a job as a maid and leaves the country for a whole month. Now 18, she thinks this man is her hero... and she's not wrong! Several twists and turns happen but soon they can't fight the desire they feel for each other. It's a little bit of a slow burn, but man does it BURN.
This book was a nice surprise! I've never read a book by this author but I enjoyed reading it! Highly recommend if you like age gap/boss x employee romance books.
SAFETY: Ages: 17/18h, 28H (nothing is done until she turns 18!) OM/OW drama: none AT ALL!! Cheating/sharing: nope Triggers: attempted SA, parental negligence, murder Kinks: dirty talk, dry humping, face sitting, good girl/praise, rough sex HEA?: yes! <3
Amelia has had a hard life and comes from a dysfunctional family. When her stepfather attempts to ravish her, her mom comes in and instead of going after the stepfather accuses Amelia. Amelia leaves home and acquires a job at a bar with shady characters. When she spills beer on a man, he is ready to do something to her but Viktor steps in and Amelia's life will never be the same. This story had me glued to the pages all caught up in Viktor and Amelia as their lives unfold on the pages from start to finish. As usual Le Carre stories are so real you feel like you are right there with the characters with her wonderful writing style. She gives great care to details and character development making it such a great reading experience.

I will chalk another book up to a dry spell which has occurred too much lately in what is being published. This author normally writes very well but found this story lacking content, and relatable characters. The story dragged on from the 50% mark.
Amelia’s character never progressed from being a victim of an abusive mother who kept raising her ugly head throughout this book. It made Amelia’s character look naive and weak throughout the majority of the story.
Viktor’s character took a very long time to get his feet securely on the ground in how he dealt with Igor. It is never good to skim a book just to get to the end, but that is what I ended up doing. The ending was very predictable and nothing special in this genre.
This story could have easily been condensed into a much shorter novel and achieved the same outcome.
If you enjoy a sizzling Cinderella-and-her-prince meets knight-in-shining-armor, this is a book for you! It was a great read from start to finish, and you may need a cigarette yourself following these romance scenes.
I must admit, though I always enjoy the twist Le Carre gives, I really would’ve loved for her to challenge these characters more in the final showdown.
But as always, Le Carre weaves a winning plot with her stellar descriptive storytelling-style, and allows the characters to resonate with the reader and win your heart from the start.
Admittedly, I stalked this title since reading an excerpt earlier this year, and it was well-worth the wait!! Mine to Possess is another great read from Le Carre’s arsenal of great romance stories!.

A dark age gap romance with a touch of Mafia. Amelia has to leave the trailer park she’s been living in with her mother & stepfather for her own safety. She’s almost 18 and needs a job to support herself, which is when she meets Victor Leshchenko, whose family business is almost legit now. That was a bit odd as Viktor still had the staff of someone running his own crew. The revenge plot is fairly basic and I found more tension around the dealings with Amelia’s family. There was a lot of steam and Viktor and Amelia had a lusty connection, but given Viktor’s need to protect her, the events leading to her returning home didn’t ring true to his character. I’ll read this author in future but this book was only an okay read for me.
Heat: 7/10 Emotion 7/10 Story: 7/10 Characters: 7/10 Interest: 7/10 Writing: 8/10 POV: Dual No Cheating - No OW/OM sex No Cliffhanger
"Mine to possess" is a good story with a little suspense.
What I did like: - It is fast paced and kept my interest - Good main characters
What I didn't like: - I really don't like the trope maid/boss
Overall, i have read more books from Georgia Le Carre and i can say she is one of my favorite authors. In my opinion, this was not one of her best. Still, it has a nice plot, lots of steam and passion.

Amelia lives in a trailer with her mother and stepfather. Her stepfather tries to assault her and her mother blames Amelia. Amelia gets a job at a dive bar and on her first day she spills a tray of drinks on the goons who have come in to collect money from the boss. The goons start to go after Amelia and a handsome Russian man intervenes. Viktor is the man who saved Amelia and he has an interest in her. She is young and naive. Viktor takes Amelia under his wing and cares for her. Will Amelia and Viktor find love and happiness together? I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book via Bad Boy Update.
You’ll be stunned by this fated romance! I feel for Amelia who finds herself attacked by her Mom’s husband and decides that being on her own is what’s best for her with very little money to survive. Her luck seems to improve when she gets a waitress job in a dive bar, until she spills her tray on the men who are collecting money from her boss. What spirals out of control quickly, becomes almost a fairy princess story when Viktor steps in and offers her a job because he can’t quite seem to get his mind off Amelia. What follows is some intense suspense, steam, and betrayals as you’ll be wishing for their happily ever after!
Victor and Amelia's story will capture you from the first chapter. Victor is a ruthless businessman, but takes care of those who work for him. He has made almost all of his businesses legitimate, and once he cleans up his cousins mess some of his past will be behind him. Amelia ends up in the wrong place at the wrong time and finds herself in the path of the muscle for Victor's "mess" of a business. There is something about Amelia that intrigues Victor and he decides to take her with him and give her a better life. This has all the Mafia vibes - danger, intrigue, a possessive alpha who gets want wants, no matter how long it takes. Great read! I received this ARC from bad Boy Updates.
Amelia's life has been a struggle and now she finds herself in the middle of some shady business while at work. When things start to look scary a man steps in and helps Amelia. Victor is drawn to her and has been watching her since he came in. After everything that happens, he offers her a job and tries to help her into a better life. Sparks fly between them and soon things heat up. Will he claim Amelia as his own? Will she finally be done struggling?
This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book for Bad Boy Update.
Amelia has had a hard life and comes from a home where the stepdad makes a pass at her. Her mother didn't believe it and takes the stepdad's side where he said she came on to him. Amelia leaves the trailerpark and finds a job at a dive bar where she meets a mysterious stranger who saves her from a shakedown.
The plot was really well written and their love story showed how their relationship blossomed.
This was a really good story... another great story by Georgia!!

Amelia has a mother who is really a piece of work and let me tell you about the husband which is like #4, Dan. He’s a lazy, drunk piece of garbage who then tries to rape Amelia. Her mother walks in and of course takes his side so Amelia leaves. Best thing that has happened to her because then she meets Viktor at a seedy bar where she was able to find a job. He’s her night in shining armor and saves her in more ways than one. It’s a good story that will keep your attention with good characters within.
