This is a dry read, required for school.

An excellent introduction into the field that does an exemplary and mostly successful job of making accessible explanations for complex topics.

A likely candidate for rereading.

"I was once asked by a TV reporter (who was rather proud of his smooth speaking voice), 'What does this spectrogram tell you about the difference between your voice and mine?' He was surprised when I told him that the spectrogram showed that his vocal tract was smaller than mine. I never suspected that he might be a little sensitive about his height."
