Assolutamente no.
Alida, gracile undicenne, viene risucchiata con cinque amici in RootWorld, mondo parallelo a forma di albero, popolato da quelle bizzarre creature e collegato alla Terra attraverso le radici di querce secolari.
Una guerra imminente rischia di distruggere quel mondo e avere terribili ripercussioni perfino sulla Terra.
Come tornare indietro, alla nostra realtà? Per fortuna sul loro cammino trovano un terrestre disposto ad aiutarli, una vecchia stella del rock che si credeva scomparsa nel 1977...
Durante il viaggio Alida poco a poco capisce che il suo coinvolgimento nelle vicende di RootWorld non è dovuto al caso...

Alida, a frail eleven-year-old girl, is engulfed with five friends in RootWorld, tree-shaped parallel world, populated by those bizarre creatures and connected to earth through the roots of ancient oaks.
An impending war threatens to destroy that world and have terrible repercussions even on Earth.
How to go back to our reality? Fortunately on their path they meet an earthling disposed to help them, an old rockstar that was believed disappeared in 1977.
During the journey Alida gradually realizes that her involvement in the affairs of RootWorld is not due to mere chance ...

About the author

I was born in Ferrara, and shortly afterwards my parents moved to a small town in the countryside of Ferrara province.
There I went to the Classical High School during the 1980s. Subsequently I graduated in Civil Engineering from Bologna University. But I have another passion: telling stories. I’ve always had it.
Illustrations for comics, scripts for comics, painting, water colors and photography have been and are my preferred creative languages. Along with writing, obviously.

In 2008 I published the first book of ROOTWORLD, a weird-fantasy trilogy, with Domino Edizioni publishers. This is now available in digital form on Amazon: you can either choose the whole trilogy or the three volumes separately. In the same year I published a short story in the Resto del Carlino, the main newspaper of Emilia Romagna, and then later, in 2009, a short story in the anthology titled PROGENIE (Progeny), a tribute to Lovecraft published by Edizioni Scudo.
At the end of 2009 – as the final act of a course in creative writing at Bologna’s Zanna Bianca (White Fang) School – I published a short story in the literary review Tratti, published by Moby Dick.
In 2010 I had a long short story called Heroic Fantasy published in the first number of Edizioni Scudo’s MAHAYAVAN magazine.
In early 2011 I published an eBook on the Simplicissimus platform: a short science-fiction novel called IDIOTA UNIVERSO (Idiot Universe).
In 2009 I also wrote a pulp-Fantascience novel called ALIENI MANNARI (Alien Werewolves), expressing my personal vision on supernatural beings like vampires, zombies, etc. You can find this too on Amazon in digital format. Along with a thriller written in 2010 and set in the world of tennis champions, called GAME, DEATH, MATCH! These are also available in printed form on LULU. For the moment all these other publications are in Italian but… one step at a time!


In the meantime, I’ve written other stories and novels and I’m still here writing, writing, writing…

Attuale e fantasioso. Ciò che più colpisce durante la lettura, è la fantasia sconfinata dell'autore, che ha ideato un nuovo mondo parallelo alla terra, abitato da funghi intelligenti, fin nei minimi particolari, non lasciando nulla al caso, con una gran capacità descrittiva. Ciò che poi attira, dopo questi particolari, sono i numerosi colpi di scena, per nulla scontati o prevedibili. Lo stile è scorrevole, a tratti un po' acerbo, ma adatto alla fascia di età cui si rivolge, essendo questo lunghissimo racconto (tre libri in uno, è vero, ma tutti insieme ne fanno uno lunghissimo) una specie di fiaba moderna con protagonisti appena adolescenti, almeno a mio parere: trovo che sarebbe un ottimo film per bambini, di una qualità scarsamente reperibile al giorno d'oggi. È notevole anche la caratterizzazione dei personaggi, sia dei piccoli protagonisti che di quelli adulti, con la loro crescita interiore e i loro problemi, mentre è da lodare la denuncia intrinseca di certe tematiche attuali come il bullismo.
