The Window Watcher is a typically great Hannah Linder story.
This short story was deep, engaging and somehow disturbing. (Can disturbing be used as a positive attribute?)
The main character's struggle feels extremely real (it could have been my background music, but all the points go to the author:)), the prose is wonderful, as always, and the ending is just as powerful as the story itself. The ending emotionally broke me, but I loved it all the more.

Boy howdy! What a story! I'm all ripped up about it. Within such a short span of time (and pages), I developed a strong attachment to both Lise and Archie. I was right there with Lise as she processed through the things she saw and drew her conclusions. I wanted to be wrong. I found myself asking whether or not Lise herself truly wanted to be wrong. This story was jarring, painful, gripping, and all twisted up in the selfishness of human hearts and the illusions that often accompany it. I was hooked from the first page. The only reason I did not give it five stars is because I had a few questions at the end about Lise's future and whether or not one of the ending lines was realistic: "For the rest of my life I would watch them." Would she? Maybe that's the point. Maybe it's the shock and she doesn't realize exactly what's happened and the implications of it. We'll never know.
