This is a tale about a young ballerina as she prepares for her big concert. Follow her as she attempts to conquer her fears about performing in front of an audience in this heart warming tale.
This book is not worth purchasing. I ended up with two books by this author before I realised that the 'bonus' stories are particularly meh. The pictures are stiff and ungainly too.
I downloaded this book for free some time ago, but it has easily found its way into my daughter’s favorites list.
The book follows the main character as she attends ballet classes and prepares for her rectal solo. It’s educational in that it highlights common ballet moves, with basic instructions on how she completes them. I found this useful as a way to expose a child to the art of ballet without having to take them to a class.
The digital illustrations are a good accompaniment to the story. They’re bright and colorful, without being too busy. The gradients are subtle, but allow the illustrator to keep the drawings from getting overwhelming with different colors. I especially like the use of shadows throughout. It’s not something I usually notice, but the illustrator uses shadows for prominent aspects of some scenes, such as the audience during the performance. It’s something entirely random that I think really contributes to the feel of each drawing.
I think it’s helpful for young kids on so many levels because it addresses the experiences of being involved in any sort of extracurricular activity, the hard work and dedication that is required to succeed, and the fear of performing that some may experience. I used this with my daughter as she prepared for martial arts competitions and it made the conversation easier and more relatable.
A little girl practices ballet in class. She learns that hard work and practice is what gets a person ahead in life.
Tip Of The Toes is cute with rhythmic sentences that flow nicely. Adding dance lingo that most children from 4 to 7 will have to look up...but learning is a good thing.
Reading this in ebook format I feel there should have been more art. Jumping from one page art and then one page words just took focus away from reading.
Off the tip of my head, Tip Of The Toes, flows nicely except for the breaking up of pages words and art. The words are pretty and will be like by many little girls.
Story revolves around a little girl who is a ballerina. The basic ballet terms are mentioned. Text is written in rhyme. Our young ballerina becomes upset when she finds out there will be a recital. Her dance teacher presents her with a box that contains a bow that she will wear. That gives her the confidence to succeed.
I was somewhat disappointed by the illustrations that did not capture the mood of the dance. While the book is targeted for ages three to five, I feel the text is too difficult to be fully appreciated by that age group.
Where was this book when I was in dance? Better yet, where was this book when my daughter was in dance! This is a cute book for boys or girls who want to learn dance and feel secure for their first show. I know some older dancers who may want a refresher of what the different parts of dance are. Most of us can recognize a plie, but adagio and en pointe? Love the illustrations as well! Great book for any dancer, young or old.
This book is about a little girl who is a ballerina. She finds out that she will be in a recital but gets scared because she doesn't think that she could dance in front of a crowd. Her dance teacher gives her a crown and tells her that it's a magic crown. The little girl wears it and she dances beautifully. This is a book that has some rhyming in it, colorful and beautiful pictures in it. I highly recommend it to all those with aspiring ballerinas.
A ballerina practices daily. She shares her favorite parts of dancing in the book. When she is told about her upcoming recital she gets nervous. Her instructor gives her a “magical” bow that will take away her fear of goofing up and being embarrassed. The book is full of ballet vocabulary as well as the basics to ballet. This book will interest the little dancer in your house.
Tip of the Toes (A Ballerina Story) (Fun Rhyming Children's Books) Colorful children's book about ballerina's and how they practice. Different parts of the body and the way they move them. She feels she is not ready for the recital til the teacher gives her a glittery bow to wear. She then feels more confident. Magic bow... other works by the author are highlighted at the end.
I like when they threw her blushing roses at her when she finished dancing on stage
I loved the book so much it was a very nice book for me to read. My favorite part is when everyone threw her roses because she did a very nice job. In her ballerina show
Emphasizes the right ideas about not being afraid of dancing for an audience. Perfect for a budding ballerina. Refocuses nervous energy into more positive uses.
Nice story by Lily Lexington. A confidence building storyline for young girls. My favorite is still "My Dinosaur is Scared of Vegetables," but a good story none the less.
It is a good book to teach children that every effort is rewarded. Baillerina is a girl with passion for dance but afraid to act in public. Thnaks to her coach she will find the way to get it.
My granddaughter loves this story, my copy is a compilation of many stories all having a learning theme on moral characteristics. cute illustrations too.
