Lexi and her friends head to Ohio after Anna gets a tip about her mom's killer. While they're there, they learn that her mom was involved in something that surprises them all.
Meanwhile, Rhonda struggles with her own inner demons and comes to find that playing with peoples emotions isn't always easy.
Austin and Anna's relationship will soon be put to the test. While Austin wants Anna to become a vampire more than ever before, she's not so sure...
Okay I truely and really love this series and this book included but I have to say that the twist at the end of this book with Gabe, it was just a little too much. I get the Gabe is a main character and we can't just write him off in the series (spoil alert) but to all of a sudden come out with his having an identical twin brother? I just don't know. That is basically where the book cut off at. Prior to that, Rhonda is taken out of the picture (thank goodness) and Austin and Anna hit a rough patch. I'm very curious to see how Anna's story ties in to all this. Come on book 7!!!
I can hear your heartbeat! Oh wait, I thought when you're an immortal, your heart no longer beats? Hurm, never mind. Do you see what I meant by the inconsistency of the details in the stories?
Indeed, this inconsistency is a recurring issue I've noticed in the Morse sisters' works. It's also why I'm eager to finish this series and explore other authors. But don't get me wrong, their books show considerable promise; they just need serious editing and attention to detail.
Speaking of which, I knew Gabe's story wasn't over. After all his efforts to protect Lexi, he couldn't be dismissed so easily. Caroline's arrival was a welcome surprise, though! Now Gabe just needs to survive Kevin's revenge plot.
I think I know why Gabe's mum dislikes Lexi so much now. It all starts to make sense. Nevertheless, let's move on to the final book and read how our couples achieve their happily-ever-afters. The final battle awaits!
Finished all the books in under a week. Good books some were better than the others. Noticed a couple of errors which irritated me but other than that a good read!
I liked these books the sucked you in I enjoyed the twist and turns. they weren't what I expected out of a vampire series, but they are worth a read if you want something different.
What I liked: -Lexi. Immortality seems to be suiting the heroine very well. I’ve seen her grow and mature since she decided to drink the potion. Lexi’s trip to the past was just what she needed to straighten herself out and become the person I enjoy reading about. She was much smarter throughout this book, but I’m starting to dislike her relationship with Dan. I sense very little actual romance between the two of them, and I don’t understand how Lexi could go from loving Gabe to being sure she wanted to spend eternity with Dan in such a short amount of time. When I first started this series, I could barely stand Lexi and her judgmental attitude. It’s weird to think that she’s no my favorite part of the series and the only person I look forward to reading about. -Dan. I love Dan’s character, but I don’t believe his relationship with Lexi. They bonded in the forth book, building a friendship that could have believably turned into love…but it just all moved way too fast for me to find it realistic. I get that they’re young and such dangerous situations can bring two people closer together, but it was still strange. However, I do love Dan’s sense of loyalty to his friends, the fact that he always wants to do the right thing, and most of all, the fact that he doesn’t try to control Lexi’s actions. I see that way too often in young adult books, and it’s refreshing to find a healthy relationship for once.
What I disliked: -Rhonda. Not to mention, Rhonda just seems like such a fake villain with unrealistic thoughts and actions. -Tiny details/inconsistencies. In the previous book, Lexi didn’t have a pulse anymore after drinking the witch’s potion. But in this book she apparently has a heartbeat that Dan and Austin can hear? How is that even possible? Am I missing something? It’s not that big of a deal, but it was just a little something I noticed. Also, the timeline for this series is so confusing to me. I honestly have no idea how long it’s been since Lexi set foot in Briar Creek for the first time, and it seems like it changes with each book. I don’t know how long she and Dan have been dating, or how long Austin and Anna have been dating, or anything. I’m so confused. -Writing style. Still the biggest flaw in this series to me. There is little to no emotion in the writing, and the characters all feel flat, boring, and unrealistic to me. I don’t sense any love or connection between any of the characters throughout this series, which is definitely not good, since love and romance is a very large part of the series. The only people I feel a connection between are Lexi and Ben, and they don’t have much to do with one another. -Anna and Austin. I still do not like the two of them together, even after nearly three whole books. They’re just so overly sweet and dramatic. The only time there is any kind of passion between the two of them is when Austin feeds from Anna, but that translates more as lust than love. But more than disliking their relationship, I think I just really, really dislike Anna as a person.
Overall, this was definitely not my favorite book in the series. It wasn’t bad; it was just a little boring with stale characters. There were quite a few things I disliked about it, but the main character has finally blossomed into a strong character that anyone would enjoy reading about. I would definitely recommend it for hardcore fans of vampires and supernatural creatures—the series is definitely worth the money. 2.5
Lexi becoming immortal was exactly what I wanted. I love the fact that her mom and Justin still visit...its an exciting trip to Ohio to find out about the differences between Anna's mom and the mom that visited Ohio without her daughter (Anna) even knowing. So she (Anna) is torn with becoming a vampire, hurting Austin, etc... I don't want to give away it all, but overall great ending to a really good series....Everyone lives happily ever after.
Vampires, werewolves, ghosts, vampire hunters, twin brothers, crazy step sister and lexi. What is she to do? Fast pass excitment that keeps you wanting more. Death love, found and lost, cant wait for book 7
This book had its ups and downs. You got to one part and thought this is good then a second later you found the book dragging on. I got to the end and was like NO NO NO NO, i thought this was the last one. I don't think i'm reading the next one.
This book was pretty good, but not as good as the last couple. Honestly things with Rhonda got wrapped up a little too quickly and could have been more detailed. I liked the whole side story with Anna searching for her mother's killer, and I was glad to get some focus on characters other than Lexi.
I love this book I couldn't put it down, ( spoiler alert) I can't believe gave and Caroline know each other it is like OMG, I love it that Lexi kill Rhonda finally xxxxx certainly worth £0.77
