Having shared her scars with her first poetry book "Sins Within", the author decided to show those moments that the scars help her appreciate all the more.
These are the poems from the lighter side of her life. These are what lead to the woman she hides inside, scared to let the world see her, for fear of losing her carefully guarded innocence.
This poetry book brings balance to a life that could have been unending darkness. These are the stars in her sky, the strength to her spine, the smile in her eyes. This is where beauty is retained or rebuilt.
Shay Leigh currently lives in Southern New Mexico with her three sons. She started writing poetry and fan fiction as a child. She still writes poetry, as well as children's stories, YA novels, adult Fantasy novels, and anything else that comes to her.
This is the first poetry book I've read in awhile, and I quite enjoyed it. Shay Leigh opens herself up to us, showing us the thoughts, dreams, hopes, and fears that make up her inner person. I particularly liked "Cage" and "Hopes". Ms. Leigh has a real talent for the delicate balance of words and rhythm that leads us into a new understanding of who she truly is. Well done!
