This author has a way of leaving me dumbfounded sometimes and this book was no exception!



This story takes place in the distant future where wealthy families purchase nearly human-like robots to fill the roles needed within their lives: nanny, boyfriend, bodyguard, chef, etc. Maybel is an eighteen year-old girl who's been sheltered for all of her life. Her mom died when she was younger and her father has an important position within the robotics field that constantly keeps him away from home.

Leon, the robot, functions as Maybel's caretaker. He's known her since she was eight years old and his recent "upgrades" have become increasingly noticeable to Maybel.

Favorite scene featuring Leon?
