Bride-to-be Chrystalle Hannon is a twentysomething go-getter in New York City. She loves her job at the legendary investment bank Belden Pratt and is rapidly scaling the corporate ladder in five-inch heels. Sure, she's excited to get married but she dreams of promotions.
Her fiancé, Michael, is a metrosexual with a passion for color palettes. When Chrystalle becomes consumed with pleasing her new boss, Michael takes over the wedding planning and his "vision" takes on a life of its own. As their budget goes up in flames, Chrystalle must grapple with her heart and her head, learning how planning a wedding and planning a life can intersect.
This was such a fun read and perfect for the season. Weddings are such a production, and there are some people who are seriously into them -- and they are not necessarily the women. I love the way this book pokes fun at gender stereotypes while also creating complex and dynamic characters on the page, who are ready to change, and who are in love enough to want to create something beautiful together -- including a good amount of self-reflection. Smart, funny, ambitious, and really propelling! I also loved the way Tarrytown New York became a character in this book, and now I really want to visit!
A beautiful tale of modern love. The pages flow effortlessly through the journey of planning the perfect wedding! The characters and the real big picture issues that come with weddings have real depth that keeps you rooting for them. The perfect beach read. It was fun to revisit that period of life! Also a great gift for the newly engaged to keep perspective.
A triumph! I LOVED this romantic comedy; I couldn't put it down. Such a splendid book with a unique storyline where the groom plans the wedding. A perfect read with a refreshing writing style. The characters are dynamic and the love is real. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
