Deceived

★★★★★★ Don't let the name of the series "deceive" you. This is NOT memoirs of Louisiana and bayou living. This series is riveting, intense and very addictive!
First of all, I was thrilled to receive an ARC of this amazing book. Deceived is the perfect addition to The Green Bayou Novels! Rhonda never ceases to amaze me. She's such an amazing author and never let's her readers down. Each book of the series is a testament to this fact - it just keeps getting better and better! Deceived is so captivating. It keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time! The excitement begins the minute you crack open the book! There's no waiting for the story to build...not with Rhonda! She grabs you by the hand and takes you on this invigorating journey. This book, along with the entire series, is jammed packed with drama, mystery, love, passion, humor, and the right amount of heat. Ahhhh, and then there's the Green Bayou men! Emily is the luckiest women alive! Yes, she has numerous bouts of unwanted grief, but man, does she have the perfect pick of the litter! She has the best of both worlds! Deceived is the best in the series thus far! Read, read, read!!

Where do I start?!?! First of all, I was lucky enough to receive an advanced copy of Deceived! Rhonda has done it again! With each book, her writing gets better and better. Rarely do I find a book (or books) where I get so engrossed in the characters lives, that has definitely happened to me with the people of Green Bayou. I can see so vividly in my head exactly where they are driving, what they are seeing and doing. (Most of the time, I feel like I'm a neighbor that Emily is telling the story too!) I know a lot of that can be attributed to the fact that I am from South Louisiana. But, I think even if I weren't, that I would be able to see everything so clearly. These characters get a slew of emotions from me. They can make me furious in one paragraph and a chapter later, I'm sympathizing with them. She has taken characters that I couldn't stand in the first book and brought them around and now I love them and couldn't imagine the books without them. Each one is important in their own way. Of course the book centers around Emily and is told from her point of view, but each character brings something so special to Green Bayou. Where would be be without the bantering of Emily's parents, Celeste and Don? Or Holden's icy-cold witch of mother, Luciana? Connie's forwardness, but loyal friendship to Emily? Even Roberta and Alphonse have brought their own drama and laughter to the series. I recommend this series to anyone who love small town drama, suspense and romance! The Green Bayou Series will fulfill everything you want in those categories!
All of that being said, this book was very special to me. Because it featured a place very important to me. My hometown of Morgan City, Louisiana. And of course, the Shrimp and Petroleum Festival! Morgan City is an amazing place to grow up and live and I was so excited that Rhonda decided to feature not only my hometown, but the oldest and best (I'm a little biased) festival in the great state of Louisiana!
Now, if only I can wait until book six comes out!!

Another amazing book!!! Suspense, romance, laughter, heartache, friendship, sadness, mystery, twisted!!!! Every aspect of an awesome book!! These 2nd editions are even better than the 1st!! More of everything I love!! My heart felt like it would beat out of my chest for most of the book as I turn each page with anticipation! I can't wait till the next one!! Breathtaking!!! Awesome!!! Amazing!!!!

Wow! It can't end that way!!! I should've never read this series till ALL the books were out! The suspense will kill me! Rhonda you are killing me! Lol Love the book! Can't think much more can happen to poor Emily, so I'm hoping there will be closure in book 6 & a happily ever after!

Rhonda how could you leave me hanging like that? I won't say too much because I don't want to spoil it for future readers, but I read this in a few short hours! I could not put it down!!! The mystery, the romance, the humor was breathless, the devastation Emily felt ... I felt it too! Rhonda has a way of pulling the reader into the story and leaving them feel that they were actually part of her imagination! Thank you again for another amazing read!!!

Loved the book! Rhonda is an awesome author! The series is phenomenal! It draws you in from the very beginning and keeps you enthralled the whole way through! Deceived made me laugh, cry and get extremely mad! I love when i get so carried away with the characters that i can actually see the action in my head! Already looking forward to the next one....it's gonna be a long year!

What can I say about this book! It'a amazing, It will draw you in & make you feel as if your the main character Emily. You will laugh out loud, cry & maybe scream at times. It has romance, heartbreak, suspense, & laughter. I tried to take my time to soak it all in but it was a big fail. Once I read the first page it had already taken me in. You will not be disappointed. I know I wasn't!

This Rhonda Dennis is my fav! She never disappoints in any of her books. I am addicted to her series. These books just grab ahold of you & take you on the best adventures threw The Green Bayou roller coaster ride. She NEVER disappoints!! Just can't say enough about this book. It's simply amazing!! <3

ok by this point im not fan of emily, yes i like the story, the other characters, but with emily i have a problem and its simple she can trust everyone but holden no, with the events in this book from the start he told her certain things that they had to pay attention but she will not listen and does the opposite. im hoping that everything ends well and that finally she trusts holden

Oh, hell no! Laughed so had I had a hard time reading, then the butch makes her move! Can't get to the next book fast enough to see the revenge take place!
