Mitchell Family #5

Wanting More

Rate this book
Book five in the Mitchell series is finally Conner's story. He may not have the last name Mitchell, but he is a big part of the family.

When Conner moved to NC to help out the family with a new business venture, he never saw himself becoming interested in his sister's boss, Amy. Their first meeting was not ideal and both were left with little interest in even becoming friends.

After Conner learns about Amy's secret life by accident, he becomes the only person to help her through it. Every time they get near each other their love/hate relationship fuels for a heated encounter.

I just totally love the Mitchell guys - they are HAWT!!! This is the 5th in the series and by for the best in my opinion, but that's because i've always had a soft spot for Conner. This book is slightly different that the rest as Colt and Ty aren't really in the book - book Conner and Amy are great together and you see another side of Conner that as only been hinted at in the other books. This is a totally brilliant book by an excellent author. I am so looking forward for their continuing story in book 6 which is out in March. The Mitchell boys are a must read and to get full benefit I would start with book one, which I think is only 99c. Thank you Jennifer Foor for making Conner totally gorgeous and for making me stay up till all hours to finish the awesome book.

I'm not sure about this book, did not like the fact that their was abuse from husband, then she was seeing another man, who she liked, then he sleep with someone else just to help family? Then they end up together. Not really sure what to think.

Pov: male & female

Main characters: Connor & Amy

Minor characters: Rick (her husband), Miranda (his sister), Heather (Ty's ex)

My thoughts:

The character introductions are presented like an interview. The characters just start their inner monologues and retell their life story. It didn't feel natural and it didn't make me care about their histories. Most of the info was shown in previous books so I was familiar with it. But the monologues didn't share any new info, even though this is the first time it's coming from the person it actually happened to.

There were a lot of plot points that didn't make sense to me, but it seems like it'll happen in the next book. But, they weren't handled well at all in this one. There was really no conclusion. It seemed like the author wrote a giant story and chopped it in half. So the big finish hasn't happened yet.

The writing has not matured since book 1, but I feel like I'm too invested to stop now.

Synopsis:

Connor got into prescription pills in Kentucky while working for his cousin. His sister moved away and got married (book 2) and he was sent to live with her.

He was angry at first and started sleeping around. He realized he had a problem and quit. He was going through withdrawals and felt terrible when he met his sisters boss Amy.

Amy met a boy when she was young and ran off with him. Her parents disowned her. The guy cheated on her and she went back home. Her parents had split and remarried and she lived with her dad.

She met Rick and her dad didn't approve. Her stepmom died and her dad didn't have time for her. She moved in with Rick and they got married. Her dad disowned her again.

She never heard from her family again and Rick started becoming violent. He had a daughter, Shelby, and she took care of her.

Rick bought her a salon and repeatedly told her if she tried to leave him he'd destroy her business, because he owned it.

One night after he beat her she went to Mirandas house for help and met Connor.

She could tell something was wrong and offered to stay up with him, because Miranda was pregnant and exhausted. He felt terrible and was cocky and rude, then flirty. She didn't like him.

One night he went to a bar and saw her sitting in her car parked on the street. He went to her and saw she had been beaten. He told her to go to the police but she wouldn't. He took her to a motel and stayed the night so she would feel safe.

They were attracted to each other but didn't want to start anything since she was married. The attraction was too strong and they kissed.

They started to fall for each other and she decided to leave Rick after she saved enough money to start over. He agreed to be her support system and wait for her.

Time passed and Rick would beat her again and Connor would run to her to help her. They fell in love.

He worried she wouldn't ever leave Rick. She worried he didn't want a serious relationship.

One night they were together and he tells her he loves her. Before she can say anything he finds out Miranda was in a car accident. He rushed to her and when Amy went home Rick accused her of cheating and beat her and smashed her phone.

Days pass and Miranda pulls through. Conor doesn't hear from Amy and worries she doesn't feel for him what he feels for her.

When everyone gets back home he confronts her. She explains what happened and that she loves him too. He buys her a new phone.

Miranda and Ty's marriage is still strained so Connor decides to seduce Heather to find out the truth. He explains his plan to Amy and she hates it. He asks her to introduce him to Heather.

Amy arranges a double date and they both hate it. He keeps seeing Heather and Amy gets jealous. He tells Amy it isn't real. And that she goes home to Rick every night which hurts him.

All of a sudden Rick starts being nice to her and begging for a chance to make things right. She plays along but knows she's going to leave him.

Connor sleeps with Heather and finds out the truth. That she drugged Ty. He also finds out she's having an affair with Rick.

Ricks daughter had moved out with her boyfriend but came home for a visit. She warned Amy to get away from Rick. That he's hiding stuff from her. She tells Amy to check his truck.

One night at home Amy gets sick and Rick takes her to the hospital. She finds out she's 4 months pregnant. She worries how Connor will take the news.

She has Rick stop to get her prescriptions and searches his truck. She finds letters from her dad begging her to talk to him and talking about money.

She tells Connor and they track down her dad. They go to see him and find out he's been trying to contact her since the day she left. That he's the one who bought her the salon.

Connor explains how Rick is abusive and asks if it'd be ok for Amy to stay with them for a few days after she leaves Rick, just until he can find a permanent home for them. Her dad says of course.

She leaves Rick and stays with her dad. She gets a call from Rick and he threatens Connor and his family. She runs outside to drive to Connor and warn him but Rick is there. He beats her up and she tries to protect the baby. He tells her he wants the money but she has no clue what he's talking about.

She gets away and gets to Connor. He takes her home and Rick shows up in the morning. Ty won't let Connor leave his room while Amy talks to Rick.

She tells Rick she won't leave with him and he agrees to come back for her when he's sober. (He's worried about appearances.). He doesn't come back.

She stays the night and tells Connor she's pregnant. He's ecstatic.

The next morning is Christmas and she worries how his family will think of her, since she's married and technically had an affair. Everyone is nice to her.

The next morning he officially tells his family she's his girlfriend and they're having a baby. Everyone is thrilled for them.

Connor gets a call from Heather saying she needs to talk to Amy. That she knows something important about Rick.

Are you a Conner fan?? I was not and actually thought he was a LOSER until I read Wanting More. He is now starting to grow on me. I guess every guy(with a few exceptions) has a sweet side and it is about damn time Conner showed his!!

Most of Jenn’s books include the whole Mitchell crew but this one is different and mostly only focuses on Conner and Amy with a few references to Ty and Miranda. I MISSED Colt in this one but I will get over it…*crying* But, anyways, back to Conner. He finally finds that one woman who puts him in a good place and makes him want to be more but guess what?!? Yep, there is drama attached to this woman and I am talking serious, heartbreaking drama!! Plus, Conner has some drama going on himself with trying to protect his sister, Miranda.

I understand why both of them made the choices that they did but that doesn’t mean that I approve and Conner Healy would have had to do a lot of begging if I was Amy….jerk!!!! I don’t know that I would have been able to be as understanding as she was but who am I kidding, Conner was pretty damn understanding when it came to her decisions too. I guess that is why the two were meant for each other.

I know none of this jibber jabber makes any sense but it doesn’t need too. I don’t want to tell all the good juicy details about the story, I just need you to understand how emotional this story will make you and how awesome it is! I know I say this in every review I write for one of Jenn’s books but her writing gets better each time and I LOVE reading them. The Mitchell Family series is one of my favorites and I can’t get enough of the great mix of humor, angst, steamy sex scenes, family devotion and sweetness that comes with every story she writes.

Connor Healy!! I would give you 10 stars if I could!!

Ofcourse this is my favorite book of the Mitchell Family Series. I have been waiting for Connor since Letting Go. He is hot, cocky and protective of his family. I just knew that when the right girl came along that he had feelings for it would get hotter an intense.

Because Connor has been in the background of the past 4 books, Wanting More starts when Connor first moves to NC. Up to this point we have had to guess about what Connor has been doing with his free time. We now we get to see what Connor has really been up to and to say he has been um....busy.... would be an understatement!!

To pick a favorite book in the Mitchell Series is like trying to pick your favorite child.... I loved them all for different reasons. But now I can defintely say Wanting More when asked.

I don't have a favorite Mitchell. I have a favorite Healy!! Cant wait for more of Connor and Amy in book 6!

I can't say anything as I don't want to spoil it for anyone but this book is jam packed and has twists and turns that keep you wanting to more. Connor is definitely a Mitchell, sweet, romantic and dam sexy. I just read this in one sitting. Can't wait for book 6

First off OOOOMMMGGG I love this cover! That guys body is to die for! Okay, so now my review...

Another great read from one of my favorite authors! I loved Conner and Amy's story. She def left us with a CLIFFHANGER!!! I have always liked Amy in the other stories and I am glad that she is Conner's love interest. He was a prick turned hottie. =) Although, Amy drove me nuts at parts of this--I still loved her. I understood at first why she wouldn't leave her abusive husband, but towards the middle--I wanted to hit her myself. I can understand living in a relationship like hers and how you feel--fear, but she had someone, actually another whole family that would have been there for her. I respect that she wanted to be independent, but at some point--it becomes stupidity!

Anyways.. I really loved this story!! I wouldn't expect anything less from Mrs. Foor--she is amazing.

I cannot wait for book #6! I cannot get enough of The Mitchell/Healy Family Series!! Jennifer def leaves me Wanting More! =)

I received this as an ARC.....I will post my review once it is released.

Let me just say I absolutely LOVED this book.... Conner was amazing!!!!!!

Ok now that this book has been released I can write my review. I am going to keep this short because I don't want to give anything away about this story. I have to say this book was AMAZING Jenn truly outdid herself with this book. I have loved this whole series but I have to say this one is my favorite so far. Conner was completely swoon worthy. He could be a total douche at times but boy did he melt my panties ;) I love his connection with Amy. She didn't take any of his crap. So without giving anything away all I want to say is I think this book is a MUST READ!!!!!!

This book was a long time coming. You have had glimpses of Conner and Amy in the last 4 books but never the full story. Well she really has out done herself in this story. Amy and Conner will blow you away with their story. They are not perfect by any stretch and neither is how they run their relationship but you cannot help but root for them. Their love is as sweet as it is hot and don't be surprised if your Kindle melts in a few sections :) I was blown away to learn that the man I thought Conner was for so long was so far from the truth and I couldn't be happier.

The wonderful author has decided to grace us with a book 6....thank god...I cannot get enough of Conner and Amy.

2.5 Stars!

I love this series but this installment was not IMO on the same level as the others. I just didn't feel the magic here. While I do love Connor, I think his story could have been much better. Maybe even with a different heroine. I had major issues with Amy. She gave me such a headache. And then that ending disappointed me.

Another negative for me was Miranda. She kept harping on him but erm didn't she get with Mr.Playboy himself and I could have sworn that she wasn't little miss innocent.

I really hated writing this negative review but hopefully things change for me in the next book.

I LOVE THE MITCHELL MEN!!!! I loved this story about Conner and Amy. Although Amy was annoying at times, I can understand she was terrified of her abusive husband. Based on the horrific crimes that I have heard committed by abusive spouses, I totally connected with Amy's paranoia. And as true to all the Mitchell men, when they find true love, they become most women's fantasy bad boy hero. This book ended with a mild cliff-hanger, but the next book is live and I am starting on it immediately.

You're a book writing machine! I love that I don't have to wait a year in between your books, and it's not like they're forced either, you write awesome quality stories! Ok so Conner is officially added to my book boyfriend list, actually all your male characters tend to end up on that list lol. Connor & Amy had some steamy moments together (Yumm). Cant wait to find out what that conversation is going to be like between Amy & Heather!

4.5/5 Stars for me. Love this series.

Seriously don't condone cheating but when he first started verbally abusing her that marriage should have been over. Nowhere, no how is that EVER forgivable. She should have left his a$$ longtime ago.

Heroine is married to an abuser.
Hero is an addict trying to detox.
They have an affair.
This is cheating, even if I can understand she was kind of afraid of her husband.
But this is not the reason for one star.
The hero fake date the woman who he thinks drugged his brother in law, and has sex with her to prove she trapped the man. He does it with the heroines blessing. He has to take pills because he can’t get hard with her so he has to drug himself. Everyone celebrate him as a hero because he sacrificed himself.
Yuck double yuck.

So we finally get a peek into the world of Conner. Throughout the first part of the series Conner plays the role of the troubled cousin to Colt and brother to Miranda.

Now Conner gets to tell his story of how he dealt with the pain of pills and drinking, how he felt the first time he saw Amy, and how he was able to fall in love for the first time,

We all know Amy as Miranda's boss and friend at the hair salon. Wanting More gives us a deeper look into her marriage with Rick, her feelings towards Conner, and a sneak peek into what a hopeful future may look like.

Some of his story was repetition from the last book and that is why I ave I only 4 stars. I like to read recaps, but at times it was too much. But I still love the series and Jenn Foor!

First, I would like to say that this is by far my favorite series I have ever read. I am completely invested in these characters and their lives. I escape into the Mitchell Family world whenever I can and it never disappoints me. Wanting More is no exception to this, just as the title says it left me wanting more.

I am so glad that Jenn Foor took us back in time and showed us some of what was happening with Conner and Amy, had she not done this we would have missed a lot of the story. There were many things going on in Conner's life that we as the reader did not know about and I think this was information that we needed to know. I am glad Jenn Foor did not rush the story just for the sake of getting it finished and decided that the series deserved another book in order for it to be complete.

I felt this story was very exciting right from the beginning. Conner turned out to be a strong male character who showed love and compassion to a woman who had been through way too much. She was in a lot of pain, and had learned not to trust any male. This is something you would not except from someone as cocky as Conner is and he will surprise you throughout the book. I am so glad that Jenn gave us our HEA even though we know that the story is not finished, (it stopped at a good place) and that these characters have a lot to get through still. I have a feeling that they will be triumphant in the end. I cannot wait for book 6 to come out so we can learn how their story ends.

This is the fifth book in the Mitchell Family series and each book that I read I tell myself, Ok I like Ty the best. Then I tell myself, "Ok, I think I like Colt the best". Now, as I have finished Conner and Amy's book, I'm telling myself "Hmmm, Damn, Conner is Hot! Maybe Conner is the best one".... I think you get the picture. All three Mitchell men are H.O.T., and all three are on my book boyfriend wish list.

Conner is the diamond in the ruff. He is a bad boy, trying to kick his drug/alcohol addiction. Through all four books, the one thing that constantly stood out about Conner is his devotion and love for his sister, Miranda. He is a bad boy, cocky to the point of being obnoxious, but through it all, it is plain to see that he knows how to love. If a girl is lucky enough to reach his heart, he will love you will all that he is.

Amy was married to Rick. A man that mentally and physically abused her. She burned all of her bridges when she was young, and didn't have the love of a family for any support, so she stayed in a loveless, abusive marriage. This was until she found an unexpected friend in Connor.

This is a wonderful book. I loved the slow buildup in Connor and Amy's attraction to each other. When they finally couldn't deny the attraction to each other, their chemistry was sexy and I really enjoyed reading how their story unfolded.

I will be anxiously awaiting March and the release of their second book (6th Mitchell Family book).
