Twin Passions

Rate this book
Book three in the Wizard Twins series. Astra Al'madere betrayed all. Those she loved. Those she swore to protect. And all for the Dark Wizards whose passion and heat she can't live without. A Sorceress can sense her Twins, the men destined to join her in her power to strengthen the planet of Sentmar, and Astra has sensed for a while-the Delmari are hers. She can't turn her back on them, deliver them to justice, even though they'd turned from her many years ago. A pain that still rips her heart in two. Torran and Rhydan knew the road to claiming their Consortress would not be an easy one. After all, a painful lie had driven her away, causing her to believe they didn't burn for her. Weren't consumed by her. But when she chooses to save them rather than honor her duty, the Wizards have the chance to show Astra she's always been the only one they desire.

Huge, huge disappointment .I found this book totally erratic and and was completely confused while reading this latest entry into LL 's WIZARD TWINS series. If this was the first time reading this author ,I would not go near her books again. That being said,I have enjoyed some of her other series quite a bit, namely THE NAUTI BOOKS,The BREED series,The BLACK OPS series, and the "PLEASURE" SERIES,I even liked some of the AUGUST BROS books.

A lot of world-building that doesn't match the two previous books of the series, but not much about the main threesome and even less about the third sister. I don't think I'll read the next one (if it's published one day, because this one was published 7 years after the second book)

Sometimes it was a little hard to follow (mostly only when it came to the names of stations and ranks)... other than that a fairly solid book.

Astra Al’madere betrayed all. All she loved. All she swore to protect. And all for the Dark Wizards whose passion and heat she could not turn away from. A Sorceress can sense her Twins, the men destined to join her in her power to strengthen the planet of Sentmar, and there was one thing she’d sensed for a while—the Delmari were hers. She could not turn her back on them, deliver them to justice, even though they had turned from her many years ago. A pain that still ripped her heart in two.
Torran and Rhydan knew the road to claiming their Consortress would not be an easy one. After all, a painful lie had driven her away, causing her to believe they did not burn for her. Were not consumed by her. But when she chooses to save them rather than to honor her duty, these Wizards know they now have the chance to show her she has always been the only one whom they desire.

Heather's Notes
I spent part of this book confused. The names start to merge together with the different twins. Also it has been a while since I read book 2. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't awesome either. Still it was enjoyable.

Look, the rules to writing a fantasy series are fairly simple.

Rule Number 1: DECIDE ON YOUR TERMINOLOGY BEFORE STARTING PLEASE AND THANK YOU.
You might not think that this is the most important rule. Try to imagine how incredibly annoying it would have been if Daenerys had been a Khaleesi in one book, and a Khaleesitress in another book? Just try it.

Actually that kind of thing is at the root of all my problems with this instalment of this series. It's as though she had a number of clever ideas between Book 2 and Book 3 and just bunged them all in there, regardless of whether or not it actually fits with the mythology she has created.

I'm not going to finish this story, because the haphazardness is killing me.

I am sorry Lora Leigh but this book was so confusing, I could not keep all the characters straight in my mind, TMI, TMI. Keepers of this, Guardians of that, the history told at the beginning, and all the different names of all the characters. I have loved everything I have read of yours but this one just did not do it for me.

If you haven't read the first books or it's been awhile, some of the terminology may trip you up as you try to follow the relationships. Definitely recommend re-reading first books before this to help. While the sex is hot, I’m glad it didn't overwhelm the story.

Probably shouldn't go near this unless you've read the first part of the series. Just to give you a clue, the first 10% of my ebook consisted of a glossary of this world's terms and a prologue in "mythology" format (which means it reads like an old text) just to understand what the heck is going on. And I was still confused.

To sum up, sorceresses are now in the habit of joining with wizard twins whom their magic naturally aligns with, instead of aligning for power's sake alone. Astra knows that Torran and Rhydan are HER wizard twins, but she overhears them talking about courting another sorceress for the sake of power and it devastates her. Then, they're accused of dark magic and Astra ends up aiding and abetting them, instead of turning them in. They have reasons for their behavior, but they can't tell her until she accepts them and joins with them. She can't join with them until they trust her and tell her their reasons. And this is the conflict.

Mostly, beyond the confusion, I found this strange juxtaposition of old world talk and formal speaking alongside modern-day smut talk. It was jarring. Also, while Astra is fairly well developed and somewhat easy to connect to, Rhyder and Torran were this amalgam of male with absolutely no depth or development. I'd hardly call them a character (even combined). The world-building is very extensive and, as I said, somewhat confusing if you've never read about it before. I'm pretty sure I spent so much of my time trying to understand all of that, that the sex scenes didn't do much for me. Maybe I'd consider going back to read the first story and then try this one again.

When I first realized that this wasn't Serena's story I was very disappointed. However after reading this story I see the why of not publishing Serena's story just yet. I can see at least 12 more books in this series probably more depending on how the story arc goes. This is the story of one of the Sorceress Brigade. Astra Al'madere has lived within the Castle of the Sellane since she turned sixteen. She has been on her own since she was five years old. Her mother has been determined to break her link to the land of the Mystic Forest. Astra is a courageous and loving. She wants so much for someone to love her. When she realizes that the Delmari Twins are her consorts she thinks that she will finally find the love she has longed for. While that does happen there are problems that must be solved. There are plots within plots and it will make your head spin.

I think I fell in love with Torran and Rhydan Delmari. Anyone that would drain themselves to save a pair of helpless cubs deserve my admiration. These men are so compassionate and caring they make me want to love them as well. They have watched over Astra since she was a babe. They have waited to claim her so she would be ready for them. It is so sweet.

I hope that we get another one of these stories soon. I love this series and we have waited so long for this story. There is something very magical about the whole world and story. It reaches out and drags you in making you want to all that is happening and if there will be happy ending for these wonderful people.

Just when I thought I was going to learn the fates of Princess Serena and Covenan Queen Amoria, new characters are introduced; Astra Al'madere, Heir to the Keeper of the Mystic Forest and a member of the Sorceresses who protect Covenan, her mother, Alisante, as well as others who practice dark magic against the Sorceresses of Covenen.

Since the Wizard Twins of Delmari are Astra's true consorts, the question of their guilt regarding the abduction of Amoria and Serena, and her knowledge that she loves them, pulls Astra in opposing directions. Where should her loyalty lay? Towards them or her cousin and best friend, Princess Marina, Guardian Keeper of the Land of the Covenani. The actions of the Delmari Twins, regarding the Griffons further confuses her, as does that of the dragon Garron and the Veressi's, towards the Delmari's.

Now knowing that Lora must be writing another book, that will hopefully resolve the future of Serena and the Veressi Wizard Twins, the tension of waiting for the next book, is killing me!

The glossary at the beginning of the book is a great help! I wish it had been included in the first two novels, 'Ménage a Magick' and 'When Wizcards Rule.'

Given to me from the publisher for an honest review
Astra betrays all she has known and loved to save the lives of the Demari twins aka the Dark Wizards, her destined mates. A lie told has Astra believing that the twins don’t want her as their Consortress. The twins know they have a lot to overcome in winning Astra’s love.
I’m not sure where to begin, but here goes..
I am a HUGE Lora Leigh fan. I have read almost all of her books. My favs are the Nauti Boys, Bound Hearts, Men of August, Breeds, Elite Ops and the Tempting Seals. I have not read the first two books in this series so that maybe part of the problem for me. Usually with Lora’s books you don’t need to read them in order to know what is going on. I feel I would have enjoyed this book more if I had read them. I like the story line and everything, it was just hard to follow along. I had to stop and think about what her ‘words’ meant. There is a glossary of terms in the beginning of the book, and the first few chapters fill you in with the backstory.
If you have read the first two books in this series I’m sure you will enjoy it.

Bumped up from two to three stars because I *LOVED the gryphons* and world building interesting (intrigues on so many levels).
A number of years ago I read the first two books in the Wizard Twins books and liked them. Book Two ended with a cliff hanger and so when I saw the third in series come out eight years later was excited and thought we'd find out what happens with the kidnapped Princess Serena. Alas we did not get her story. Instead we were treated to a drawn out info dump with any action only in the last 10% of the book.
Character's feelings and information was unnecessarily repeated multiple times.
There is a really interesting story ark developing within the series that I'm guessing the author had not thought of when first two books were written and so has burdened one short book with world and background story creation.
Even though this book was a bit of a torture to get through I'll still read the next in the series as I do want to know what happens next. Will the princess gain the courage to relearn her unique uber-powers in time to save her land from the plague of dark magic sweeping it. Will the good guys be powerful enough to stop a dark god?

Twin Passions by Lora Leigh

I’ve wanted to finish this series for a long while and have been anticipating reading this book however my anticipation was for nothing. It could be because I read the other two books in the series long ago but I think not, the story was scattered and really difficult to get into. The back story/details in the beginning were confusing and didn’t refresh my memory about the previous books and the world of wizards. Ms Leigh is a talented author and I’ve read most of her stories and will continue to do so but not this series if it is continues.

I was a bit confused while reading this book. I couldn't keep track of all the people. There were the twins which had two general names, wizard twins or consorts, then the same twins had a formal name (for example, Smith twins), the those same twins had their first names (for example, Bob and Joe), then those same twins had their 'magic' names (for example, Keepers of the Kingdom) and THEN you multiply those two twins by another set of twins, a whole bunch of consortees and sorcerers/sorceresses who had multiple names also. Whew....overload.

Nice set

Interesting series about wizards (twins!) and sorceresses. After a thousand years apart, if they are to save their world, they must remerge their powers. It does not go easily. The three book need to be read in order, but the third book leaves a cliffhanger. There must be another one or two books to this series, but I can't find them. They are "revised and reissued", so I hope something is coming. Even her website doesn't give a clue. I wish the author well as I love her Breeds series too.

This one definitely made me cry. One thing I can say though is while I was excited for Astra's story I find myself almost bored with the idea of reading Serena's tale. I know that it will help to conclude the series but Serena and the Veressi twins are so lacking in emotion beyond duty that it's difficult to care.

I wasn't feelin' this long awaited book in the Wizard Twins series. Too much of it was world building and Wizard/Sorceress history that I wasn't interested in. I would've liked more of it focused on the relationship between Astra and her Wizard Twins.

Got a copy of this via my library & thought I'd "try it out" before I went & purchased the whole series. Considering there was a 5 page basic introduction on top of an 8 page index of terms... it almost seemed like too much "work".

This book was confusing and poorly written. I read the 2nd in the wizard series years ago and it was pretty bad, but this one was much worse. Thank goodness I borrowed it from my library instead of wasting money buying it!

Where's the rest of the book??? It just stops at page 181!!! WHATS THAT ABOUT!!!!!!!!!

The story stops dead at page 181, in the middle of the story. How singularly disappointing.... I only gave it a star at all so I could write this review. I was wondering why it had no rating.
