Dhampyr transitions should come with warning labels. Just ask, Tasi.

When Tasi read the chant that started her final transition to immortality, she wasn’t prepared for how such a simple task would change her life. How a few words could create such chaos.

Now in a race against time, Tasi must follow the quests given to her by an unknown magical entity. All while being tormented mentally and physically. Hoping she will fail. A failure that results in death.

Will the journey be too much for Tasi to withstand? Is she mentally strong enough to earn her immortality? What if her failures diminish any hope for Emily’s future? And the boy she’s soul bound to. What happens to him?

Follow Tasi, as she sets out on her path that is going to test her strength, her will, her patience, and her tolerance for pain.

Book 3 in the Dhampyr Series continues the story of Tasi, a Dhampyr who’s on borrowed time to transition to an immortal. Tormented sees a shift in focus from the previous books as Hunted and Stolen focused more on Tasi’s protection of her little sister Emily whereas Tormented explores Tasi’s struggles as she must face arduous trials and tests to prove herself worthy of immortality.

I’ve enjoyed reading this YA series, but still think that book two Stolen was my favourite because of the suspense throughout. This is the longest of the three books also and I think that it did affect the pacing of the story as it was a lot slower at times. Plenty of new characters to get your teeth into (pun intended) and Tasi and her companions have to travel across the world before she runs out of time on her quest (bringing the story back to Romania, the home of vampires was a touch of genius by the author and only fitting really!)

If you like morally gray characters, the chosen family and fated mates tropes along with badass female main characters, go check out the Dhampyr series. Tormented is out now. Thanks to the author for the arc - 3.5⭐️

Book three of the Dhampyr series finds Tasi on a journey of survival that will test her strength and internal fortitude. This book has a different feel than book one and two - those had Tasi fighting to protect her sister, Emily. In Tormented, Tasi has to complete the last transformation by going on different journeys, completing various tasks, and learning valuable lessons all while being under the scrutiny of the iele and their vicious Queen. With the help of her friends, Tasi travels to different countries trying to make sense of her visions. What she doesn’t know is that the queen has ulterior motives in regards to these tasks. I like seeing this be about Tasi and her journey to immorality. What will happen if Tasi gets to immortality? What are the iele really planning? What’s the price for living with the family she loves forever? Because we all know that there’s always a price to pay.

This series just keeps upping the stakes as it continuously evolves its lush world building, marvelous characters, and masterful storytelling! Tempted has exceeded my expectations in every way. It led me on an incredible journey that stretched me to the breaking point while being able to keep a desperate hope and breathtaking love alive. I was left in awe of just how truly amazing and wonderfully revolutionary this series is becoming the longer it lasts. It has taken my breath away with its undying passion, its fervently loyalty, and its unwavering hope.

Tasi is finally working through the last of her transitions to become an immortal. Not knowing what she would have to deal with, she is moving forward with stubborn determination and blind hope. Nothing will stop her from achieving her goal, so she loves ever forward into the unknown in the hopes it will change her life forever. It is what she doesn't know that may prove to her undoing, but no matter what she has wonderful and genuine friends who surround her with love and encouragement. The question is if they are enough to not only stick by her side but to help her no matter the cost?

There is nothing known about this transition for someone like Tasi, but I think she handles it beautifully. If not for her sister, her best friend, and her boyfriend she wouldn't have even made it this far. She knows just how blessed and lucky she is. Nothing she can say or do would ever prove to those she loves just how much they mean to her. It's her selfless way of life that puts her apart from others like her and shines a bright light to those would take advantage. She is a true marvel who claims such deep and abiding loyalty and love from those who know her best.

V. M. Nelson has blown my mind and shredded my heart with this lastest masterpiece in her phenomenal series. She has shown the depth and magnitude of her creativity and her heart for her readers to soak up and savor. Her series just keeps getting better and better, and I truly can't wait until the next book comes out!! What a wonderful and sweet inspirationg ride!!!!

I have been a fan of the series thus far, but I am a bit on the fence with book three.
This series has held a nostalgia feel to me, so I am a bit disappointed that I didn't feel that with this one. Stolen (book two) had so much suspense and action that I was hoping for some of that to translate to this story. With this being the thickest book so far, I feel as though it flattened out the plot and slowed down the pacing.
The story was still good overall, I just had a really hard time connecting with this one.

This is book 3 in The Dhampyr’s series. This book had me all over the place emotionally. We follow Tasi as she has to basically jump through hoops for a not so nice fairy queen in order to earn her immortality. This book has a different feel to it than the previous 2 books, it’s a bit darker. I cannot believe the ending of this book, it tore me up and now I have to wait to see what happens in book 4. Just be warned, this cliffhanger… wow.

The third book in the dhampyr series is not as strong as the first two, but still mostly an enjoyable read. Tasi is set on a quest to become immortal, and she’s faced with four different tasks that take her to Romania, Poland, Ireland and Norway. Folklore and legends play a big part in this book.
