Special Agent Jo Pullinger needs a well-deserved break. She agrees to drive a fellow agent, Edward Swann, to his new job in Boise, Idaho. She figures the long drive will give her time to clear mind and get some fresh air.
Halfway through their trip, a massive snowstorm forces Jo and her fellow agents into the town of Lapse, Oregon. The town seems abandoned, but they find a hotel and take up lodgings. They decide to wait out the storm and continue their journey the next day.
When morning hits, Jo finds Swann is not in his room. Soon, their search reveals that Swann and a waitress from the local diner were ambushed in their car. Someone had forcibly taken them both. But why?
As Jo scours for her colleague, she has no idea a sinister group has deadly plans for Swann—one involving a symbolic sacrifice.
THOMAS FINCHAM holds a graduate degree in Economics. His travels throughout the world have given him an appreciation for other cultures and beliefs. He has lived in Africa, Asia, and North America. An avid reader of mysteries and thrillers, he decided to give writing a try. Several novels later, he can honestly say he has found his calling. He is married with two kids, and he lives in a hundred-year-old house. He is the author of LEE CALLAWAY series, the HYDER ALI series, the MARTIN RHODES series, and the ECHO ROSE series.
McKinley gets his field experience, Swann finds himself in trouble again, Jo and Ford are partnered up again, but all this occurs on the road. A weather upset leads to a small town pit stop where there are missing people, murders, kidnapping and a cult! The sheriff and his wife are a hoot and the action and different POVs entertaining. The mastermind was not a huge surprise, but the reveal was still perfectly timed and enjoyable. This series is always colorful and engaging with character dialogue and unique cases!
Fincham writes like a trained FBI agent. The scenarios are so realistic it's hard to put the Kindle down. Agent Jo Pullinger takes huge risks to bring a suspect to face justice. She and her team work in sync to apprehend criminals. This novel can be a stand alone book. I recommend starting with the first novel to enjoy the series as a whole. Happy reading.
Being thrust into another do or die episode of life with Agent Jo becomes almost a lost cause when a small town produces more criminals than normal. All must be dealt with , including A Blizzard, multiple deaths, one tragic, the rest earned. PI Bryan is among the backup sent to help Jo , doing what he does best, coordinating with Jo to put to rest the crazies living there. Thanks TF
Good intentions don't always make a plan to work out properly. Things mushroom out of our control. Jo works against a flawed theory which has turned deadly. Great read. My favorite so far in this series. Very enjoyable and very well planned out. Read and enjoy.
This is another page turn from Mr. Fincham. I could not put this book down. Agent Jo Pullinger and the other characters and environment they are in will keep your interest. Hope there is a Book 6.
A great book with an excellent storyline that’ll keep you guessing who’s the bad guys and what’s going to happen next as it progresses through twists and turns, adventure and mayhem. A brilliant read and I can’t wait for the next book!
Jo, Ford, McKinley, and Swan are facing a snowstorm and misguided cult members. Is the retired FBI agent part of the problem? Is the small town sheriff and his deputy up to the challenge?
A KILLER’S STORM is a great read but not quite as good as the earlier books. For some readers it might be the best yet but wasn’t for me. There is nothing wrong with the story it is just not my favorite.
Jo, McKinley and Swann, three FBI agents were sent to Boise Idaho to assist du.e to staff shortages. On the way a snowstorm forced them to stay in Lapse, Oregon. After spending the night they found one of the agents was missing. Chases and murders lead to an unusual end.
This book was about what was expected from this series. The characters add to the plot and their relationships make the story more interesting. the plot moved along at a pretty good clip and the ending a bit of a surprise.
Interesting! I liked the scenery and the locals. Very descriptive. I feel as if I've seen them as I read about them. Keep writing these trip gifs for me and I'll continue to explore this country.
This book needs more editing. The plot was so convoluted that it was unbelievable. The grammar was so bad that it distracted me from being able to follow the plot at times.
I am up to book six now and am not disappointed. A killer's storm kept you on your toes and hard to know what was going to happen next. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes these kind of FBI stories.
Again another hit I couldn’t stop reading until I got to the end another surprise but I did thoroughly enjoy this yet again I have to read the next one now
Another crazy case. This one unraveled at the conclusion with an unbelievable end to the mystery. The relationship between Jo and Ford is still the highlight, although McKinley and Swann are solid.
