Ο θρύλος του φρικαλέου βασανιστή δύσκολα μπορεί να σβήσει από τις μνήμες των ανθρώπων της Λα Κολόνια. Η Σούζαν Λίνγκ, η “τοπ” ρεπόρτερ μιας αμερικάνικης εφημερίδας έχει αναλάβει να γράψει ένα άρθρο για τον Ιγκουάνα, που ελπίζει ότι θα της χαρίσει το πούλιτζερ... Ποιο θα είναι το τίμημα, όμως;
Η συνέχεια του άλμπουμ “Η Μεγάλη Απάτη”... μια βιογραφία για
τον φρικαλέο Ιγκουάνα.
Στο “Ο Ιγκουάνα” ο Trillo εμβαθύνει στον μύθο του “τρόμου της Λα Κολόνια” χαρίζοντας μας ένα αξέχαστο κόμικ άλμπουμ γεμάτο υπερβολές, απρόβλεπτο και σχεδόν σουρεαλιστικό. Η αφήγηση περνάει στον αναγνώστη μέσα από τις συνεντεύξεις των κάτοικων της Λα Κολόνια, χτίζοντας τον μύθο του Ιγκουάνα από τις ιστορίες τους και το τι έχουν βιώσει οι ίδιοι σε προσωπικό επίπεδο απέναντι στο “τέρας”.

About the author

Carlos Trillo was an Argentine comic book writer. Trillo began a prolific career as writer already at the age of 20, writing his first story for Patoruzú magazine. Trillo created, together with Horacio Altuna, the strip El Loco Chávez, which appeared every day at the back of the newspaper Clarín from July 26, 1975 to November 10, 1987. After that, the strip was replaced by El Negro Blanco, which he wrote for the artist Ernesto García Seijas until September 1993. He married writer Ema Wolf and had two children. He participated on the creation of several comics including Cybersix in 1992, with Carlos Meglia, and the Clara de noche and Cicca Dum Dum series with Jordi Bernet. He has also collaborated with Alberto Breccia and Alejandro Dolina. In 1999, his work La grande arnaque won the Prize for Scenario at the Angoulême International Comics Festival. He died in London on May 8, 2011, while on holiday with his wife.

Το διάβασα και δεν το βρήκα καθόλου δυσάρεστο. Άπαξ και διάβασα την προφανώς κλάσεις ανώτερη Μεγάλη Απάτη, αντιμετώπισα το Ιγκουάνα σαν ακριβώς αυτό που είναι: Ένα συμπληρωματικό άλμπουμ που δίνει μερικά στοιχεία ακόμα για την περσόνα του Ιγκουάνα. Το σχέδιο ήταν χειρότερο. Το σενάριο ήταν προχειρογραμμένο. Πάντα συγκριτικά. Ακόμα και έτσι, με έπεισε ότι δεν θα ήθελα ποτέ να συναντήσω τον τύπο, με τίποτα όμως. Θα συνιστούσα να διαβαστεί μετά την κύρια ιστορία της Μ.Α. γιατί μόνο του δεν σε κρατά και δεν έχει να δώσει κάτι εκτός από ιδέες για βασανιστήρια.

Iguanu pamtim ko strašnog ubojicu, utjelovljenje zla u banana republici. ovdje kad je glavni lik nekako je manje strašan, objašnjen i banlniji.

Actually tells an interesting story, but fails to contain even one single likable character. The whole plot revolves around this evil character who dies at the beginning. The rest of the story is smut and stories told from different characters about how much of a bad man the title character was. Something about it made me think of a novella by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. But not quite up to that level...
