Rate this book
From the boardroom to the courtroom, the halls of Congress to the launch pad, Lunar Dance is a story of ambitious dreams, bold actions and eternal love set amid the high stakes world of today's commercial launch industry, where the opportunities are boundless, but failure leads to certain death. When maverick aerospace startup Roadrunner Rockets hired former NASA engineer Carl Heinel, they knew nothing about the secret that consumed him. But Carl soon realizes that their revolutionary technology could allow him to keep a promise from his distant past - a promise he is committed to fulfilling, regardless of the cost. The one piece he needs to make it all possible is a retired space shuttle. Lunar Dance follows Carl and the team from Roadrunner Rockets as they implement their elaborate plan to secretly obtain the shuttle they need and embark on the greatest adventure in history. A plan in which everything is hidden in plain sight, nothing is as it seems, and only a handful of people know the real truth. Everything is proceeding very well - until it all goes catastrophically wrong.

Robert Sapp lives in Pensacola, Florida, a town whose unofficial motto is “Where Thousands Live As Millions Wish They Could.” His background as a former nuclear submariner and lifelong aerospace enthusiast along with his degree in Engineering Technology from the University of West Florida gives him the comprehensive grasp of science and technology that is a hallmark of his writing.

When not working to pay the bills, he and his wife Rhonda sail the local bays and bayous on Eagle, their 34 foot sloop. After receiving numerous compliments on the “darn fine Christmas letter” he wrote each year, Robert finally decided to see if he had what it took to become a professional author. Lunar Dance is the result of his attempt at following that dream. Currently, Robert is considering a short list of topics to develop for his next novel.

As far as stories go, this is one of the best I have read in the past year. It reads very well and it is clear how much care was taken with both the ideas and the quality of the writing. The fact the story itself is excellent all add up to a rare, 5 star review!

The technical aspects of the story help differentiate the book. My own feeling is that they were a fascinating part of the story and nothing was too complex because of the explanations provided.

In general, the book felt balanced to me and I'm really looking forward to the next novel from this Author where I hope to find more of the same.

One of the best books I've read lately! I found myself drawn into Robert Sapp's world and didn't want to leave! If you ever had any interest in America's space program, you will love this book. Entertaining, technically sound, and very well written, I highly recommend this book! Not science fiction, but fiction about science. And Sapp makes it fun! Great work!
