A decent introduction to an extremely powerful DAW. It gives some very useful tricks and tips which help workflow and also allow one to get more creative (particularly in mix and texture). However, I wish there was the same detailed explanation of certain theoretical aspects of sound. The section and analogy on compression is fantastic and helps one understand a complex aspect (that is often poorly utilised) of modern sound design. However, other sections of the book are severely lacking in the same level of articulate explanation. This book also assumes you have a moderate level of knowledge about audio engineering theory. So you may need to read another book while going through its dense 400+ pages. I would recommend it to be read in tandem with Ableton's own 700 page manual (which I am still reading). Ultimately worth it, but could be better.
