Hilarious and comically resonant. A manananggal jowa, a monster hunter best friend and a sigbin for a pet.

A fascinating turn for Contempo graphic novels in the queer lit genre where elements of the mundane blend with Philippine folklore, normalizing LGBT romance and making them relatable and resonant for a diverse readership.

I like seeing firsthand the ongoing societal shift toward acknowledging the multifaceted nature of love and relationship, where queer characters exist authentically in a cultural context, breaking away from stereotypes and tropes.

Most memorable was when the matriach aswang dropped by the son's place and he questioned her uninvited visit asking "I'm sure hindi ka pumunta dito para lang kamustahin 'yung mga corelle mo."

I love the art style sa komiks na 'to. Ang gaganda at popogi ng mga karakter lalo na 'yung magjowa. Sabi ko nga, I will be very happy na sandwhichin nila akong dalawa. Hahaha.

Anyway, alam ko na bite-sized stories lang 'to, nabigyan tayo ng back stories ng magjowa, their family background, paano sila nagkakilala, and all the aswang community.

Oks lang siya. I love how easy-to-read this is. Natapos ko lang 'to ng wala pang isang oras.

I love the use of colors to portray the vibe or atmosphere of each scenes. Medyo hindi ko lang feel ang ibang dialogues dito. Sometimes, kaswal, tapos biglang seseryoso, tapos biglang magiging poetry style, paiba-iba ng tono.

'Yun lang. Haha! Kanina pa ako nakatingin sa blinking cursor, wala na akong masabi. Hahaha!

Intro ni Sammie palang sold na ko (fave character). Tbh, yung earnestness emanates from the pages, sobrang relatable yung ilang sequences, at ang husay rin ng illustration at composition. I don’t know if the author plans to explore this world further, pero I would be thrilled to read more of their adventures. Now, may sigbin merch bang available?

Ang ganda, ang saya, kaya lang pagdating sa may dulo parang minadali :(
Kinulang ako sa drama XD
Pero feel ko ang dating ni bakunawa, although medyo naguluhan ako sa dami ng pangalan ni aswang hunter XD all in all, natapos sya nang maayos at malinis.

Sa librong ito mas makikilala si Tomas, ang kanyang pamilya at pagkatao kasama na rin ang bagong hamon sa relasyon nila. Ang masarap sa edisyon na ito ay ang pagkakaroon ng mga character improvement ngunit sana'y mas magkaroon din ng plot developement kung saan ang mga mambabasa ay makaramdam ng mas nakakapanabik na tagpo o pangyayari.

Isasama ko ito sa aking reality-taste shelve dahil inaasahan ko na lalong magpupursigi ang lumikha nito na paglaruan ang mundo nila Tomas at Leo 😊
