Ah!! This was so good!! I want MORE. Like another bonus story or two.
I LOVE this kind of slow burn romance. Like don't get me wrong. I like a good smutty bl, but this one where it's focused on the feelings and they just spend time hanging out and getting to know each other?? Delicious. This is a rock star x fan age gap romance. Harutaka is a super fan of the band, The Lazy Rats, and specifically the guitarist, Himemiya. Then things happen and they find themselves getting to know each other. It's so sweet. It's also young seme (26) x older uke (43) although you don't get to see much of that beyond a makeout session. I really liked reading this.
The art wasn't my favorite in the beginning. Mainly Harutaka's hair, but I got used to it and it did have a lot of aspects I liked, the faces especially. There's also just something about band/music stories that really get me. The way Iyada-sensei drew the concert was breath-taking honestly. I think they did a really great job of capturing the energy of a show.
The author said that this is basically all their favorite tropes in one so I hope they put out more stuff. We have similar tastes lol. I don't necessarily want a sequel to this story, but maybe a spin off following one of the other members or just a small bonus story of Harutaka and Himemiya being lovey dovey I would love.
This wound up being one of my favorite manga I've read so far this year. This one is all in this volume too! It's definitely worth the price. There are a couple bonus stories at the end. They are about the same couple just a bit of a continuation of their story. The storyline is what makes this manga so good. I found the drawings to be a bit messy for my taste every now and then. Overall it is pretty good though.
The story is about a hairdresser who is a huge fan of the band The Lazy Rats. They are an older band that started in the late 1990's. They've lost 2 of their original members, but have been going strong with the replacement members for awhile. They are back on tour and the hairdresser can't wait to fanboy it up over them at every concert he can get tickets too. He's infatuated with the lead guitar player. Has been since he was a kid and saw an old VHS tape his Dad had of The Lazy Rats. Little does the hairdresser know his boss knows the guys in the band well. One day the lead guitar player comes into the salon looking for his old friend the owner & a haircut. He winds up seeing the hairdresser & remembers him from the concert a few days prior. He also is reminded they met at a fan met and greet awhile back. The hairdresser cherishes the pic they took so much together he made it his screen saver. The guitar player winds up letting the hairdresser cut his hair. He loves the results & asks if he'll be at the next concert in a few weeks. The hairdresser tells him yes. When that concert roles around he's there with a friend of his. His boss has invited him out for drinks after the concert. When he gets there he finds out the whole band is there as well! The story takes off from there. The hairdresser and the guitar player get closer as time goes by. Both are developing more and more feelings for each other. Though they're having a bit of trouble putting into words and thoughts what those feelings actually are. They both soon figure out it's love. Will they be able to tell each other how they feel? Will they be able to develop a relationship that will last? It does end in what seems to be a happily ever after. Lets hope so!
I truly enjoyed this one & highly recommend it. I'd it sounds like something you'd like give it a read. Enjoy!
hairdresser BL always gives me Color Recipe flashbacks, and I get a little scared. But this was PEAK!!! So so SO cute and has one of the handsomest MLs I’ve ever laid eyes on. It’s a laid back story that is somehow fast-paced despite nothing rlly happening— what’s important is the cute vibes. The only thing I don’t particularly like is the cover. It makes the book seem like a sultry romance, which is a side of the couple you don’t see until the extra pages when the book is already finished.
SCREAMING. This just became one of my all-time favorites. Idol x fan tropes are tricky, but this one? Perfection. A 26 y/o hairdresser and a 43 y/o guitarist from a 90s band, paired with an art style that feels like classic 80s/90s manga? I’m SO here for it. I DESPERATELY NEED the sequel translated!!!
10/10 would love a physical copy of this, that’s how much I enjoyed it. Good blushies, super sweet, super cute romance arc. Harutaka lives every fanboy/fangirl’s dream, meeting & mutually falling in love with their ult. Himemiya is an absolutely adorable 40+ yr old baby bi and while we don’t get smut in this one, I’m pretty sure he’s the uke? 😏 Love it!
The art is very pretty and eye catching, although the story is so fast paced like I can't keep up and hairdresser uke is drawn like a child than a adult but it's still a ok read to check out if you want a BL older rockstar x his simp fan who is a hairdresser.
This was surprisingly sweet. A very light, lively manga that made me smile on every page and, above all, super cute. If you're having a bad day, read this story. If you're having a good day, read it anyway because you'll get even better! 😊
3.0 I took down a star bc i don't like big age gaps if the younger one is not at least in their 30's. I definitely pretended the shorty was 30 y.o to get through this manga. I also think the shorty looked too much like a child... not cool. The rest was cute.
This manga is so amazing! The art is great (feels kinda throw back to older shoujo style, in a good way), the story is basically perfection...💖💖💖 I can't wait for the continuation!!!! I totally reread this when I'm down and it always helps lift my mood
