Only last month, former Booyong High student Simon 'Specky' Magee led the Gosmore Grammar Knights to victory against our courageous Booyong Lions. But now he's back in town! Well, we at the Bugle would like to welcome Simon home, but even his best mates don't want him on the team. And now we can't help but wonder just how 'specky-tacular' Magee really is... Will he ever play with Booyong again? Specky has questions of his own. Will Robbo and Danny ever talk to him again? What could possibly scare the Great McCarthy? And what's Screamer up to now?

This is the next installment of the Specky Magee series. Specky has returned to Booyong High and has some trouble adjusting into his old school and team. He also has girl trouble!
I really enjoyed this book. It deals with many issues young teenagers face including girls, siblings, bullies, finding your passion, and realising that there is often more to people than they show you. It was good to find out a bit more about Screamer and why he is the way he is.
Specky Magee is back in book five of the series and he is having all sorts of friendship dramas with his drongo idiot mates from Booyong High who couldn't tell the backside from their elbow they are so thick. On the field of course Magee is the multi Brownlow medal star of all time. Some reasonable entertainment but fairly limited.
This book is set in modern day Australia and is based around Simon(Specky)Magee. He is nicknamed Specky because of his amazing speckies or catches while playing Aussie Rules. He and his friends are Aussie Rules mad and each support their own team, except for Specky who supports 6 teams each for a different reason. He dreams of playing in the AFL(Australian Football League)which is the top, professional league in Australia.
I character I can relate to is Specky because he loves his sports and wants to achieve at the highest level at his chosen sport which is Aussie Rules. He works hard and is a fair player.
An important relationship in this book is the one between Specky and his two best friends, Robbo and Danny, this is because without their relationship Specky and their team would not be as good because they can rely on each other to do well.
One of the things the book made me think about is what if I was living in Australia and would i love the game as much as Specky and his friends do.
I couldn't put this book down because its not often that I get to read a sports book, which I enjoy because they are something I cam relate to.
Specky has the troubles of his old friends not accepting him back after he got expelled from the best sporting school in the country, he makes alot of inprovemont on his enemyu teammate, Derek (Screamer) Johnson.
