Hot sun, hot sand and a hot, hot man. Who says an older woman can't have adventure?
Kitty Benson left her home in the UK to find the warmth of the sun 'Down Under'. She never expected the journey to include a life-threatening experience. A toned, tanned Adonis Zakk rescues Kitty from a dangerous rip current her first day at the beach. Alive and sunkissed by the Downunder Heat, when Kitty meets her rescuer again, the spark that piqued her interest turns to flames
Alysha Ellis lives in Australia and when she isn't busy drinking champagne, eating chocolate and letting her inner tart run free, she writes erotic comedy. Her favourite quote comes from Mae West… A hard man is good to find. Who could argue with that? Alysha tries very hard to be bad, because bad girls have all the fun.

I really enjoyed this story of a newly free from responsibility woman who takes a chance and moves to Australia. There she manages to catch the attention of a younger (although not obscenely so) man. As the story unfolds we get a delicious insight into their budding romance - until responsibility comes knocking again - and Kitty rushes away, her flight to freedom curtailed. Luckily that is not where the story ends ...
A lovely, heartwarming and sexy read that would brighten up an evening very effectively.
I always love when I read a new author and I finish a book and wonder what else she has out there for me to read. Down Under Heat is a super sexy story of a May-December romance. Being roughly the same age as the heroine, I could absolutely relate to some of her fears and issues. There is a realness to this story which makes even more satisfying.
There is no doubt most 50 year old women would be mortified to be rescued by a sexy 30ish man. Kitty while happy to be alive can’t get her rescuer out of her mind so when she sees him again; she chokes on her drink adding to her mortification. It was so easy to put myself in her shoes and understand how unnerving this was for her. I love how Zakk immediately tries to put her at ease and how he doesn’t see the age difference as being a big deal. It’s harder for Kitty, but the more time they spend together the more she accepts that he is sincere in his affection for her.
I really liked Kitty and admire her for wanting to shake up her life when her daughter leaves for university. She has the same issues most women have; that her body isn’t good enough, she’s not sexy enough, and that she’s starting to show her age. Zakk is such a great guy and very attentive. I like that he always puts her first and does everything in his power to make her understand that he doesn’t want anyone but her.
Their chemistry is easy to see and even with Kitty’s lack of experience over the last many years, their intimate scenes are as explosive as they are touching. I applaud Zakk for the way he praises Kitty and makes sure she knows he’s completely satisfied. In my opinion Kitty makes a pretty big mistake and even though it puts her through the wringer; I hate that she really didn’t think about Zakk’s feelings and hurt him badly. I’m glad that he was man enough to face her head on and make her understand that what they share is worth saving.
Down Under Heat was thoroughly enjoyable; the characters were relatable, the love story romantic and sexy, and the ending satisfying. While this is the first book I’ve read by Alysha Ellis, I can assure you it won’t be my last!
When there’s an attractive guy, sizzling sun and beach at your beck and call, why can’t an older gal have some fun? Leaving the gloom of the UK for sunny Down Under was Kitty Benson’s chance at a fresh start, but she wasn’t prepared to have her life threatened and saved by a gorgeous man on her first day there! Muscled, bronzed beach god, Zakk saves Kitty from a dangerous riptide, and makes a definite impression on her. When she meets him again at her place of employment sparks fly between them and before long, catch fire.
Down Under Heat by Alysha Ellis wasn't exactly what I'd expected it to be, but that's completely O.K. I knew there'd be some scorching bed room scenes (there were), but I wasn't prepared for how sweetly romantic the tale was. I was initially attracted to the story because the main character, Kitty is a fifty year old woman in her prime. Since most romances that I've come across are written with female characters much younger, I thought it would be nice to read something geared more towards someone my age. Yes, as much as I'd like to avoid it, I'm getting nearer to fifty than I'd care to admit.
Ms. Ellis did a good job of presenting Kitty's issues with their difference in age without beating me over the head with it repeatedly. This new- to-me-author captured my interest right away with characters that I found myself connecting to, in spite of how brief the tale was, though Zakk's outbursts did seem to contradict his statements that "age didn't matter." In the end though he and Kitty both did some growing up emotionally, acknowledging where they could have done things differently, while making plans for a possible future.
If a cougar style tale with heart is your cup of tea, then I recommend Down Under Heat by Alysha Ellis. It's a quick, sexy, fun read that will make your heart thud just a little more quickly.
Downunder Heat is Alysha Ellis' story in Totally Bound's Sexy Snax imprint and it's a fun and definitely sexy story!
When Kitty relocates from the UK to Australia, she never expected to need rescuing-and on the very first day there!! Kitty goes to the beach and jumps in the ocean for a cooling swim. Before she realizes, she's being swept out to sea by a riptide. Unable to get herself out of it, she's rescued by a tanned and muscled beach saint named Zakk. He makes an enormous impression on her. When she meets him once again at her work place, she's dumbfounded that he is interested in her.
Kitty is a beautiful woman in her fifties, Zakk is in his late thirties. What could he want with her?? But Zakk IS interested and surely doesn't care about Kitty's age. He just likes her. The more time they spend together, the more Kitty is accepting of Zakk's claim of interest.
I always love a sexy, romantic, cougarish romance! Kitty's insecurities are real and I absolutely can relate. Zakk doesn't understand Kitty's issues though. He does everything he can to get Kitty to understand her fears are unwarranted. He shows her that he is not interested in anyone but her! I loved how attentive he is and he doesn't overpower Kitty with just words. He backs it up with his actions-and Kitty takes note!
Downunder Heat was a very pleasurable read! Alysha Ellis makes it feel very real. Their chemistry was sizzling! Although Kitty ultimately makes, what I view, as a bad decision, I had faith that these two could work it out in the end! The story is romantic, sexy, and the ending was just perfect!
