Before she was a Fledgling, he was a Scion - Who would fight for an Anomaly. This is his story. ~
In the darkness I wait for her, the precious energy who defies our lore. The one I call “Anomalia.” The one my brother would have me destroy.
It’s been seventeen hours since I beheld her last, shrouded by my shield as I brushed against her radiance; desperate to know how she, a Temporal, could possess such awareness here. After all, In Transitory should be a realm known only to we of sacred Ethereal blood; a state Temporals reach, but never recall, as they dream.
Except for her – this enchanting Temporal girl, this most confounding anomaly. Her awareness rivals that of most Ethereals. And that’s why tonight, for her sake, I must find her.
~ Scion is a tantalizing prequel to the Amazon bestselling Tri-Realms Saga told from Sebastian's perspective. Kindly note it is a novelette, approximately 12,500 words.
K.C. King's love affair with books began with Charlotte's Web when she was eight. A true Aquarian, she's a dreamer whose John Grisham obsession resulted in her choice to study linguistics and law. When she's not writing, travelling, or enjoying cappuccinos in kangaroo cups, you'll probably find her in her own world: Somewhere between Metropolis and Austen's 19th Century England.
This was a really short story, and the best part was when Bree made a brief appearance. I still got a bit bogged down with all the odd terms though. 5 out of 10.
