In this coming-of-age story, Curtis “CJ” Houston, an intrepid, twenty-something, junior high school teacher, is rolling through life (and through as many women as he can find) without a care in the world. His callous and potentially destructive pattern of behavior is painfully obvious to everyone, except him. There appears to be no end to his naivete, until he meets Stacy Gaither, a beautiful thirty-something professional, on a New York City subway. Little does he know that during the course of the year, he will fall desperately in love, suffer his first significant heartbreak and discover the inner-self he never knew. But when faced with adversity of the highest order, will he respond as the mature man he is becoming or cower in the face of it?
