1.5 hours now gone in waste.
First i thought this book could help me remember what i understood in my study but this book entirely focuses on rote memorization of facts and information. Someone who’s interested in those methodologies might find it helpful, but if you’re a person looking for serious tips how to make concrete of your long term understanding, reading this book would be a complete waste of time.

It is a decent read, and has some great information, But I feel its lacking some meat and potatoes. It feels much more like a random brain dump of ideas, than an organized howto for improving your memory. There is a lot of good quality information, but other than some anecdotal examples you are left on your own to figure how on to start implementing and practicing the methods described.

This is one of those books that you just need. It's a necessity.
...You should probably get one of the recent ones though, because this edition is so old that they are removing it from libraries.

This book saved my life! I was totally desperate before my language
exam. I needed to remember a lot of words and information. But
everything I tried to store inside my head just disappeared in few
days and I needed to learn it again and again. It was definitely easy
just to go and shoot myself. But friend of mine kindly stopped me and
recommended to read a book called “Memo”. It was so easy and
interesting and I decided to use this technique just for fun. I had a
long list of words I couldn't remember and tried to visualize every
word. It was really funny to place strange people and items to
different places!
It was the easiest way to solve my problem, I tried ones and still
using this method in different situations.

I read the English version of the book. I would recommend doing the exercises, creating the journeys and doing some critical thinking about how the methods can be applied in your life. Personally I found the mental journeys a bit of a revelation. It clicked for me how to make it work. I plan to use this as a way to learn another language.
